How do you keep bugs off my South Africa 🇿🇦 sunbelt and your leaves look great, my sunbelt bushes leaves look like Swiss cheese this year. It was a gift last year and even with its holes in It’s leaves is still growing but my heart breaks when I see all the holes. I don’t see any bugs on the plant it must be some sort of flying bug.
Holes in leaves may be sawfly Larvea ...Rose Slugs...They are mostly found on the underside of leaves...Little green worms that can be tiny or up to 1/2 inch long...
That is lovely, HOW? what zone are you in , did you cut this back in spring. I live in central Ontario Canada zone 5b and after 5 years mine have never looked this good. what is your secret. I have 4 plants sharing a arbor and it barely gets a covering and mostly leaves.
@@southerncomfort971 l’m in 6B. I’ve seen videos of jackmanii growing very well in Calgary so 5B should not be a problem. Maybe yours need more sun and more water?
@@exhl1 I have them where they get sun most of the day, the roots are not exposed to the light and a number of plants around them do really well, Its just the Clematis that is a might disappointing. My Nephew mention turning the soil for more oxygen, which I also tried. IT seems to get plenty of water and I also used bone and blood meal. I will just keep trying things. Something might work. lol

How do you prune this clematis. Some websites say group 2 others group 3. I’m confused.
I pruned it early spring left some buds untouched as group 2. Just cut it back a little today hopefully it repeat blooms in fall. Thanks!
My kids bought me a jfk rose bush. First year I had white roses. The last 2 years they are red roses. What causes that?
Could be a Dr Huey rose sucker.
when roses are grafted, the grafted part (JFK) dies, and the original roots of the red rose remain in tact. doesn't always happen but it can, and as the other person said, if you get shoots fry the roots of the red rose they can overtake the grafted part. you know your rose if grafted if theres a bulbous type step by the roots.

This is one plant. Pinkerbelle supposed to be 5 feet tall by 3 feet wide. This one is a little bit out of control.
Bought one from Home depot this year month ago & planted it..cant wait see it like this in 2 months
