Hermida Audio / Lovepedal White Zendrive - No Talking Demo
Переглядів 1,9 тис.7 місяців тому
When Lovepedal came alongside Alf to help out with Hermida's pedals, they eventually made a few modifications to the venerable Zendrive by Hermida Audio. The white Zendrive or "Vanilla Mojo", as Lovepedal calls it, is the lower gain of any option made by Lovepedal and Hermida. I think it sounds great and is my favorite iteration of the Zendrive. It can get pretty mean in higher settings but it ...

Lovepedal White Dragon Fuzz and Landgraff Dynamic Overdrive (at end)
Переглядів 1,9 тис.6 років тому
Just noodling on the White Dragon Fuzz by Lovepedal. The controls are (from left to right) Volume, Gain, and Blend. The blend...blends between a Rangemaster on the left, and a Fuzz Face on the right. Transistor in this one is a Sanyo, it's a little lower in gain from other clips I've heard of the White Dragon lineup. I like how this stacks with a TS so I also included a little bit with my Landg...
Lovepedal Plexi Pro 100 GE with Les Paul

Lovepedal made a GREAT master volume controlled COT (church of tone) 50 and coupled it with a clean boost for the Plexi 100 GE! The COT side is incredibly dynamic and cleans up nicely with pick attack and volume adjustments. The sensitivity knob was added to fine tune the low end and midrange at higher gain settings on the COT 50. Guitar: 1997 Les Paul Classic w/ Bigsby and Will Boggs PAFs Amp:...

I have the Wish Klon and really like it, especially in front of other pedals. With that said, the KTR seems to have a little more clarity if you are just looking for a boost. The Wish adds some mids. I bet a cap or resister change fixes that easily.
It's definitely a fun pedal - I'd place it higher than a bunch of clones I've played.
The modulation is awesome. Long reverb with a low repeat delay high mix?
thank you! No mod effects were on for this demo. The verb is a medium room verb, and the delay was low repeats with a mix I liked. delay and reverb were through Neural DSP's Nolly plugin.

