Vitra S20 loose soft close seat
Demonstrates how to tighten a loose soft close toilet seat on a Vitra S20 toilet. The toilet is back to the wall design so the tightening has to take place with the seat removed from its mountings. This particular seat has chrome caps on the end of the hinge mechanism. These caps must be slipped off to allow the seat to be lifted off to gain access to the fixing screws.

Nice 1 I was struggling to find which toilet seat we had lmao
Thank you very much men! Even though I have a bit different setting it helped me figure out what to do!
Cheers it was very useful
thanks so much. my seat doesn't click back on after... are my screws too far/too close apart? also I think the screw that needs to be tightened needs to be close to the upright bit at the side of the circle?
Thanks for this! However, my issue is one of the posts has completely come out of the toilet, and can't see anything for the screw to grab on to. Any ideas?
The metal things that go on at the end keep slipping off now and again. Which means the seat ends up coming off when people are sat on the toilets sometimes. Any way to stop this happening??
Thank you!
Very helpful. Have adjusted the seat. Thanks😊
oh
Thank you very much - so easy to follow - was scratching my head to work out how to tighten the seat without causing damage !
Could not see any way to adjust loose seat, but this video explained clearly what to do and the instructions were easy to follow. Problem solved. Thanks very much!
Thanks to this channel I found how do this as this was a new one to me tighted the seat up and one job done perfect
Thanks, helped me to fix it very quickly.
Great video. Used it to tighten loose seat. However I'm commenting on the quality of Vitra. Under both metal caps there is corrosion. Makes the seat look dirty. Bought Vitra as i thought it was a branded. Which seats are better?
Thank you very much, I’ve been looking for a while, and the moving bezel is really disturbing.
Thank you very much ; I was seriously frustrated by this seat .Very useful
Thanks so much! Been looking for instructions all over because i could not find the darn release!
This is great info as I have been struggling to get the seat off. Thought I was there in fixing it, however when I go to tighten the screw on the Black circle, the screw is just going round and round and not tightening. Any ideas??
Have u tried replacing the screw and see if that works ?? 🤷🏻♂️
thank you, wow that's was quick and simple.
Hello I am a huge fan of Pierce Antony and am going to toilet cleaning live .
Love the seat. allmy.tips/TOTOTeseat?great Original had issues with the loud deodorizer fan that couldn't be turned off but it turned out the setting to turn it off was somewhat hidden in the menu system that wasn't clearly noted as the manual is for both the s300 and the s350. now that i can turn off the feature i find this bidet sublime. bought a second one for the other bathroom in the house.
very nice
When changing a float valve on these toilets how do you take the cistern off? Do you have to pull the who pan out? Thanks
Thank you for this video. It helped me solved my 'loose toilet seat' problem in no time!
Super. Thank you
Many thanks. I was really struggling with this until I saw your video. I had visions of having to take the pan off the wall and demolishing the bathroom, You have saved my sanity/sanitaryware.
Thank you!!! This was most useful.
Thank you this has been driving me insane! So simple when you're taught how!
Thanks for this - I was fiddling underneath to look for some wing nuts. Without your video, I wouldn't have had a chance.
Same here mate on the wing nut. I'm no fool but thought this tightens from under the cap. A check up on how I thought is was done and I was right. Took about 2mins. Bless utube.
Very helpful. Thanks for the video
Thanks for this. Before this video I was getting seasickness whilst taking a Bertie. Now my visits to thunderbox are the calming, sedate events a gentleman has come to look forward to once more.
Only The Biggest Hits on ELEANOR TV HD! I’ve been puzzlingly
How to tighten this up got a long time. It was so easy thanks to this helpful video
Thanks!!!
Very useful, simple when you know how.
Thanks for the video - I have to say though that it took me 1hr 45m to get those silver caps to slide off. Mine look like they've been mauled to within an inch of their lives now. Of course, it's a toilet seat so it's going to get cleaner on it, which corrodes the inside of the caps and effectively "welds" them to the plastic piece they slide onto. I'd never, ever buy any product by the makers of this seat as clearly, there's no thought involved in the design at all. Truly terrible.
Hi, i'm having the exact same problem - i can't remove the silver caps, they are stuck onto the seat fixings. Because i can't get the caps off, i can't get to the screw head to re-tighten the fixings to the basin. How on earth did you eventually get the caps off?!
Chaps, i had the same problem initially; had to use a flat head screwdriver + WD40 + some elbow grease to get the damn thing off!
Where is the water supply connected on this toilet - the back of the cistern or underneath the cistern?
On the back.
