Railroader - Big Shopping Trip - Day16(am)
The way I’ve seen folks run the eastern part of the line is the Whittier switcher covers the sawmill, Whittier town, Wilmot, and Ela and that tends to work out well, if you’re taking suggestions for operations
I think that's my long term goal - it's why I went for basing the T22 there, bigger driving wheels to cover the distance efficiently. Don't really need anything bigger than that for the low density traffic there. Still questioning my G25 choice for Alarka, though I may upgrade that to the SW1, since Alarka comes with fuel point ready to go.
You accidentally turned 12 onto manual mode instead of 900 as it was accelerating before you started switching Alarka, because you clicked on “view 900” and never clicked the checkbox to actually select 900
yeah that would do it.
Bro you need to hype your intros or anything if you wanna be watched. Just saying not a hater.
This is the 4th cut from a 3ish hour stream, the first cut has the stream intro, after that the cuts are kind of random so would be difficult to time ahead of making the cuts. However, I am considering maybe working on an intro segment to splice on the beginning of each episode.
I would advocate for getting the C-46 over the D-46. For the longer runs, you’ll be making about as many water stops but an extra 25% of coal means quicker turnaround times and that, if the captive coal hoppers should ever be delayed, you’re not gonna run out especially soon. Won’t happen often, but can be quite annoying when it does.
Does this map have custom grass? Hard to tell
I'm not entirely sure - I know that some of the cereal crops have different textures.
@@oseh4966 yeah looked like the grass is a different texture, thank you for the reply
I’m making this comment because I don’t know if it was a mistake or if leaving the cars there was intentional, but the Alarka work train isn’t on the correct leg, it’s supposed to be on the leg going down towards Alarka and instead it’s currently sitting on the mainline
Intentional - I still want to make use of the wye for the day. I ended with the G26 staged at the coal mine, it'll haul what coal is ready to leave, and reposition the works train after the passenger train is done for the day. Thinking ahead, I'm trying to figure out how to get tomorrows work train delivered, since the work will happen overnight. Might have to accept a late request delivery to Whittier to keep things going. 🙂
Hi
Hey, thanks for watching.
Nice looking farm!
thanks
Great video . And greetings from America and yes the dummies in the white-house want to stop oil vehicles and control us like we are a communist country . But thankfully the smart senators are voting them down . For now atleast
They are also taxing us to death and giving it to the illegal aliens pouring across the border . Since Joe Biden went into office the price of everything has doubled or tripled . Food , gas , land tax , litteraly everything.
You did aa 30 min vid for 103 views that’s some dedication keep up the great work you’ll get there soon brother
Actually, I stream for about 3 hours each Saturday morning, and holidays. UA-cam is where I store the streams in 30minute segments. I'm thankful for the viewership.
must be a fan of Daggerwin`s channel, arent you?!
I used to watch him frequently, I find him less informed on the game mechanics these days, quoting as fact things that changed between FS17 and FS19 (for example). I tend to watch players who are well informed on the game mechanics and I can learn things from them.
@@oseh4966 so no entertainment just learning?! I guess that's one way to go about life...
@@kirdot2011 I watch his series where he's story telling (entertainment), and not relying on game mechanics. But for game details I'll watch folks like Virtual Farmer or Disturbed Simulations (and others). They tell stories, and learn from their mistakes.
the thumbnail of this video looks like its from FS25... you somehow managed to HD the crap out of that pic!
Randomly picked by UA-cam during the processing of the video. I saw it come up and thought it looked great. I think it's probably the detail that the modder put into the model.
"promosm" 😕
does the goat respond??
Good afternoon Oseh. Started watching these as thinking of doing a two farm series running two dairy farms in FS22 (two saves on two maps imagined as if one farm business for the series) so watching some dairy streams to get an overview of what running dairy involves led me here. One thing I'm thinking of doing is using the sheep dairy farming mod so if you've any animal enclosures spare (think the game limits you to ten) you could perhaps add some dairy sheep and dairy sheep cheese, are also some mods like bottled and flavoured milk, would be interesting to see someone using these before I start my farm up which could be some time off as other things I'm doing before that. Maybe make a backup save first in case if you do use any of these. A comment on another video summarized the appeal of Farming Simulator and watching people play it in answer to the 'why' and I think they are right- it's like zen gardening but with farm machinery instead of a rake, this is very true, it's a pleasant way of doing something slow in nature albeit simulated nature vs the stressful high speed nature of the rest of life! Plus I think there's something in our DNA that means farming hits some past-linked bit of us from when we used to have to do our own many generations ago.
Hi Martin thanks for watching. Due to real life demands, I only have limited time to stream (basically when Mrs Oseh sleeps in on Saturday mornings). As such, I tend to run a long term series per release of Farming Simulator - FS17 was on Lawfolds, FS19 was on Oakfield Farm. I try to pick a map with a lot of room for expansion, and I try to be (generally) as realistic as I can be - though I am not a farmer, and have no Ag background 😀. I'm a computer programmer, so I tend to test the limits (and limitations) of the game. This series I've selected to concentrate on cattle dairy farming, and with MaizePlus I've really got my work cut out for me (MaizePlus does try to make cattle farming more realistic - though can probably be skipped if you're not running cattle). I've always played the Saturday stream with Seasons and (when available) Precision Farming. These last few (real) weeks have been a challenge on the farm, with our cows running out of food without warning, and the productions quadrupling in production rate. These are the things that, for me, make the game more challenging as I try to recover from these unexpected situations. The yard I have selected also supports pigs, and I've been considering my options there, but with the time it takes to support the cows (and make money), I'm still not sure I'd go there. As for sheep, they're a low consideration right now, as I don't own any yards with Sheep pens, and we did a major sheep farm in FS19 - Oakfield, where we were running 1500 sheeps!!
