Super quick edit of the result of an hour on the dyno at the end of the day. 944 Turbo on VEMS
What do you do at 3:00 on a Friday afternoon when you've finished the days tasks? Load up a Porsche on the dyno and start dialing it in. After only an hour Nick was able to dial it in to the as delivered 14psi of boost, now without fuelling issues thanks to the FIC 1000cc injectors. Wastegate spring is 7psi, but the VEMS standalone is controlling the boost through an electronic boost control solenoid to reach 14psi (more to come later). Already we see over 50lb-ft gain from 3000 through 4000 rpm. The difference is massive.

This car was shipped to us for a simple VEMS standalone install and tune. It doesn't go as expected. Here is the starting point as it arrived. On the dyno for some baseline numbers. We stopped the session short because it was far too lean to be safe for a full pull.
How much power did this m52 e30 VEMS standalone tune make?

Ethan's m52 swapped e30 in for our VEMS m52/s52 plug and play standalone ecu. The car is equipped with a GT35 clone with billet compressor wheel and forged internals. We ran wastegate pressure due to boost creep and inadequate fuel system for pushing it further. 460whp and 390wtq with 14psi creeping to 21psi at 6500. Check ecu availability at shop.vemstuning.com.

VEMS plug and play drive by wire standalone ecu for the motronic 68 pin engines. For the obd2 vr6 owners. We call this the vw68 ECU.
Evo X tuned in-house to 635whp on the stock lower end. Using Ignite e85 for an e73 final ethanol.

Chris' Evo X back for some upgrades after running around for over a year at 500whp on pump gas on the stock block. This time we added a built head with GSC S2 camshafts, @boostlab 66x turbo, ID1700x injectors, @radiumengineering hanger with walbro 525 fuel pump. Flex fuel kit and topped it off with a tune on tephra V3. 25psi on pump gas made 535 HP / 360TQ and 31psi peak on E73 made 635HP / 400...

How to configure the input and set the gauge to display Ethanol content. Using a Continental sensor, wired to 12V, GND, and the output going to ECU wheelspeed2 (may need to be added on some ECUs). Is this possible on a obd1 vrt Corrado?
Wow great outcome! I have a 1986 951 that I would love to update to a vems ecu, my only concern is having a reliable tuner. I’m in Toronto Canada, can you remote tune or do you have anyone close to me that would be able to tune on your software?
We do remote tunes, yes. This car came from Michigan and we've had a BMW come from Toronto for in person tuning and have also remote tuned cars all over the globe. Just with datalogs or on a dyno local to you, your choice.

Car is mostly stock. Had "Super 61" turbo, silicone turbo inlet and upgraded fuel pump. Stock engine management, and foreshadowing: Lots of wiring issues.
Ok. I have problem with my s38b36... it is way to rich while first starting, so í have to pull of the fuse for the fuel pump crank for 3 seconds and than put í back and engine starts and run. Can í delay fuel pump somehow. Sorry im not a pro. I got Vems v3 í think.
@Vemsus can anything like milliseconds be read from the roadspeed1 input? Im looking at how to read it from my GM flexfuel sensor which corresponds to fuel temperature but I'm only able to read the hz so far and i dont see any other readings i can pin to being from that sensor in VEMStune. Thanks for your time.

It could just be me being overly critical, or a sound mismatch but all the gauges seem to be kind of "delayed" (mainly noticeable when the engine gets rev'd). Is it just a limitation of the polling rate or?

Hi, I know this is old but any idea why I am getting strange EGT numbers in the VEMS Display and not when using the laptop, showing 70 - 90 deg celcius, when I know they are much higher

Can any 36-1 crank trigger be used?
This video is about the BMW plug-and-play, so it would be 60-2. The ECU does support 36-1 triggers, but it would make more sense to get the wire-in ECU for that. TONS of different trigger types are supported. 60-2 and 36-1 are the most common, but we support pretty much every trigger we've been asked to support as long as there's sufficient documentation or someone does the work to provide trigger logs.
Calibrating´s nice but where do you connect a resistive 3 wire sensor ? A tutorial on which channel & and which pins to use would be useful to go with this vid. If pull up resistors need to be removed it would be good to have a tutorial for that as well showing locations and how it´s supposed to be done.
Your ecu comes with papers describing all that detail. The analog inputs are on the 18pin connector (or aux connector for plug and play versions). They are configured when they are ordered, so the papers that come with the ecu are important. In Vemstune you can load the adc page and see what's at 0v or 5v and if there's no pin in that location on the 18pin connector (Google the common pinout), it being at 0v would mean a pull-down, which is rare. Or at 5v would be a pull-up. If you switch on the ecu and the voltage slowly creeps up, that's a channel without a pull-down or pull-up. Channels without a pull in either direction are great for 0-5v sensors.

Vems display apk is very very old, the theme is extremely unuseful, why there isnt any new update for vemsdisplay??
What do you find "extremely unuseful" about the theme? I think it hasn't been updated because there's no need to update it, but if there are issues, report them for sure.
@@jasonrussell6534 do you think there should be a mistake to improve it? The other ecu's softwares are much better, more useful and has better hd themes...

Hello, the PNP ecu for Peugeot/Citroen NFX/TU5JP can be tuned without the need to purchase/install a wideband ? The OEM lambda sensor if 4wire,can we keep the OEM?Did not mention that the vehicle is stock except the catalyst/exhaust!

Hello. My VEMS ecu is limiting my RPM's to about 4000, and it doesnt go any higher during driving, I haven't touched anything with the VEMS software nor have I touched the ecu unit. Any idea on how to fix this?
Thank you!!! It took me a while to figure out how to type it correctly in notepad. You have to go down to the line of text on 194 then use arrow keys to go up. Then start typing. The first time I typed all that in on line 193, I tried to load a config and it just got all glitchy and showed error signs. I had to try a couple more times before it actually worked. But I’m so happy I no longer have to do a science experiment and get gas all over myself every time I want to know ethanol content. All that being said. This REALLY should be programmed in. People like me new to tuning and bad w/ computers will be very happy.
Was this a M52B25 or B28?

Hello! I’ve build a steering wheel button setup with the resistors like your schema but it doesn’t work! I’ve measured everything twice and I’ve got contact and also my circuit resistance is only 1 ohm so that could not be the problem. Do I have to change any settings or so?
You have 470 Ohms between ring2 and sleeve with the left button pressed and 240 Ohm between ring2 and sleeve with the right button pressed? That should work. You have a 2 ring plug? TRRS is the common name. A TRS with single ring won't work properly.
@@Vemsus yes! I’ve got a 2 ring plug cut from wire with that plug. I’ve measured the plug to know what the ring is what wire and that way I’ve connected it. Only thing I don’t know is the ground. I’ve got the opposite side of the switches to the ring but not connected to any ground. What ground do I have to connect it to?
@@Vemsus I’m thinking like an idiot. I thought 2 ring plug is what I had because of the 2 rings but I’ve the wrong plug. Sorry!

We can do a video on the process, but the settings are unique to each engine/turbo/solenoid combo so we can't provide a config. You (or a tuner) need to do that.

@@Alexander-sr5fg in these modern times ecu without can bus is funny. dwb, dsg, anything that works with can bus doesn't work (learned from experience). we need standalone ecu to control dsg gearbox. version with can bus that has can bus is 900 €. i can just buy EMU black or Haltech or anything else, as i should.
and that's newest version that came out few months ago. other manufacturers had that long time ago.
