Fallout 4 : Is Mama Murphy a Crazy Fashion Victim?
Wow! This is a cool start. After you placed the plane and train pieces, I thought, "Oh cool! Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. Like the plane crashed intothe train whi crashed into the bus, which crashed into automobiles. This is neat." Then I saw how you were building this, and it is really cool. I'm reminded of ' lSanford and Son' (based on the British comedy 'Steptoe and Son'. I'm not actually *that* old. But I watched, and love, British comedy from PBS as I was growing up. Comedy and documentaries. I was raised by television. Latch-key kid). I'm looking forward to what you do here. As an aside, after I thought, "Ohh. Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. " I thought, "That would be an interesting build challenge. Build at a settlement using a movie title as the basis or inspiration." I don't know how well that would do. I have made build challenges before, and most everyone thought poorly of them. (Honestly, the only one I can recall off the yop of my head was regarding model kit building. But I know I came up with at least one for Fallout 4. No one liked it. 🤷♀️ But then you have seen what I build, and heard my sense of humor. 😏😄 Anyway, wonderful start to your settlement. Be Excellent and Party on, my friend. 🤘😎🎸
This video should have way more views! Well done settlement. And by the way roundabout how many settlers are in this settlement? And is there a way of expanding the settler limitations on ps with a mod?
Thank you for your comment. For my part, I'm surprised that a video of more than 1 hour works so well, on my scale anyway! I use the Cheat Terminal Mod which allows me to spawn as many settlers as I want, but I know that it's not a mod available for PS. I also use USO Mod which also allows you to spawn settlers, which is available for PS it seems to me (Vault 440 which is a builder on PS uses it, but I don't know if the functionalities are the same as on PC). I hope I helped you! PS : They're 251 settlers!
@@TOJIAB1 very helpful thank you🙏
This house looks amazing. It reminds me of a Frank Lloyd Wright house. One of the other versions of the 'House of the Future' designs. Fantastic build. I haven't built anything lately using the Sanctuary Homes parts. But watching you go through Bill Dorder is giving me some ideas. My early Sanctuary settlement builds (including while I played on Xbox) when I rebuilt the Sanctuary homes "utilizing scavenged parts from the destroyed houses", I didn't know about having interior and exterior walls snapping into place when certain parts of the floor were removed. So I placed all the walls "by hand" as I couldn't get them to snap lined up. Watching you build totally reminded me how to build that way. Thank you. I need to do some more build videos. I'm trying to decide if I should start another settlement build series. If so, I was thinking of building in my least favorite place: Hangman's Alley. *But* I have some building ideas that will only work there. Sort of pre-war, but post-war. Or should I just do another final tour video after I finish? 🤔 I kind of want to show the process; including me trying to figure out what I actually want to try and build in the locations I've scouted out. lol And yet.... You have done a lovely job on this house. Congratulations, I love it! Be Excellent and Party on, my friend. 🤘😎🎸
I sincerely thank you for your compliments, it is precious coming from someone brilliant. Wow, you know Frank Lloyd Wright! I really like these constructions, extremely modern, refined. I like this stripped down, almost brutalist style, a bit like Bauhaus! My first use of this mod was complicated. Parts that snap only under certain conditions irritate me a little. But we do everything, I find myself more comfortable with this mod now. For my part, I will be enthusiastic to follow you on a series of a settlement building just as I find it pleasant to visit your finished creations. The fact that you seem comfortable in front of a microphone enriches the experience of the visits, so a series where you give us your thoughts, your plans, where you comment on what you do would be a great format! It's funny that you talk about Hangman Alley, I'm working, among other things, on a project along the same lines as you. With the Snappy mod I reconstructed part of the neighborhood, as if it had been only slightly affected by the disaster. I'll be really curious to see what you do with this settlement! In any case, just a visit or a whole series on a settlement building, I will come and see!
