Cabo Pulmo - Snorkeling on a Windy Day!
The conditions were terrible but the snorkeling was still decent on this windy day in Cabo Pulmo. You'll notice the currents pushing me and the fish up and down. Clarity was good enough to watch a few parrotfish and quite a few other species as well. Farther offshore, whales were breaching and jumping. It was quite beautiful despite the March conditions.
If you decide to make the trip, you can fly to Cabo or La Paz and rent a car. Or, drive all the way south! The small village has a few restaurants and places to stay. It's very peaceful and the waters are loaded with fish, whales and marine life.

Thinking about driving to Laguna Ojo de Liebre for a whale watching tour? Follow along to see the road and campsites on this half hour driving tour. I left the volume normal so you can see and hear the real conditions. The road runs through a salt mine run by the government and ends at the bay where you can camp for a fee and jump on tours at a single dock. See the full guide to visiting Laguna...
San Felipe Baja Mexico Beach Walk
Переглядів 444 місяці тому
Take a short walk with me on the public beaches of San Felipe. This beach is directly in front of several RV parks, giving campers and RVers a view of what to expect when staying in town. It's also adjacent to the Malecon beaches which have slightly more traffic but are also just as pleasant and wonderful to walk and picnic on. San Felipe Baja is a short drive from the United States border, esp...

Los Algodones Border Crossing
Переглядів 1 тис.5 місяців тому
One of the easiest border crossings into Mexico! I camped at the casino near the border and drove across in the morning. Stopped at the dentist then continued into Baja. They completed the FMM right at the border in the white office on the right. Gave me 180 days and it only required a few minutes. Very friendly crossing and the agents speak English. Follow me through the new Mexicali East border crossing from Mexicali to Calexico. I missed the crossing and had to loop back. Overall, it's very simple and easy to access! Simple Toilet System for Camping in Baja, Mexico
Переглядів 396 місяців тому
The remote beaches of Baja still see enough visitors to concentrate waste. Using a simple toilet system and exporting waste to trash systems helps to keep beaches and wild spaces clean and unpolluted. This is the small system I use while traveling and it's been very easy to implement. Of course, you can build a proper toilet with a larger bucket but this small one is very easy to store and util...

@@nickerdo03 Thanks!
Can you get the TIP and FMM at the Border ?
@@CarmenOrtega-j7u You can get everything at the aduana on highway 15d just south of the border crossing.
😮
Is it possible to take my boat to Mexico 🇲🇽 I’ve never done it it will be the first time .
It is! You need liability insurance for the boat and you need to get a TIP for it at the border as well.
crossbordercoverage.com/mexican-boat-insurance-online/
@@crossbordercoverage I have the permits on hand already , and the FMM for traveling by road
@@crossbordercoverage I got a 10 year permit .
So do you think I’m good to go ?
Great info , I’m driving down to Mexico with my boat 🛥️ 22” trailer I hope there is room in the small lanes for me to travel . I’m kind of nervous 😬
@@leslieb3180 the lanes are pretty spacious at Mariposa. I think you'll have plenty of room.
@@crossbordercoverage my destination will be Nayarit and I’m taking the safe road that is Quota right ! It’s a 24hr drive . Thank you for the info
I tried to get a quote for insurance on your website, but it only goes back to 1989 and I have an 1968 Land Rover Series iiA. Do you know if you offer insurance for vehicles this old? The same for the RV quote, my towed vehicle is the Land Rover and the year only goes back to 1989.
Shoot me an email at info@crossbordercoverage.com with your vehicle info and value. Classic vehicles won't submit through our regular form but I can submit directly to the underwriters for a quote. Happy to connect with you tomorrow.
Did you have a passport or a real id when you go through ?
@@Greg-y7g4y I'm not planning on visiting until October.
I have an enhanced driver's license, My birth certificate and my social. Will they still let me back in with that stuff
@@Greg-y7g4y Not sure. I have both a Book and a passport card. I would call before you waist a trip.
My wife grew up in Douglas. She left after graduating high school (1974) to serve in the Navy.
Douglas is a very nice town.
I was there in February. Probably will make 2 more trips
Can i pass from Mexico to USA without passport, i have my California id ?
It's certainly a risk. A passport is ideal but you might get lucky. If it were me, I'd make sure to have a passport ready.
@@Kurosh4421 No , you must have a passport.
Very informative content. & pretty straight forward. Thanks to you, I'll try this Port of Entry next time I am out in Mexicali because the Calexico Port of Entry can get really backed up. Thanks again.
Thanks for the video and the website.
Of course! Good luck fishing.
Wrong music.
Thanks. I'll check with you first to get the right music next time.
@@crossbordercoverage Oh thanks, now don't you forget.
I am looking for beautiful little Mexican border towns to visit if anyone can recommend some.I hear there are many beautiful small villages hidden away in Mexico
Mexico is a big country and it's full of wonderful towns. For the border specifically, Naco is nice. I enjoy the Tecate are as well. Keep in mind, the border area is always changing. Do your research and be safe.
is a tourist card necessary for a day trip into Tecate?
If you stay within a few miles of the border for 24 hours or less, it's not needed. If you are driving away from the border, it's a good idea to have the FMM.
@@crossbordercoverage Thank you!! I just used your site to buy Mexican auto insurance, super easy and competitive!
Thanks for sharing. We will be there in 2 weeks, hesitating if to go or not. But, it looks safe, But very lonely. :(
It's a very easy border. Have fun!
Great content & very informative. Thank you.

