Lift update and review
Переглядів 1,5 тис.9 місяців тому
Quick update on the Eibach lift. Long term review.
I just bought a 2010 lx570 with 200k miles, didn’t know the suspension was so complicated but it does sound like it’s a solid system, mine rides well but looking to go to a standard coil over or strut system in the future. Is there a kit or any recommendations for suspension to use and how I found a video how to turn off any codes for ahc by unplugging the ecu in the drivers side trunk. Thanks for the help.
The lift that I use in my video has been really good for me and it didn’t really break the bank. I just googled and found the video that shows how to disconnect the fuse under the hood and pull the wire from the ECM that’s located in the rear driver side door frame, it was super easy to do.
How much would you think a 2010 Lexus lx with 200K should go for? I think 20K is a little too much, what do you think?
@@sab35263 20k might be high but without knowing the details of the Lx it’s hard to say
@@4JOutffiters its black like yours and has the same options
@@sab35263stock with stock wheels? If the service history is good then 18-20k is the going price. Mine has aftermarket wheels and tires with the AHC deleted. I think mine would bring less money because it not stock. Just my opinion.
@@4JOutffiters yea i get it, market on these things is crazy right now
People need to stop delete the AHC system and just properly set it up, instead of just throwing coilovers at it. The AHC system is amazing if done right. Throw some spring preload spacers on it and some spacers on the top of the hats to get the pressures all equalized at the higher ride height and weight. Also, replace the globes. A 200,000 miles truck will probably need new globes which is probably 99% of the reason for the poor ride.
I’m sure my system needed new parts but with the added weight of bumper and winch I know it would stress the new part and fatigue them rather quickly. You are correct before I added the bumper and winch and other items the AHC worked great and I loved the self leveling when I would haul a trailer.

@@4JOutffiters That bumper doesnt add anymore weight than my bike rack to the rear suspension and mine doesnt ride bad when loaded. Hell I put thirty 30 lb bags of mulch in the back of my LX last night and it still rode pretty well. The secret would be to put a preload spacer on the springs so that the springs take more of the load of the bumper at ride height.
I had the metal Toyota spacer when I still had the AHC installed. Yes It helps with the add weight. If you want to keep AHC then keep it but this video is for anyone that doesn’t want to keep it. Also I hope you are talking about a dirt bike because I wouldn’t want to ride a bicycle that weights 150-200 pounds.
What a beauty!!!!
Do you have a parts list on this? Iv been looking at doing it and haven’t seen anything on someone deleting the ach
Yes. You can watch my other video that talks about the lift and UCA that I used. Eibach lift and Nitro upper control arms
Dont delete AHC unless you plan on wheeling the truck super hard. AHC is awesome. People complaining about it riding rough is probably on high mile trucks that need the globes replaced and/or have not taken care of replacing the fluid. The AHC fluid I believe is supposed to be replaced somewhat regularly. They are a wear item. A lot of people on ih8mud replace them at ~150k miles.
Jealous!
what kind of bumper do you have installed ?
It’s a Ironman that I cut and removed the bull bar. Then I had it repainted to match the Lexus black.
Those Chevy & GMC square body models were produced from 1973 through 1991 except the half ton & three quarter ton plain cab pickups were finished in 1987 & the one ton plain cab pickups were finished in 1989.

Suspension fluid? You mean KDSS hydraulic fluid? If you wanted a nice ride you should have left it stock.
No I meant Toyota AHC fluid. It’s a type of hydraulic fluid. The LX version of the 200 series did not have the KDSS. I don’t think the KDSS has a fluid but could be wrong. I thought it was some kind of sway bar damper. Not sure
@@4JOutffiters Ah, yes, I forgot that the LX570 had that. It sounds like a good system. The KDSS system uses hydraulic fluid that as the wheels articulate it disconnects the sway bars for greater wheel travel and articulation, to keep the tires in contact with the ground. I don't think the LX570's came with that. Just the 200 series LC and some GX460's and Prado 150's. Keep up the great work!
I'm still on AHC .been almost 3 years since adding bumpers whinch and long travel arms. I do enjoy being able to have a moderate ride hight around town, low at highway speeds and haven a taller ride height when on the trail. The car does 6 trips a year... each trip we get about 32-48 hours of straight rock. System does flash service AHC after a few hours but goes away an hour into ride home. I do have king 3.0s for a tundra just waiting on a AHC failure... but it just keeps functioning. Very hardie system
I need some help deleting the AHC from my 09 lx570. I've had a ton of issues w/ it. I need some recommendations on how to delete and and what to delete it with.
Thank you for the video
It's frustrating that the 2013 and up had the door bumper trim bolted to the door rather than simply taped on. I like the look when they're removed.
Sweet vid! Did you do the LC200 lift and replace everything with LC stuff? Also, if you don't mind me asking, how much did it all $$$? Thank you
Nice , What transmission are you using?
4L60 with factory 80 transfer case.
