How to Paint Marble Bases - Wet Wipes Method
This week's video takes a look at a super quick and easy to achieve method for painting marble bases.
Whilst I personally like using an airbrush, this style can be done entirely with rattle cans as well.

Painting The New Sanguinor - Warhammer 40,000
Переглядів 375Місяць тому
In this video I tackle painting the new Sanguinor model for the Blood Angels. Whilst the box art is a very warm NMM style, I'll be painting mine in a more cold gold aesthetic. I have also changed the head option with one from the @greytidestudio crimson Lords campaign. #warhammer #warhammer40k #art #painting #hobby

Why did you use an AI voice.. then speak? Just speak the AI voice doesnt make it more fancy
Thank you for the information
Hope it helps!
Wow thats awesome, thanks for the vid.
Thank you for the kind words!
It turned out looking really nice!
Thank you!
Do i spy a kataphron plasma culverin there. Nice plasma effect. I do the same thing but i drybrush the mid tone a little wide for some cheap and dirty OSL
You do indeed! Very nice I like that idea 😊
this is good stuff
Thank you!
So THAT's how you make a Salamander! ;)
This is how it's done. Don't even have to highlight light green that much. You can easily paint Caliban green on with a brush. This is the easiest and best looking way to paint them
I look forward to more
Thank you for the kind words I appreciate it!
UA-cam more of this please
Every "quick and easy" tutorial. "Start by getting your airbrush".
What grip/handle is that? would seem perfect for me.
@@Knoxtane This is a painting handle from RedGrass Games 😊
How do you keep the paint looking shiny? Everytime I try to dry brush to highlight, my model looks dried out and dull
Give the model a Satin varnish once you're done and it'll get some shine back 😊
I have literally just finished my lockust heavy destroyer thinking my glow effects were good. Then this came up 😭
Looks so nice! Do you have an idea for Ravenwing, too?!
Hiya thank you! I'll be uploading a short about painting black templars soon and it's essentially the exact same way 😊
why dont you just recess shade instead of covering everything with aggrax, then having to paint it all again with silver i dont know why people dont do this
@@athan336 You certainly can do, I mostly do it so that the steel has different tones, so rather than just the recesses part of the steel itself is darker. More like a filter over the model and then you highlight where the light would hit
this is beautiful.
Thank you!
Looks great! quick question: Why did you use earthshade on the leadbelcher instead of nuln oil?
It's a mix of personal preference (I like my Necrons to have a small bit of grime) and it works well with the gold so it's just quicker to do an all over wash. But by all means Nuln would work perfectly well as well 😊
@@gallowaypaints9430 Noted! I think I will do mine with nuln oil. if you don't mind, another question came up: do you have any tips on creating the colour difference with earthshade on the gold of his head? I would also like to create some interest in the same way, but the video sadly skipped over it
How have you done the cape please? (what colors, step)
Hello, there's a separate video for the capes on my channel 😊
great job! thanks for the video
Thank you for the kind words!
Love your take on the Necron style sir. And I've definitely found a satisfying way to paint their signature green energy glow, thanks to you!
Thank you I appreciate the kind words!
Just a quick question sir : when you advise to lower the pressure on the airbrush to avoid the spraying becoming out of hand do you have any pressure in mind actually? What did you or what would you recommend as a valid setting approximately? Congrats again on such à great tutorial. Your channel os becoming more and more one of my favorites!
@@damiendelcros-clamadieu Hello, firstly thank you for the kind words! I have a lot of short form content available as well on my tiktok and Instagram 😊 UA-cam is my newest endeavour but absolutely plan on posting more often! In terms of the pressure, I typically lower it to around 20 PSI when doing detail work and 30 PSI for basecoats and initial layers etc 😊
I was wondering, for the lion video you did, you use grey knight still air. Is there any difference if I used the base paint version or is it the same
The only difference is the air version is pre thinned 😊
@@gallowaypaints9430 thanks, I was planning on using your video to paint mine but I prefer base paint over air so I wasn’t sure if there was a colour difference.
@@gallowaypaints9430 was going to by the model today but they sold there last one yesterday, so need to wait one more day till I can start
Damn, this video made me double check if I didn’t have it somewhere, because I have been doing it this exact way for a while and I haven’t seen a video before that do it in this exact method😅
Just waiting for my sons first order of the ultimate starter set to arrive. So far he's tried the standard white primer and base/layer painting at the local hobby shop. He will probably try slapchop as well as white primer and speed paints. Although right now, not sure which we will end up with. Which is best in your opinion to get tabletop ready for a beginner ultramarines army?
Thats awesome! In terms of tabletop ready, the standard base, layer, wash, highlight approach is solid and teaches the fundamentals. For speed however, slapchop is better 😊
Looks amazing
Thank you! I appreciate that!
Subscribing. I'd be interested if you did Azrael.
Thank you I appreciate that, I've done an Azreal commission in the past. No videos but you can see the model on my Instagram.

Great video!
Thank you!
Love these heads. Where do you get them? Chapter looks great
Thank you! I found them on Etsy, but if you have a 3D printer there's some good STLs for Greek helmets!
Really cool!
Thank you!
Looks pretty cool!
Would not recommend sable brushes as first brushes. Synthetic for example water color brushes are fine and good practice to learn good brush control before getting more expensive ones.
Some companies like Army Painter for instance do some cheap but good quality sable brushes. Especially in their box sets with paints as well. But I absolutely agree to not jump into something like a Windsor and Newton brush straight away!
30 seconds in and I already had 2 points to correct here. I hope I can help. First: Sable brushes are outstanding when working on details with regular acryllics. But you will ruin them quickly when you use them with washes, speedpaints or metallics. Washes and speedpaints will move up between the bristles and split them, metallics will straight up shred the bristles. Better buy medium quality artificial hair brushes for that. And second: Never... AND THE ROCK MEEEEANS "NEVER"... buy anything from GreenStuffWorld. They are the Nestlé of the hobby sector. Their shitty business tactics are straight up criminal and they ruin smaller creators and inventors on a regular basis. Buying GSW is almost like ordering stuff from Temu. Just don't. Please. Thanks for the rest, though. I am sure this will help a lot of people. :)
Looks cool 🖌
Thank you!