Well, there goes the neighborhood now it’s on UA-cam. . Naco’s my usual border crossing, friendly Aduana inspection easy FMM application and a quick stop in Cananea for my TIP for the van. Spend the night at the truck stop just south of Santa Ana and on the beach in San Carlos next day at lunchtime. And then all mainland Mexico all winter long and hardly any van lifers as they’re all freezing in Quartzsite afraid of Mexico.
That's a great program. I love exploring the mainland as well.
Very tiny Port of Entry,
Was the agriculture inspection because something caught the officer's eye on the xray? or just random inspection? Great video btw.
He didn't give a specific reason. I am carrying a fair amount of gear and it shows up as suspicious on the xray everytime. I think my water tank sets it off more than anything.
Very informative & great content.
Where do you get your temporary import permit for your car when you cross the border?
If you're only going to Puerto Penasco, no temporary import permit is needed. You can get an FMM right at the border crossing. The office is on the right immediately after entering.
Banercito issues the temporary import permit. Google Banercito at the larger border crossings. There are two offices away from the border. One is at the ferry terminal in Layne paz and the other is at only Sonora ( google maps) on Highway 15D.
@@conchscooter Thank you!
Very interesting. You have a great attitude about the searches, etc.
Try and find your way to antelope Wells crossing
Yep! It's on my list for the next trip. I'm doing all of Arizona and California on this round.
A great content been to both cities love it over there Sierra Vista is nice
Sierra Vista is a great town
@@crossbordercoverage We lived in Sierra Vista from 1995 to 2004-beautiful town!
Great video, I think it is really interesting to see how laid back the US-Mexico border points seem to be compared to European border points like the Kapitan Andreevo one between turkey and Bulgaria.
That's interesting. I haven't done those European borders. Ours are different everytime. I've been searched a bunch but sometimes they just flag you through.
Please bring us more , I lived in Bisbee and know how it all works before passport was needed, great food in AP
I will! It's still pretty easy. You just need a passport and need an FMM from the aduana if you plan on staying more than the day.
Technically you get your FMM from inmigracion, and if you have a wreck without an FMM even if you’re in Mexico for an hour you’re illegal and the accident is your fault and your insurance e is invalid. Enjoy.
To anyone concerned about their first trip back into the US through Mexicali, Calexico East is actually much less hectic/intimidating both into and out of Baja. I had been using West for many years until a friend suggested East and I wish I had known about it before. Another tip is if possible arrive before 7am and you'll be over in like 30 minutes as opposed to the always fun three plus hours...
Great advice. We are filming new videos for both crossings next month as well.
@@crossbordercoverage I just came back on the 30th (had forgotten my passport and card) accidentally got into the ready lane - couldn't get out - and was still over the border in 24 minutes (I timed it). Whew...
You took longer in that direction. The easier way is getting justo sierra all the way to the fence then thats when you get to the line.
Nice👍
wow. when I was younger traveling to Mexicali in the 80's, 90's and some in the new millennia... the wait time was 2 to 4hrs back then (morning, noon or night)...and there was no eastern crossing yet. The crossing area where the tunnel begins was not there; it was alway just multi lane and if you didn't pay attention and there was space in front of you, someone would cut in line and take that empty space. Always had to be ready to press that gas petal; no day dreaming. The int'l government building was much different, looks like it was torn down and made a new. as you snaked through, curios what all that construction to the left is all about. Earlier in the video you mentioned to get gas if you can cuz it's cheaper. We made sure to always fuel up on the US side. Yes, gas was cheaper 20/30yrs ago but we didn't trust PEMEX gasoline in the cars, we were afraid it was not much above mud status. The only cars you can fuel up with PEMEX and not worry too much were diesel. I'm guessing it's better now... ?
Does google maps show the correct directions?
Depends on which lane you want to reach. Last time I crossed, Google Maps tried pushing me into Sentri when I wanted the all traffic lanes. If you are trying to reach all-traffic lanes, navigate to the border fence east of the crossing and drive on the parallel road until you find the end of the line. At this point, turn left and enter the one-lane road adjacent to the border fence to get in line.
En Méxicali existen 2 aduanas...la del centro de México y la de Nuevo Méxicali, las dos garitas cuentan con paso peatonal y cruce de autos ,...centri y readu line...
Im going to Mexicali and Google Maps has a flood warning on the 8 FWY … it’s Monday 4/4/23 night @ 12 am 🕛 is it raining hard enough to flood??
Is there Sentri ? on this west side Mexicali border going into the US ?
This video is the all traffic lanes going from Mexico into the USA. There is SENTRI but it's not the route in this video.
Bro you had a green light, why did you stop?
They flagged me for inspection bro. I have a cabover camper on my truck and they look inside.
Thank you so much going In a couple days and my mom is driving back.
What are you doing in Tecate??
El amor 😂
Thank you for the info we were super lost there. We tried to follow the navigation but we’re really nervous. Also we tried to get in line through a street which looked the same as the one along the border but there were many and a vendor let us know that we were Gng to get stopped and after receive a ticket. I hoped to have the name of every street we were on to get to the destination but we were so nervous getting lost or going the wrong way that I stopped recording. Thanks for your time 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Do you have to return your fmm card when you leave Mexico?
No, but if you have a TIP for the vehicle,, that must be canceled before leaving Mexico.
Is this the ready lane, sentri, or all traffic.
All traffic
No SENTRI ?
