All of the money has been spent 'elsewhere' for years and years. It all went catastrophically wrong when Southport became part of Merseyside. This is my hometown, my birthplace. It holds so many wonderful memories, so thank you for the walk down memory lane. However, it feels like visiting the scene of a crime! Shameful.

Run down, neglected, and living in the past. Really sad to see to be honest. What a contrast to affluent Formby down the coast which couldn’t be more opposite. The beach and scruffy beach front is its biggest let down and maybe that’s the main problem and very difficult to improve. Having said that just look at Colwyn Bay to see what can be done, millions been spent there.

I was going to live up there next year because I don't like Birmingham

A city full of empty shops, empty market, gangs of deliveroo boat people hang outside Mcdonalds with homeless sleeping top of road, restaurants come and go, many pubs now gone and existing ones half full or empty, typically on the verge of a ghost town, but hey lots of accommodation for students and Preston do have the UK's first KFC, Arkwright was born here, no wonder he left.

I used to split time equally between North America/Canada, and the UK. I shopped here with frequency, and compared it to West Edmonton Mall for similarities. The walk through is an interesting pace showing many details and features. I was never sure what to make of it? on one hand it's impressive and on the other how does one distinguish between a feeling of grandiose and gaudy?. Never the less I enjoyed the time I spent here, it was always interesting and time consuming. Some times it was even surprising to discover the international branding of stores and restaurants I am familiar with but didn't expect to see.😄

Chester is certainly not underrated. It is sort out of the way geographically I suppose.
