I would like to hear about your riding experience with these helmets. Did you say anything about ventilation, comfort on long rides, temperature differences?
I would have to say i have been riding with my Urban for a month now and when you get up to speeds around 70 or higher it seems problematic. When i get to higher speeds it get so much updraft in the helmet it feels like it wants to pull off my head. Even though it fits supper snug it moves to much. Also if you try to check your blind spot the visor catches draft and moves up. Since to visor isn't fixed it has to much play. Nice design but cheap.
"The biggest difference is the the part that goes over your nose & mouth..." Uhh...ventilation? Would think that's an important difference you didn't even mention. And the round ones on the forehead...are those vent holes or just for show?
Funny to hear you describing the Urban Helmet as being very derivative of the Biltwell, when the Biltwell is a straight up imitation of Bell helmets from the 60s/70s. I own a Biltwell Gringo, and to be honest, I’ve never understood what the fuss is about. It’s a good lid, but it’s nothing special. The Urban surprised me with it’s build quality, and with it’s fit and finish. My Urban lids feel more comfortable than my Biltwell, but everyone is different. I wouldn’t be afraid to give the Urban lids a chance. I’ve bought two, and I will be buying more. Really good lids in my opinion.
Thanks for the review/comparison. I looked at the Urban. But bought the Gringo. I was still curious about the Urban though. All in all, I think I bought the right one for me. But they both appear to be nice, cost friendly helmets. Oh yeah, does the urban come with the face shield? The shield for the Gringo was a $20 additional for me. Thanks.
Urban Helmets are a high quality product with fantastic fit and finish. The build quality with urban helmets exceeded my expectations by miles. I own a Biltwell AND two Urbans, and I prefer my Urban lids.
They literally do know his style. Yours as well for that matter. They track what you frequently look up on the internet and present advertising based on it.
Really? I've had to try so many different helmets and only the Gringo S felt good on my narrow head. All others in this price point and aproximate style hurt my forehead. My GF has a Bonanza which i have also tried in my size and that one is round. Not even the XXL would fit.
I don't notice a difference in noise, but my bike is pretty loud. I only ride the Urban now. I think the difference in these two is what matches your sunglasses best.
So after a bit of riding with this thing, I'll say not great, but OK. Not nearly as good as my Gringo S shield...But I ride with it up almost all the time, which I can not do with my Gringo S. Like I feared, it is nearly impossible to position the shield correctly the first or even third time.
All of them come from china

Do you get any whistling or creaking noises at speeds from the Big Bore with the snap on visor?
🇧🇷
Does the urban face shield fit the gringo?
I watched about 6 video reviews on the Bigbore, yours was the best one!

Hmmmm so all in all would you say the urban is a bit less bulky

How does the interior shape compare? The Biltwell is VERY round, looking for something for my narrower head

Bez so would you say the Urban was more or less narrow?
I never tried the Urban
I can’t fit in a XXL Gringo either, it’s very weirdly made. I wear a Torc T1 helmet in large and it fits perfect.
Theyre both imitation Bell Bullitt helmets
Please start saying some Kylo Ren lines.. your voice is scary similar
Nice review very comprehensive. You should do more.
Hows the noise level compared to Gringo? Would you choose one over the other now?
SouthernxLord yes, I’m wondering how the shield performs at speed.