@@TOJIAB1 Thank you. 😊 Oh, yes, Frank Lloyd Wright. Amazing architect. I haven't studied him much, but I know a bit about him and his incredible designs. *Chef's kiss 🤌 I'm glad that I come across in my videos well. None of it is scripted. Pretty much flow of consciousness recordings. Some I have to restart multiple times as it comes across too jumbled, or really going away from the intended idea for the episode. But once I can reel my brain in a bit to stay on top...SQUIRREL!...topic then I just build and narrate as it happens. I get a bit nervous about uploading videos like that. But I also feel like they are more natural. More real. You are watching how a mad woman (🤪😆) creates art in real time. 'I'm going to place this here becau...wait...no...that part doesn't look right there. I thought it would. Hang on. Let me see if I can find the correct piece I see in my mind...hang on...damn. Which tab is it under...uff da.' I sometimes fear people don't like that. But then I get occasional comments that say they enjoy my scattered build style. I'm glad that I come across as comfortable in front of the microphone. Thank you. 😊 Hangman's Alley always bothered me as a location with fully intact building that we couldn't use. That raiders built junk homes outside, instead of opening up the boarded over doors and got out of the rain. That we couldn't use any of the buildings at all. On one of my profiles I am using a brand new Hangman's settlement mod that does open up two of the buildings, while not breaking precombines. It looks great. But I'm planning to use one of my characters (probably ICE CREAM!) to build within the Vanilla Hangman's. But to add some pre-war buildings we can enter. Also utilizing Snappy House Kits parts where applicable. 😊 I don't know how well it will work. But I thought some might enjoy seeing the process of trying to build what I see in my mind's eye. 🤷♀️ I'm grateful that you would like to go on that ride. Thank you. 😊 Be Excellent and Party on, my talented friend. 🤘😎🎸
how do you move the items up and down without moving the camera? 12:06
I play on PC. I block the object with the "E" key and use the mouse wheel to move up or down. EDIT : Oups sorry... In fact I use the "place everywhere" mod. When I aim at the object, I just have to use up or down on the numeric keypad (I choose the movement level with "/" or "*").
@@TOJIAB1 Thankyou so much, this is gonna be game changing for my builds
@@RoF_SI My pleasure, hope you'll share your builds with us!
What an incredible idea to build here, for one thing, but to make it an Atom Cats outpost? Well, THAT is where it's at, Kitty Kat! 😎👍 3:40...um...Are they trying to burn a hole in their floor-roof? 😄 If I may, something I do in my builds is to build/decorate things that make sense, to me. For example, place a flat metal roof down then the campfire. Or put down the wood floor, then a sheet of metal (from the Metal tab in Dead Wasteland). Or, something else I've done with the Armor Workbench with the furnace/firebox, is place down a square of the pink park walkway under the furnace part to keep the grass around it from catching fire. 😅 I truly hope I don't come across negatively. Because I love the awesomeness you have built here. I just shared a small tidbit of the chaos that runs through my head when I build. Even in Fallout. I'm not very good at it. There are better builders than I (I am thinking you are in that category 😊). But I do enjoy building, and I'm doing the best that I can. I like your pin-up art. I used to have Gruffydd's mod, until he removed it from Nexus, and I had to reinstall my Fallout 4 due to crash issues. I've had it stable for about 2 years, but in that time he deleted his mod, and I cannot find another one like his. I love the Videos of the Wasteland mod. I try not to run too many of the TVs at the same time in a settlement in case it will bog down my frame rate, or cause crashing. But I do have it, and I really like Sobering Videos (if one is a fan of Mr. Bean, of course. lol). This place looks amazing. Great to use the crane and scavenged aircraft parts to the decorations. Helps bring this place alive. Great job. 👍👍 My apologies for blathering. I love what you have built here. Be Excellent and Party on. 🤘😎🎸
My apologies, I'm only seeing your comment now due to UA-cam's efficiency. I never take criticism badly, especially if it's constructive. And what you're saying makes perfect sense. I hadn't actually paid attention to it, but a small metal plate or some kind of protection would have been welcome under that fire 😊 I think you're being too hard on yourself, and I don't share your opinion. I think you're very talented in construction, precisely because what you do has meaning, a story, and a real personal touch, and that's precisely why I'm subscribed to your channel! Ah, Nexus and mods. It took me almost two years to tame the beast, between having the right version of the game that goes with the right version of the mod! Quite a story😊 And then last year I changed my PC and took the opportunity to do everything properly. The right versions for everyone. Whereas before my Fallout 4 was highly unstable, it's now (almost) stable. I persevered, but now I have the exact version of the game I wanted! I have an attachment to the Atom Cats that makes me put them everywhere on the map 😋 I see them a bit like scavengers but model A+. Whenever there's mechanics and recovery to be done, they're there! Their next target will be a train 😊 Thank you for your comment, your constructive and clever criticism, and for sharing your work and passion with us. My apologies for blathering, I love that too 😋😋😋
