I am such a women. Having come through many ups and downs and challenges. I've always sat quietly and looked with my minds eye at the things that I don't need in my life. I like my independence. I don't mind my own company, and can walk away from the crowd to gather myself. That's not to say I don't enjoy being with family and very close friends who are friends for, forever. So I can so relate to what Denzel is talking about.I cry hard I hurt hard, but watch out next time round. I just don't suffer fools. Amen.

I’d say childhood trauma helped prepare me for walking alone. It was a blessing in many ways. It helped create the female I am.

I had to cut out my 3 brothers unfortunately. We're all close in age. They didn't like when I did better than they did in anything though (my entire life), and if they did do better in something themselves.....I was happy for them, but rather they just tried to use it as a tool to further hurt me somehow. Weirdos. Banded together even. 3 against 1. Death by numbers if not being able to do it alone. I used to get more depressed about it. Yet all of this is exactly what I had to get to. Emotions and all. Mainly it came after my mom died. A day after her death and the oldest still kept testing me before I had to rise up to him, again, which he didnt like as it did not work out too well for him. Then when my dad was getting re-married later on, as he should with everything he has gone through in life....they tried to be my buddy all of a sudden. Have me turn on my dad with them behind the scenes of course and play games not making his new wife welcome in the family. I said no. Stood up and let my dad know exactly what was going on. Obviously they didnt like that. So back to their shunning. Every time prior was me trying to patch things up eventually. Bring everyone together. I was not perfect, made a lot of mistakes, and even more changes. Save the years lost with that and all the inner emotions over and over only to arrive at the all too familiar never ending similar points if you can. If they dont want it (a real relationship) they dont want it. Move on. Which I have now, and couldn't be happier. Doing better than all of them combined. You can bet that just makes them hate me even more. Oh well. They can work hard to make their own changes, or not, and if not.....I just refuse to attempt to go through nor be around the drama. Might seem sad, but it all is what it is. Where I am finally mentally is lightyears better to what I consider an old life I do no regret not wanting to go back to. Not for one second. The only thing I care about is myself, my wife, my dad, those who want to be around me, vice versa, and those I can help not having to go through the same. Take it or leave it.
