    It is a very elegant concept, which, in my opinion, brilliantly solves the problem of efficient combustion design and its simple execution with the given material and shape. While maintaining the rigidity of the barrel. It could be standardised. Two small additions I would add to my own version. At the bottom, at the side wall of the barrel, a swinging door fixed by wire at the top edge will facilitate ignition from below. At last a 15 cm high iron grate is placed in the barrel to help air flow in more freely. Thank you very much for the idea!

    Nice video! If you still have this, would you be able to tell me where the wires go on the back side of the engine? In the manuals, it appears there are two wires coming from the magneto, one to the stop button, and another to the TCI unit. Would you be able to confirm?

    Did this start on 1 pull after cleaning? We have this exact model, in fact we're giving it away today to a friend. It takes about 35 pulls to start it. So it's getting gas. Would this possibly be the same thing happening with our carburetor?

    • @Boonerp
      @Boonerp 3 місяці тому

      Could be the same problem. My generator became progressively hard to start, followed by rough idling and then it refused to start. After cleaning the carburetor the generator started first pull.

      @@Boonerp I'm starting to think it might be the compression release lever's spring has broken. Maybe after 30 pulls it slowly retracts. I don't have the generator anymore but I'll relay it to the new owners. Thanks for responding!

    Definitely NOT a 1950's Jacobsen. Thats a Subaru Robin EC/EY10 engine. Its 1980s. I've got that same engine, a 98cc two stroke in a Savage minibike. Jacobsen called it a "984" for 98cc 4 hp. Now you know.

    Great video. Thanks! Quick question: didn't you have to glue the tiles on the pergola floor?

    • @Boonerp
      @Boonerp Рік тому

      The raised continuous border acts as a retainer, preventing the tiles from moving. So glue isn't required. The last tile in each row is cut 1/8" larger, to compensate temperature related shrinking and the tiles shrinking as they dry. Now the concrete slab had no retainer edge, so gluing the two perimeter rows was required. However I should've glued them all as the tiles have dried like a pencil eraser leaving gaps between the tiles.

Then you might be able to hold the shaft with some vise-grips while you turn the coupling without the fear of breaking something. May need to use heat and a hammer, but you may have to cut it and then replace with new." Hope this helps.

      Is there a factory paint mark on the gear linkage shaft located on the lower end? Like this ua-cam.com/video/1DhqPgRJcws/v-deo.html if yes whilst in neutral adjust the small nut so that the bottom of the nut is located at the top of the paint. If no try adjusting the bottom of the small nut 3 full threads up the lower end gear linkage and tighten the coupler(large nut) to the small nut. Again with the gear selector in neutral.