@TOJIAB1 Thank you. Thank you kindly. 😊 Thank you very much for the compliments. I enjoy building in this game and when I see other builders who are exceptional (like you), I tend to become over-critical of myself. I'm grateful that you enjoy my builds, and stories I create for my characters and settlements. I agree with you regarding The Atom Cats. They, like The Silver Shroud, should have had more quest possibilities apart from the small amounts we got for them. I know there are a few mods that sort of add a bit more to The Atom Cats. But it is something about 2nd Gen Synths or something. It didn't look too interesting when I read the mod page at the time. I'm glad someone made a mod that allows your character to "Speak as the Shroud" all the time (well, 99.5% of the time. Sometimes you will talk to a Trader in your Vanilla voice. But most often it is in the Shroud style). That way, even after completing the entire Shroud questline, we can still play the rest of the game *as* the Shroud. 😎👍 It would be fun if we could get a mod like that for The Atom Cats. Speak as The Cats. 😁👍 Having the correct version of the game. Yeah, the most stable version, and the one most all mods work best with, is version 1.10.163. Anything "Next Gen" has broken everything. Thankfully, we on PC can downgrade our game back to 1.10.163 just in case we have to install Fallout 4 again. I had to. I had a stable system. I turned off updates as well as set my game properties to Read-Only to also block Steam and Bethesda from "updating" and breaking my saves, mods, and game. But due to an error on my part, I incorrectly removed a partition on my gaming system causing me to lose 200Gb of hard drive space. So my system has less that 20Gb of Save Space for everything on it. I was fortunate in that I got a new gaming laptop for my birthday this year. *But* that meant I had to download the Next-Gen Update version of Fallout 4. Thankfully, I use The Midnight Ride Installation Guide and it gives us the Downgrader mod in order to get us back to the stable version of the game. 😁🎉 I'm thankful that you took my suggestion as it was, a thought. An idea. I try to be constructive and helpful. Too many people in the past 30 years have been using criticism to bully and demean people (especially Creatives). Then say, "I'm just giving you constructive criticism." And they aren't. It is just mean, has nothing to actually offer ("Your builds would be good if you weren't a girl. What? That's constructive Criticism." "You suck! Your green is too bright. No one uses green there. Grow a thick skin, stupid." Not constructive. Just mean.) So, thank you. I'm glad you took my input as constructive, and not destructive criticism. 🙏 Have yourself a great and safe weekend (Black Friday is very crazy away from home). Be Excellent to each other and Party on. 🤘🎸😎
bruh u tweakin fr
Thanks, I try to do my best 😊
Bill Dorder? Right? 😆 Bill can sometimes mess up a technically easy build by saying, "Nope! I want *this* to go here first. But after *that*." 🙄😄 Such a wonderful build. Tremendous skill you have. Lovely house, well laid out. 👍👍 Than you so much for sharing this with us. Be Excellent and Party on. 🤘😎🎸
Lol, that's exactly it. I can't count the number of times I start a building, happy with what I've done, and when I decide to finish it, I change all or part of it! I try to plan my work, but I keep slipping from my original idea. This is why builds like my Vault 88 Scavengers Town were so easy for me to make! I said to myself, come on, no plan, just instinct! I sincerely thank you for your kind compliments, coming from a quality builder like you I really appreciate it.😉😊
I seriously do not know what you mean about my decorating skill being higher than yours. This place is exceptional! So much detail. So many settlers. And all of them are pathing into areas that has always been very difficult, if not impossible. So another great job to you for that. I truly love what you've built. Especially the 'Love for Rent' area. 😉 I almost always have a small Lover Rental area in my settlements. I have male and female Lovers. To take care of all comers (wink-wink, nudge-nudge 😉). Hancock's place is perfect, including his choice of videos on TV. I love the fishing area, and the irradiated mushroom crops. The ferals harvesting stuff in the Uranium Zone (I forget the correct name. My apologies). All of your Districts are stupendous. Bravo! 👏👏 Be Excellent, my friend, and Party on. 🤘😎🎸
This UA-cam problem again! My apologies for the late reply! Thank you, truly thank you for all these compliments. This Vault 88 is over 200 hours of work, done in stages to avoid becoming obsessive, and without any particular idea at the beginning, except that it shouldn't be Vault-Tec! I wanted the place to be "invaded" by all sorts of people, and for my companions to live there. Alas, I lost Nick Valentine in the operation, Rest in peace, but he's still there through the detective agency where a second-generation synth has taken over 😉 And I wanted the place to be collaborative, because in fact everyone brings something to the others, from the farmer to the handyman, from the intellectual to the manual worker, from the builder to the caregiver, in short, a bit like in the real world after all 😊 Yes, I think you're a very good builder on Fallout 4, because your constructions are very well thought out, very detailed, everything has a meaning, a story, and I rank you in my Top 3 favorite builders. Yes, I often place an adult zone in my settlements, when it makes sense, it's not because these poor people are in a cruel, violent and harsh world that they wouldn't have the right to a little comfort (well, it's priced, but the coffee is free 😋)! Even my ghouls in Jamaica Plain have their little pleasure space 😋😋😋 Once again, thank you for your comment and for sharing your work 😊
@TOJIAB1 Pfff. You Tube, right? Uff da. 🙄 You are very welcome. And, thank you, too. 😊 I will be watching more of your builds. They are amazing. Cheers and Excellence, my talented friend. 🤘😎🎸
super cool idea
Each settlement have his own story. Glad you like it, thanks!
