When you're feeling like a badass and you imagine yourself walking into a room in slow motion and this song is playing.
Ice Cube - “Can’t Fade Me” brought me here!!!
This has always been one of my favorite songs, period. I bought the album in NYC shortly after its release in 1977. The electric bass solo by Abe Laboriel Sr. is one of a kind and truly original. It’s at once spasmodic and joyful. And Tom Sala’s backbeat is funky as hell. I was fortunate years after the record came out to speak with Bobby Paunetto a couple times on the phone.
1977 - the late Bobby Paunetto from The Bronx. Years later we spoke a couple times on the phone. Unique, excellent electric bass solo by Abe Laboriel Sr.
Bobby's good friend at Berkley College of Music, drummer Tom Sala turned me onto his music tonight. Tom learned much from Bobby. I felt the love and respect...thank you brother!
Hopefully I won’t have to knock once I get there.
The 45 King uses this in one of their rap tunes circa 1989. Can remember the name of the track
This right here and Chocolate Buttermilk are both off of the charts.🎼🎶

With a lisp
💜N´Dea's version of this song... slays me every time. Damn girl! ...such a great album!
I haven't found any official lyrics, but what I hear is: Time is closing In on earth So we strive for greatness Never giving up Strength Life Truth Time is closing In on earth So we strive for greatness Never giving up Strength Life Truth
"earth" should be "us," it's a lot clearer in some of the live performances.
5:27 I'm ascending into space
