Yo Linda,I think you miss some things more than others 😂☺️
I was born in Brooklyn in 1940.It is still a special place to live.
Yo Linda!! I'm going to be a totally terrible UA-camr and say... Like , subscribe and share to make your own decision!! Ok. Ok. I'm not that good at that yet but I'll say this...I think Brooklyn is great and terrible at the same time for many reasons. Ok ok ... Watch my channel to see why ... 🤔 Ah... I'm still not good enough at that part 😏 Anyway... I do hope you continue to watch , comment and all that stuff of course but I will say this to you now... It's changed obviously such as anywhere else in the country but we both know Brooklyn will always be home to you in your heart ❤️ Forget about it! Ya know what I'm talking about baby!!! 😎😉
I was born in Brooklyn, in 1944. Lived and worked there until 2011. Brooklyn was the best place to grow up in. Unfortunately, it didn’t change for the better. In 2011 I lost my wife and took a leap to Florida, something I should have done sooner. Now NY has turned in Gotham City, so sad, it really was a beautiful town. Great video, thanks….. 🌴
Hey thanks... I don't get a lot of views and no money doing this but a comment like this makes me feel Great. I did 2 winters in St Pete Beach doing a job and loved it myself . Remember though nowhere is the same as it once was and Brooklyn still is a great place for so many reasons. Yo... Bro... Help me out if ya can and like, subscribe and spread the word ..... ya know what I'm saying 😂😎... Or whatever 😏

Since being a kid growing up on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, I’ve gone to Coney Island. Back in the 1950s and 60s, we’d travel on the old rattan seats of the hot BMT trains from Canal Street to Coney Island. The good old Wonder Wheel, Cyclone roller coaster were there then and are still there today. Unfortunately, only the tower of the Parachute Jump is still standing. The salt water pool of Ravenhall and the Steeplechase are gone. However, after years of decline, Coney Island is BACK, with a rebuilt Stillwell Avenue Subway Terminal and clean, modern, air conditioned trains to get you there. F, D, N, Q spell ICONIC when the destination signs on the trains ready “CONEY ISLAND.”
When I was managing a restaurant in the city I had many a great night in the les after work or on a night off and boy I miss it. The les is so different now I know those nights are gone ... Also I'm old now and all that stuff 😏 55 is not a good age to hangout down there or really anywhere 😭 Oh. Sorry sorry. Just wanted to complain 😕 I'm a very small channel and comments such as this is the best thing about doing this. If I can bring good memories to some people it's better than money. I try to be diverse in my videos as I think you see and I hope you continue to watch, like and comment. Subscribe too... I'm getting better at asking people to subscribe 😐😂 Anyho.... Keep watching!! Bedford-Stuyvesant, or Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn . A neighborhood with rich history, culture, and love. It may not be perfect for everyone, but for me, I love it. Would I want my girlfriend or a daughter walking around certain parts at night? No. But I had some of the best times of my life there myself and made friends that I can't describe although they usually said 5/0 until I was introduced 😏😂. That Chinese restaurant was the first time I saw a Chinese restaurant that serves ethnic food besides Chinese too. Chicken thighs and wings with plantains were probably the most served dish. And never forget the hot sauce 😎 I helped start the BED-STUY pitbull association at that dog park and began a restaurant and assisted in others. I enjoyed many events at the outdoor theater too. From its brownstone-lined streets to its people, Bed-Stuy truly lives up to its motto.. The origins of modern graffiti trace back to the late 1960s in Philadelphia and New York City with "tagging," where individuals wrote their nicknames or monikers on public surfaces to gain recognition. Early pioneers like Cornbread in Philadelphia and Taki 183 in NYC popularized this style, using simple, quick signatures to mark their presence. As graffiti grew in popularity, artists began expanding their styles in the 1970s, particularly in New York, where subway trains became moving canvases. The art form evolved from basic tags to elaborate "pieces" (short for masterpieces), incorporating bold colors, stylized lettering, and unique characters. Crews or collectives formed, fostering competition and innovation. By the 1980s, graffiti gained global attention, moving beyond illegal street art to galleries and exhibitions, thanks to artists like Jean-Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring. Modern graffiti art now spans a spectrum, from street tagging to intricate murals and commercial art, blending urban expression with mainstream culture. It remains a symbol of rebellion, creativity, and cultural commentary. #short #art #cities #tagging
Without these 3 bridges Manhattan and Brooklyn would never have become as great as they are today for so many reasons. So many lives were given a new destiny. What is your favorite? 1.Brooklyn Bridge (1883): The most iconic bridge, known for its Gothic-style towers and suspension design. 2. Manhattan Bridge (1909): A suspension bridge just north of the Brooklyn Bridge, popular for its views of the city. 3. Williamsburg Bridge (1903): A suspension bridge connecting Williamsburg in Brooklyn to Manhattan's Lower East Side. #brooklynbridge #williamsburg #manhattan #brooklynhistory #history