Glad I was able to find your channel, you really do have great builds.. Also, just a heads up, you might want to consider leaving a water mark in / on your videos in one of the corners.. I've seen a lot of stolen videos over the years, and it's hard to get UA-cam to help get them back..
Glad you think I'm doing a good job, thanks. Indeed, your advice is right, I will consider adding a water mark to my videos. Although I am a very small UA-camr, caution is never a bad idea.
Working Time : over 200 hours Tips: x1 reading speed to soak up the atmosphere. X2 for a quick visit. Fun Fact: for some reason, after few hours of work, each time I was in the presence of Nick Valentine, a few meters away at most, my game crashed. Impossible to take him back as a companion, nor to move him to Workshop mode. I had to delete it altogether. Farewell my old friend, R.I.P.
A huge settlement tour of one of my most complete constructions. Each house or shop are detailed, each settler has a task assigned to him, there are numerous NPCs (USO) to populate and bring the settlement to life. That's a total of nearly 120 hours of work. Enjoy.
What mods do you use?
For this settlement, I mainly used SOE, USO, CVC, G2M, I am certainly forgetting some. There is an almost complete list of my mods in the description of my first video. If you play on PC, they are all available on Nexus Mod.
@TOJIAB1 Thanks!
Good building
Thanks, try to do my best!

Yes
I had been planning to make it like they had recovered and restored all the tanks, IFVs and Stingrays across the map. And gotten several tugs and boats to working order.
Thank you for your comment. Like you, I always start a settlement with a story in mind. In this save, The MinuteMen reconquer and restore the castle, their greatest feat of arms, and slowly reorganize themselves. The recovery of material is the responsibility of the Atom Cats (they are almost everywhere in the comonwealth). Each save has its own universe, its own context!
@TOJIAB1 Atom Cats would be important in mine too, for helping them keep and maintain Power Armor. Whether they join the Minutemen, or just become allies, not sure. The Minutemen would focus, after 4, on establishing a solid groundwork for a future government. Infrastructure, military organization, until eventually the settlements band together and create a government. All this time, the Minutemen would be fully aware that their efforts will eventually be absorbed into a government that forms, so no schisms happen in the ranks. When the government is formed, the Minutemen would be absorbed to create the beginnings of the military, and the Railroad would likely become an intelligence organization.
@@Wh40kFinatic I would love it if you shared your world with us! It seems well constructed, with a solid background and a well-defined story. Yes, the Railroad is an important part of the game and the story, and other than in Jamaica Plain, I haven't exploited their potential yet. I have a save where I finish the game with them. I plan to offer them Bunker Hill and some other settlements. The junction between the different factions is a very interesting point of view from which to develop a new lore to the game.
@TOJIAB1 Honestly, I haven't had the focus to really sit down and fully build stuff yet. This has been the culmination of planning over *many* playthroughs, almost 6,500 hours. 😅 Heck, I have the contents for each chem box, first aid kit and toolbox planned out and how many caps each settlement will have.
@@Wh40kFinatic I feel small with my approximately 4000 hours of play 😊Well done for planning everything in your settlements. One day, if you share your experience on video, let me know, I will be really interested!
Woah, what mod did you use to have the clean fixed walls with interiors, or did you do that yourself?
Thanks for your comment. I did everything by myself. For the walls, I used the mod "Stackable Brick Walls and Foundations" and "A Little More Grounded" which are available on Nexus Mod. And for the decoration, the usual mods like "CVC", "SOE", "Homemaker", "USO" etc...
@@TOJIAB1 Absolutely fanstatic!

Awesome build man
THANKS. I try to do my best to tell a story in my settlements. Glad you like it.
@@Harley_Bradford Thank you for your compliment, I really appreciate! I'm using the "Stackable Brick Walls and Foundations" mod. It maybe available for PS (if you play with mods).
Very nicely done. I do not typically like vault tec builds but this is neat👍 I'll give you a sub.
Thanks for the sub, really appreciate. I try to tell a story as best I can with my settlements, and I try to be as consistent as possible. The only limitations I often encounter are material. Beyond a certain level of detail, I start to melt down my PC and especially the game ends up lagging, framedropping, to the point of making the save unusable.
@@TOJIAB1 this was the first video I watched of yours I will be taking a look at more later.yes it requires alot of materials especially doing multiple settlements.i know your pain with framerate. i am a console player was ps4, now looking forward to pushing my ps5.
Marvel 83?
Yes 🙂
i liked that you have your settlers doing jobs. what mod are you using for that?
I use Housekeeping, More Scavenging Stations, NorthDiggers Stations, Settlement Markers and especially Stationary Scavengers so that my settlers stay at their workstation rather than patrolling. But Fallout is what it is, and often my settlers are not at their work and I have to wait 1 or 2 hours (chair, bed) before they are there. All are available on the Nexus Mod Website.
@@TOJIAB1 thanks for the heads up!