💯👍👍👍
nice vid your mike is sooo goood 🤩😍
Good💥
Underated channel, loads of useful info keep it up🤙

Good job
I’m ready to follow this series from start to finish religiously! I started late for your oakfield series in FS19, but this one I’m not missing a single one haha!
Could u explain the grazing feature on this map in your next vid mate? 👌✌️
Do you know anything about the grazing feature on this map bud?
I'll try to cover it in the next stream. But the basics are that when you run seasons, that the grass in the pasture will autofill the feed trough of animals which eat grass (sheep & cows). Obviously this only happens during the part of the year where grass is growing (not winter or early spring). And a second proviso is that the map needs to be set up correctly to recognize the grass in the pasture. Given all this we know that Field #6 is working as expected, and fill grass throughout the appropriate parts of the year. And that the sheep pasture (no number) does not appear to work. So I'm trying to figure if it's because that area was pasture (map grass) and not a defined field. So at the end of the previous year I plowed the pasture, making it a field, and seeded it with grass - we'll know the results of this test when Field #6 starts to load the food trough there, as we would then expect the Oakfield Sheep pasture to also be producing grass. The whole thing is further complicated as we are running the Maize Plus mods, which changes the base food needs of all animals - and we have found that all the sheep food troughs (Oakfield, #6 & #7) will not accept Clover, which is in their list of valid food... at the end of the next harvest I am intending to create Maize (foraged corn) and will test to see if the troughs accept that too (it's listed, with grass - but who knows??!!)
Keep it up mate🤟
Thanks for the sub. And enjoy the series.
Youve gained a new sub 🤗🤗
Since these videos are produced from a live stream, I cannot timelapse them. Thanks for the sub :)
Wait did I miss something? Why did we get from under 100k to over 700k from last episode to this one?
Looks like this was one of the episodes I forgot to turn on the mic. So the story goes, we spent 6 years building Lawfolds Farm (FS17), and then sold up and transferred down to Oakfield Farm. As part of the accounting on Lawfolds I figured the used value of equipment, the value of the land, and the value of the animals. That was all supposedly available on standby for new investment, so for this start I effectively set the starting money to $0, arrived with the Claas Axion 940 and the MAN truck and Lowloader, and added back the money from the remainder of the Lawfolds Farm equipment sales. Total value of Lawfolds Farm was £16million, but apart from the £1.1M starting cash, and the add of about £700k this episode, we really haven't touched that Lawfolds money, and we are where we are today just working the farm.
Barrel wrestling!!!
Oh, That land rover, I was a bit confused why the wheel was in the passenger seat haha!
I need to find that mod again - and hope it works with the Vehicle Enhancement Mod!
Slowly catching up on all these episodes, I have a lot to go through! Subbed on Twitch (Starbuck64). Thank you very much for providing this content! Personally, I always play without weeds. Glad to see someone brave enough to manage them! Nice tractors, nice variety!
love this series. catched the last 4 episodes directly on twitch, so current having fun watching you from the start of the adventure! Thank you very much for the content :D
Thanks have fun... it's been a long journey.
great video
great video!
I am first viewer 😁
Good job
great video!
Keep with you going mate
Great map review, been waiting for this map to come out. Nice vids on your channel too. 👍
Nice
Next stream is Monday morning twitch.tv/oseh (9am eastern), videos from it will be posted Tuesday.
nice job
thanks
nice job
welcome to the series
Hello
Hi, welcome to the channel
Brilliant!
have you converted this map?
No, this is The Old Stream Farm as current release. IMO Black Sheep has made a very good map that does not seem to have any obvious problems that the other mod maps appear to suffer from - but we've not explored much of the map yet.
@@oseh4966 just the standard stuff I think bales won't rot and dodgy snow mask in place's
@@garrydavey5942At this point I'm not so worried about bales on this map - the farm silo can hold Grass, Straw and Hay, so I hope it's not affected by weather - however since all of the buildings are bespoke, I expect none of them to have any semblance of a snow mask.
Nice vid
thanks
Had a disastrous weekend playing warships. Bought the Exeter and took it out 20 times to progress the missions and was on the losing side 17 times!!!! I reckon that statistically going AFK for 20 battles the win rate would have been higher. The great majority of the game was bottom tier games and the Exeter just gets wrecked by tier 7s every time it's spotted, which is pretty much always with so many planes about. It's staying in port for a while.
i stopped watching too early then lol couldnt stay awake any longer.
Well done Oseh! You inspired me to give it a go but in battleships. Have got to rank 4 but don't think a I'll get any further, but I'm pleased with that as a relative beginner. Got the Gallant in Santa crate bundle...it looks fun.
Thanks - I was concerned that I couldn't rank out in time, we have the former foster kids visiting this weekend, which means little to no spare playing time, especially not games that cannot be paused. I missed out on sprint season 3, because Christmas vacation family time. Gallant is fun, similar to Icarus, but has better torp range and speed boost, no hydroacoustic though. I'm enjoying the RN-DD range of ships.