Excellent I pulled a 5.3 with 4l60 plus all the wiring out of a yukon, and thinking of putting it in my lx450
Awesome. Thanks for sharing. Planning on the same engine and tranny set up as you. Please tell me what wiring harness and engine mounts you used. Also, would it be easier to place the tranny and transfer case in first and then the engine?
Where did you buy the 1/2" Toyota spacers? Great video. Thank you
I ordered them from a Toyota dealer online. I’m sure you could find the part # on Mud.
Nice work. Actually looks good.
Thanks! Yes it would be the same process for the LX version.
Truck looks stunning. How much was invested into the ls swap. Will you do the same swap for an lx450?
Very nice insight. I have had a sensor lift and 34s on my LX for a few years now and feeling like the AHC system is close to exhausted. Curious what front bumper you are running?
Thanks for the comment. It’s a Ironman that I had the bull bar cut off and all of the holes filled in. Without the bull bar you can tuck it in more so it doesn’t have that under bite look. I also had it painted the same paint code as the rest of the truck.
@@4JOutffiters very cool. I heard you mention iron man in the video but was thrown off without the upper grill guard section. Looks much nicer. Paint match is a good call too.
Great to see more people still tinkering with suspension on the Lx570. Great video !
I'm on the fence with whether to sell my LX 470 with Ironman 2.5" lift that replaced AHC to get a LX 570 with AHC. Without the front bumper and just a sensor lift and aggressive tires would it still be okay offroad? Wife has a 2015 Land Cruiser and it rides like a dream. My LX 470 rides like a box truck... any happy medium with what you've got going on since you experienced both?
I like my current setup. I think stock AHC with stock tires and the 570 would ride as good or better as your wife’s LC. Add 285’s, sensor lift and a front bumper and the 570 will drive like your 470 box truck. The setup I have is the middle ground. I recently went up in tire air pressure and it took out even more body roll. It rides smooth on the highway and handles the rough spots with less bounce. The only thing about the AHC I miss was the rear auto leveling when trailering.
@@4JOutffiters Are you considering putting airbags in your rear spring to level with heavy loads? Could I message you about AHC delete, I have 2015 570?
Not sure. I have three options for the rear, air bags, upgrade the rear springs to the heavy duty ones that eibach offers or go 2024 LC. yes, feel free to message me.
@@4JOutffiters I wish I could afford the 2024 LC, but that’s not in the cards for me. Seems like airbags would be the cheapest option and would allow you to retain your existing suspension, when not pulling a trailer or loaded down. I think you can get an airbag kit for as low as $150 you get what you pay for. thank you for your information. I appreciate it.
Re ride quality, I put LT285/70r17 Wildpeak AT’s on with Icon wheels and my LX570 definitely felt more sluggish and less responsive on highways. But off-road much better grip and confidence doing the passes in southern Colorado. Braking also got worse but will have the shop take a look at the ABS. The vehicle looks great with the 33” tires and wider stance and sliders, a lot of compliments on looks and trail worthiness. But I will probably put the stock wheels and tires on when not on off-road trips. Mileage was about 1.5 mpg worse, so heavier wheels will make a noticeable difference.
since you have removed AHC .. did you remove the wires that are connected to AHC system .. once you remove it, the alarms related to AHC will disappear from the dashboard
I just unplugged the connectors on the shocks and sensors. Then I unplugged a wire that is in the rear driver side panel. I also pulled a fuse in the fuse box underneath the hood. There is a UA-cam video that explains. My dash looks like a regular 200 series now.
where is that exact video I’ve done this to my lx but my dashboard now looks like a chistmas tree
Before that disconnect the battery for 15 min and reconnect @@LtDan-jk7ib
@@4JOutffitersdo you have the videos for that conversion to delete ahc and prevent error lights? Just got a 200k mile lx570 and excited to convert it and make it solid
@@strike0909 I actually watched a video online that showed me how to do it. You pull a fuse under the hood and then disconnect a wire in the rear driver side door frame it’s super easy
Thanks for the comment! The ride with just sensor lift and A/T tires was fine, factory like. When I add the extra weight of the front bumper and winch is when I started having problems. If I would have keep the sensors at stock height and added the bumper/winch it probably would have been ok but can’t confirm that. I do know adding weight and doing sensor lift really over worked the AHC system and fatigue, the fluid, and possibly globes.
Yes you can do sensor lift OR add weight like a steel bumper. That’s precisely why I never lifted my LX470.
Good info in your video 👍. Question: as far as the sensor lift goes, before you deleted your AHC, how did it ride overall? This is before the spacers, just with doing the sensor lift. I am very interested in doing just the sensor lift on my 2010 LX570 as I did add an AT tire and would like to add just a mild lift without sacrificing too much of the ride quality. Thanks
I have already done the sensor lift because I installed 285-70-R17 tires , sensor lift the car approx 1 or 1.5 inch something like that ... ride quality was the same for me
Looks great! Did you make those power steering hoses yourself? Haven't been able to get my sorted out yet.
It’s the factory GM hose that was on the motor.
