    That’s not a bolt it’s a dewie dag, number 7 or 8, a threaded dowl Mainly used for construction drilling, a bolt is a rebar is paddle bolt, cone bolt, MDX bolt, dowls are totally different

    Omg I remember like it was yesterday. I had these 3 HUGE trees right in front of my house and I was scared to death about it because I was only like almost 5. I remember hiding under my blankets and my brother giving me a granola bar, but I had to come out because I couldn't open it lol.

    Excellent video and narration! Also watched a few of Slivy58's dash cam videos and am totally impressed, particularly with the dual video which shows the difference in weather/snow on both March 3rd and 4th along the identical route, as per the scenery and the GPS stamp at the bottom of the video. Great dash camera the DOD LS430W. Best....SHUMBA

    i lived in cranbrook for nearly 10 years and there are 2 storms that stand out clear as day from my time there. The one on July 27 2010 and this one, just completely awestruck at the power of mother nature.

  • @Elky64
    @Elky64 10 років тому

    Yes the bolt shown here is only 6ft but they range from 4-12ft depending on the ground conditions, so if 8ft sucks then I'd assume12ft bolts must suck more lol. This particular machine is no longer in use (early 70's vintage), we now have a Getman scissor unit that was also given wings.

    Nice job changing to a longer drill steel. That is some heavy gauge wire you got there. When was mining in the Leadville, CO district, we used chain link fence and split set bolts.

    My bad... Should have said rebar bolts are not the correct product for our application, we use DYWIDAG Threadbar #6 (19mm) through #8 (44mm) in conjunction w/resin with 12' #8s being the norm. I'm no expert here as I'm just "the mechanic" (HD Mechanic by trade) as the boys would say and I have a lot of respect for them and the work they do.

  • @fenhrir
    @fenhrir 11 років тому

    When you say material you mean it shouldn't be steel? I'm a green in mining 3 months old! :) Depending on the ground we use threaded rebars with a nut hold in place by a cutter pin, we stick the rebar in the hole with resine once it freeze we give a couple of shot of the stoper to break the pin and thight it in place. For molding the screen we use split set or rock bolts.
