The most efficient and cost effective solution is to get a dummy battery with has support for USB-C PD protocol and power it using power banks. They can be charged fast and are relatively inexpensive. You can even have 2 or 3 and power your monitor, camera and other accessories at the same time.

im about to build a fx3 rig with this and a newer vmount plate, instead of spending 14 0 on battery and 60 on plate im spending 80 on 4 npf970 and 60 on plate and 20 on this dual adpater which also lets u hot swap

I want to use the same power supply for my camera and my monitor (my monitor only has DC 8.4v input and the USB C 5v, I can't use the DC 7V input because my camera is using it with a dummy battery) what kind of batteries would you recommend?

There is no right click “button” that you need to reach with your pinky. You just need to use two fingers to right click

I am using a small rig npf converter and I can power the camera via usb-c and the monitor (12V). I use the largest NPF batteries, the ones that can be charged via USB also. V-mount batteries have gone down in price so if I started today I would by them first. But NPF have been a nice flexible solution.

It is amazing good to hear input from other countries than the shills in the USA. This is my 5th MacBook, it took me years to find the right laptop. I also got the base model, I use it mostly for writing as I love the keyboard, I have always loved the keyboard even on the 2014 and, yes also the butterfly keyboard. I know the use of the keyboard is personal, I simply have not typed on anything better (I tried Lenovo, Dell, HP, Razer laptops) I did have the Dell XPS 17 for about 6 months and that was a beast of a machine. It was a hard decision to move back to MacBook and MacOS but all my other devices are Apple (you know as a good North American sheeple). The integration with iCloud is also one of those reasons as I also have a MacBook from my work (M1 13"). To be able to effortlessly move between laptops working on documents is awesome. The screen is just so good and if it gets very hot it could be that the fans are blowing out hot air, just slower than on the Intel MacBook Pro 16". To be honest, I was very skeptical about the M1 move. But it is great how things run now, I was there too when they moved to the Intel platform from the PPC. During that time Rosetta was the biggest piece of cr@p but it seems Rosetta 2 is not so bad for the transition. The fast charging with the 140W brick is also something I enjoy. My laptop has moved from my office through the house but 90% of the time it is used more as a workstation on my desk.

Excellent video. Very informative. However, when comparing the total amount of energy stored in a battery, one should not just look at how much mAh there is, because the voltages may be different. One should rather should look at how much Wh there is, which is a function of voltage times ampere hour. The NPF battery provides around 32.6Wh. So two of these will provide around 65Wh,, which is about two thirds of the V-mount battery(95Wh). And this is consistent with what you concluded.

Does the npf battery converter have output ports such as D-tap or dc12vdc7,4v?

Watch movies on a jumbo TV. This is not good way to watch movies.

You forgot to mention, that the screen of this laptop is superb. Much better, than any iMac or Studio Display. It‘s close to the Apple Pro XDR screen.

new M1 MacBook Pros - "16" and 14" tonight. The body is squared off and thicker than my 2019 MBP. WHAT??? And it feels cheap, not like the former Airplane Grade aluminum. You knock on it and it feels hollow-ish. And the bottom feet are harder than previous models, almost like a cell phone case that is hard plastic and sort of hits the desk too hard. I am pretty disappointed. Why, Apple, Why?

use click with two fingers instead of right click. You can do it anywhere on a touchpad, no need to reach right corner

For me it was a quite process to finally get a v-mount battery. Bulky, pricey, plate needed etc. But the dealmaker was at the end the multitude of connections and the stability of power delivery. So I power my camera, an Atomos Ninja, and a field recorder from the same source. Sure, that all would work with NPF plus an USB powerbank. And more stuff to mount, more batteries to take care of. So got one rig that can be quite effortless equipped with another body, a battery that is not flimsy and provides a solid base to stabilize on the torso. Not to mention the faster charging.

Thanks for the comparison, I am also considering the option of v mount vs npf, you bring up some good points but bottom line being price it’s hard to see value in changing especially if one already has a few NPF batteries lying around.

Nice video, I use two Duracell Np Batteries.(DRSF970 7800Ah 56.1Wh) These will power my camcorder PXW-X70 4K, Monitor Viltrox 9" and Zoom H8 for a full day with plenty power to spare. Batteries cost me €40 each.

Get a Bullstrap! I know the trade off is that the bottom is exposed, but the quality of leather is incredible and totally worth it in my opinion!

when you combine the two npfs, you are doubling the voltage, you don't double the amps also,. 2 x 4400mah 7v, becomes 14v 44000mah

Apple makes quality cases and I highly recommend only purchasing directly from Apple. There are a lot of fake cases out there.