I've got the wish one and it slays
Yep it was pretty impressive for the price.
Hi.
Hi what amount of doping on your Weber?
Hi there! I've owned the silver so long I can't remember exactly what level, but I think it's the middle of the road option.
How many watts is that Silver Bell?
50
Gold ….all day
Nice review, many fail to capture the lead tones you can get from a ZD! I’ve had a ZD since Alfie sent me one in 2009. It’s a pedalboard constant, but mainly as a creamy lead boost from a clean or breaking amp. Different vibe on Strat and P90, but not my fave for chord drive( prefer Klon style boost).
Hey @brianschulz, constructive criticism allowed? If so, I'd suggest a bit less 'noise by other fx' when demoing a specific pedal. Reason: Delay & reverb are of course nice & make life a lot easier for us guitarists (they 'enlarge' the sound immediately by creating space/room in which the sound of the guitar is embedded; esp. useful for pickups with a discrepancy in attack VS sustain -> e.g. Tele/Strat single coils). However, this comes at the cost of adding 'clutter' to your tone (e.g. delay brings up attack again, again, again... get my drift?). One criterium in choosing a drive pedal is its behavior in the sustain-phase (unless you're only a shredder ;o), especially true for "bluesy" ODs like the Zen Drive - even more 'truer' as ZD can be called 'Robben Ford's inofficial signature pedal'... Apart from that, I do like this review: Straight into the matter, different settings/sounds are demonstrated, very nice and relaxed playing (subjective, but I like ;o). Thanks again for producing this, Brian!
Thanks for the input!
Nice!
I have that model, red enclosure, very nice tone range. Nice overdrive pedal
Zens of all flavors are fun! I had the red one for a while too and loved it. thanks for watching!
Really good,great sound!!
Thank you :)
Sounds awesome well played mate 🔥
Thanks, dude!
Super clean playing and lovely subtle use of the bar. And of course the tones are glorious. Is the gain early in the video coming from the COTernity, or is the plugin set with a little gain on it?
Thanks man! The COT side is on for the whole song. The amp is set up for a small amount of hair when pushed. The COT makes it “feel” more like an amp through my monitors.
Sounds great my friend! Well played! Keep it up!!🎸
Thank you!
Weber ftw!
You're not going to hear any difference between the two wiring methods when the volume is dimed. You'd be better off doing a video where the volume is rolled back to 7 or halfway and then playing a comparison between dimed and rolled back on both wiring methods. Sorry, but this video does not give people any idea at all on what the effects of both wiring methods are.. Also, with 50's wiring when you roll off the tone, you lose a small bit of volume in the signal.
There is 100% a difference in the stock vs upgraded wiring in these clips. Listen on a good set of headphones or near fields...not on computer speakers or a phone.
Does the red dot do the same low gain tones as the original- and do you think it's original enough that even if you have a good collection of higher end overdrives- it's worth adding this one to the collection?
The red gain one is a fun drive if you don’t have any other pedals to stack for “that” tone. I personally love the white zen (Lowest gain) the most because I’m a a fan of stacking other pedals with it.
The 10" Weber SilverBell (Alnico) is a go-to speaker for me.... whether playing happy or angry, it gets the job done.
Are you the guy who played the main riff on “Desperado” by Rihanna?
you caught me!
@@brianschultz Yoooo let’s work
lol I'm just kidding. that's not a hard song to adapt to guitar though.
@@brianschultz Wait so you’re not him? 😂
Weber sounds amazing!!!
The Celestion is missing some “Body”. The Weber covered the whole musical spectrum. No comparison at all.
Red sounds better. But both are nice,
The Silver Bell sounds mellower and flatter, more open. The Gold sounds brighter, tighter, and narrower. In this contest, I'd pick the Gold as the winner, even though I love my 30 watt Weber Alnico Silver Bell speaker for most rock tones.
Which one would you recommend for a Marshall style amp?
@@geeksuperstar8564 I'm still partial to the weber in this comparison...but I'd run either a greenback or a weber leagacy in a closed back marchall cab.
You can't out Celestion a Celestion
These speakers don't even come close to the real deal. I play through 2 vox ac 30 handwired amps through 2 1968 big box fender band Master solid pine cabinets open back . I've never had heard anything better than the 1966 vox / celestion silver bell speakers with original paulsonic cones..
That certainly would be a fun setup
Years ago,i found a 1972 Vox AC 30 TB(still the hardwired version, not PCB) in Germany, amp was offered for low money(€300,it wasn't running) and arranged this for a friend. When he got it in,there were 2 Celestion Alnico Silver Bulldog speakers inside and the repair was an easy one.Great find.
Wow, the GE version really sounds great, too bad it's super rare. Thanks!
Mine will stay with me until my next assignment!
Weber FTW. Plus, the Weber is less expensive.
Depends on where you live. The Celestion Alnico Gold will be cheaper in Europe (less shipping costs),the Weber will be cheaper in the US,than in Europe.
How to setting good
TIS THE BELL
YES IT IS.
The gold is very good, and they sound more similar than I expected but the silver has that... something. It has attitude.
Both sound good, leaning toward the gold
I’m surprised that the Gold has as much fizz. The Weber sounded better to me, like it would be better after an hour vs. a tired feeling.
Wow a demo where the guy can actually play, how weird! Thanks for the great review, just ordered a red dot from Reverb for my Silverface Super Reverb and AC15.
wow, thank you for the kind words! The red dot will sound sick through any amp...it's got a LOT of gain on tap.
Thanks for this! Great comparison
Thank you!
Which pickups does your jazzmaster have?
I have a Novak JM-V in the neck and JM-Fat in the bridge.
The Gold sounded thin to my ears.
I have a weber silver bell in a closed back and a weber blue dog in an open back imho nothing better for like anything
That's an incredible combo.
God Weber sucks.
Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
Brian Schultz haha. Thanks for the vid. I had just listened to a bunch of Weber speaker comparisons in a row and every time they were the worst. I think your video was the last I saw.
@@jaycee30865 no worries man! I actually prefer the silver bell with some amps, and the gold with others.
Brian Schultz yep. That’s what happens. Want to hear he gold really suck? Put it in a fender. :)
do you have tabs for this key
I don't, sorry.
Nice work.
Thanks!
The Gold sounds harsh where the Weber sounds smooth
Man this vox sounds awesome
Thanks!
Great stuff! I believe I saw your npd on TGP :) Is the clone for sale?
Thanks! The clone isn't for sale. I have it on a smaller home rehearsal board.
The Celestion has a fuller midrange ... I heard that instantly. But that was back in 2015 ...
I still feel that way, here in 2024. Celestion is warmer in the low mids and not quite as brash on the top end. The Celestion is more dimensional. And I'm a WEBER fan!
They both sound great in different applications. I still own the silver today.
Oh wow! Can we possibly used this video for a song cover? My friends and i are planning to do video collage of us singing this song. We will also include the link in the description to link it back to you. We are doing this as a project during the covid quarantine. Please reply!
Sure! This is a super late reply though 🙃
i have both ! weber by a small nose
weber has to me tighter bottom
I still have the weber today - it's my favorite british alnico speaker.
Digging the gold. Thanks for this.
