If you are looking to improve the turkey population on your land then you have to deal with predators. Coyotes, bobcats and foxes can decimate your turkeys. That's ridiculous, so you're saying you're gonna spend a fortune on a crossbow, but don't shoot it. Cause it's not made to be shot. Why would you spin that kind of money on a crossbow? If you can't shoot it. In my opinion, if you can't shoot it like you would like to be able to shoot it. Why buy it

      Well, they all need some maintenance but if you want easy to take care of the Excalibur is tough to beat. Less moving parts to go bad and only one string that’s very easy to replace. Super durable as well.

      Those are older videos. The end of last year I got an email from TenPoint that stated this is the “final” word on it. 1. Back wind 1 time 2. Push down the lock button 3. Turn the brake counter clockwise (usually half a turn). That’s the way I had been showing everyone to do it anyway but I didn’t want to put it out on a video and contradict the company. But with the new TRX 515 that the instructions going forward on all the Acuslide models.

    Ridiculous price. I have a PCP air rifle good for 10 shots that puts a heavier arrow on target at 500+ & only takes 10 seconds to reload. Light refill air tank good for 3 or 4 fills. Guess what? This thing only costs $750.00 + $300.00 (air tank & compressor to keep it running), which is less than $1200.00.😢

    • @TrinityWild

      I’ve shot a few of those and I really like them. But the fact you can’t use them here during archery season makes them almost impossible to sell. Which one are you shooting at 500+ ? The ones I’ve shot were right at 450 and were super accurate. Maybe I need to do a review on one.

    • @TrinityWild
      @TrinityWild День тому

      @@flesby I haven't seen many issues as of yet but it's not been out very long. And I do not disagree with you, I still think the engineering has out paced the components. There is just so much tension and power being stored in those limbs and cables it's tough to build components that can handle it. That being said, Tenpoint has awesome customer service so if things do go wrong they always seem very willing to make things right.

    • @MonkeyTime-kq1bs
      @MonkeyTime-kq1bs 21 день тому

      @@ceciltorres6906honestly I was a little disappointed in the “out of the box” accuracy. The 460 you mentioned is an absolute tack driver. For Xbows that shoot over 500 fps I think the engineering has out paced the components. I’ll know more on this one down the road but as of now, I’d probably agree with you.

    • @ceciltorres6906
      @ceciltorres6906 21 день тому

      @MonkeyTime-kq1bs yes. Speed is very sexy to a lot of people like it was to me, but when I bought the 505, I discovered that speed is not as valuable as people think. More speed is more problem with tuning and durability of equipment, not to mention price of equipment. This is a big discussion that we can go into a rabbit hole but for the most part just know that from 370 to 400 fps and a 450 to 500 grain arrow is plenty of speed for an easy tuning a bit more fun when you get to practice way more n not having to worried on wearing down your strings. I sold my 505. I just now have the 460 .

The deal i got from them bow, scope, 9 extra bolts 3 of wich has lighted nocks plus the 3 you get with the bow from Tenpoint, a Tenpoint soft case, a pack of broadheads, and a high quality target I got for less from Wyvern Creations than if you order from Tenpoint. 4,999.99 from Wyvern Creations, and if you get the bow from Tenpoint which was over 5 thousand.

    • @dwainwarren2952
      @dwainwarren2952 Місяць тому

      @@TrinityWild It's deadly accurate. Especially with the garmin xero scope. The design is well thought out, and the railess system seems to make the bolts fly truer. The reverse draw of the 515 sure zings those bolts out there with a lot of force. One thing I think they should have thought out a little better is how you store the crank handle for the accuracy Maxx. You have to mount in on them top or bottom picatinny rail with holder. If you get it you will see what I mean.

So almost 90 days now since the “STOP SHOOTING THE R500 IMMEDIATELY”, not 1 crossbow repaired. Horrible. When there's no rooster, the flock leader will assume more masculine traits, stop laying eggs, even crow and tidbit. The sexual dimorphic roles are incredibly strong for the survival of the flock, so if the flock thinks all the males are "dead" due to predation, leading hen in the pecking order will take the rooster job to safeguard the others. These changes will reverse if you reintroduce a rooster to the flock. It's incredible what nature will do when it cones to survival!

    You were adjusting the FOCUS RING in the beginning of the video. This DOES NOT give eye relief. It ONLY adjusts the focus for a clear sight picture. And you DON’T have to use Ravin arrows. They are an expendable accessory, just like strings and cables. If you use strings cables or arrows of the same or in most times better quality, they don’t have a leg to stand on.

      You are correct. I call that eye relief all the time and it’s not. However, being a dealer I really can’t direct people to use “off brand” bolts or strings. If something were to go wrong while using a different brand you void your warranty. Thank you for watching.

    Using a level on the scope works. However, if you don’t have a second level, you can hang a string from the ceiling with a small bolt or washer for a weight and line the vertical crosshair up with that. Using this method is far superior to using a level because as you showed in the video, turret caps aren’t always flat and sometimes neither are the turret wheels. As far as making windage and elevation adjustments, you don’t have to guess how many clicks to move either one. Fire your first shot from a solid, steady rest. If the arrow doesn’t hit the exact spot you are aiming at, put the crosshair where you were aiming, and while the bow is in a solid rest, adjust the crosshairs to move to cover the arrow you just shot. As far as the speed adjustment goes, Dave at Wyvern Creations has the simplest video I’ve seen on in speed, adjustable scopes. One thing to keep in mind is make sure the cables split the timing dots evenly and that your ATA measurement stayed at 10 1/2. If the string and or cables stretch that will throw off your ATA which in turn will make the bow slightly slower and throw off your yardage tapes.

      Dude, that’s all great stuff. Since this is specific to Ravins most all their scopes have a good flat turrets except that sniper scope. But thanks for sharing the what I’ve called a tight line method. I do that as a quick set up at my shop, but I’m sure someone here can use that. Same goes for the windage and elevation adjustment technique. I usually only do that if I use a Bog Pod which I didn’t have. I don’t like to do that unless I can really lock it in. I’ve seen the guy from Wyvern, that is a really good video. In fact I may add a link to it in my description. All the cam timing stuff I’ll do in video #4, I’ve got some crazy examples of some jacked up Ravins. lol Thank you so much for watching and especially for your input. All really good stuff.

      Great video. I know of 2 people that 3D print a tool for that very thing. Bill Shields, AKA Big Bird and Jim Walton at Backyard Broadheads. I have both and they work perfectly.

      Wax those strings and lube that rail and you should be fine.
