Israel attacks Iran - Targets Tehran, Ilam, Khuzestan - Oct 26 2024 - Military News

Israel attacked military targets in Iran with a series of pre-dawn airstrikes Saturday. Iran’s military said the strikes targeted military bases in Ilam, Khuzestan and Tehran provinces and caused “limited damage. Explosions could be heard in the Iranian capital, Tehran, though the Islamic Republic insisted they caused only “limited damage” and Iranian state-run media downplayed the attacks. Ira...

Hey nice to hear from you again. Yes same here. Haven't had time so been playing mainly racing games but got a bit of time now and upgraded by computer and got a new HOTTAS so need to put them to good use. Take care all the best.
@@5starstudiomedia ... nice one dude , looks like you have head tracking also ?
@@orsonincharge4879 yes I use the track IR. It's inexpensive compared to VR and very effective. If you don't use it I highly recommend it.

It aggrivates me to no end how nerfed stingers are in video games... is the avenger still shorter range than manpads?? Cuz that makes a LOT of sense...
Yeah I know what you mean. Not sure about the range of the avenger compared to manpads
DCS with another great addition. Great video
Thanks. Glad you enjoyed it
Always great missions , really well produced content !
Thanks so much Orson. All the best
Damn!
Keep low but go slower. You're going way too fast. Between 100 and 120. Slow yourself up. Going slower keeps you out of range longer or out of range period. Set Petrovich to beige(you fire the missile) and turn your aiming sight brightness up.
Thanks so much BearFlagRebel. Sorry for the late reply didn't realize I had the comment. Will do thanks again and all the best
Good training. You definitely want to obscure your approach to AA. Stay low and stay behind cover. Pop up and lock and fire and get back behind cover.
Ok will do Power5, thanks so much and sorry for the late reply didn't know I had a comment. All the best
#crazyrussianpilot :- > Top СУПЕР👍👍👍
you were missing cause your fan wasn’t on
17:20 Wow. Luck was definitely on your side with those last two Avenger launches. That or extremely fortunate and spot-on timing with countermeasures deployment relative to the launch. You can see that last suddenly shift it's tracking and heading at the last possible moment before impact. Pretty cool. Also, just for a fun side note (or for whoever comes across this and isn't aware): The Hind was designed more for longer range engagements and hit and run strafing than it was for knife fighting and quick maneuvers. It's speed is one of it's greatest assets - in addition to being able to just laugh off being completely peppered by incoming fire over and over again. For things that aren't SAMs or really heavy AAA, but require more impacts on target to destroy, a decent strategy to employ: Build up a lot of speed at low-level heading towards the target. Then, just before you're within gun range, pop the nose up to about 30 degrees, get a good 200-300 meters underneath you, and perform a diving attack with the guns/rockets. A diving attack from a steeper angle will reduce the vertical spread of your rounds, allowing you to get more lead or HE on target than at shallower angles. (Also, don't forget to reduce the collective a bit when in the dive so you don't cause a retreating blade stall.) Follow through by flying straight ahead, keeping as low to the ground as possible to avoid any incoming fire. This will help you build your speed back up (if it wasn't already after the dive), presents a smaller/slimmer target profile, and create a nice distance buffer from any additional incoming fire. Turning away right as you break off the attack will present both a wider and slower moving target than if you drop to the deck and get the hell out of range. You'll typically soak up less fire by staying low and fast. Hope this helps some. :)
Kenny B My apologies for the late reply, I'm almost certain I setup youtube notifications comments but didn't get any. I know how how it feels to write a long helpful comment and don't get a reply. My apologies again my friend. What you said makes perfect sense i.e. taking advantage of the Hind's speed, poping up before gun range 30 degrees and performing a diving attack and most of all watch out for the dreaded blade stall. I had no idea about that occuring when I first started flying it and was so confused what happened when I dived and speed went above 350 and I just fell out of the air like a rock, lol. Also on egress staying straight and low so I'm not presenting a wider and slower moving target. Man wish I had this advice before. I find the MI-24 so difficult to fly, could be because I'm using crap HOTAS combo and pedals but even so it's my favorite module. I also can't wait for the AH-64 Apache to come out, probably before the end of the month but I'm somewhat intimidated as it's so advanced and there is so much to learn to fully take advantage of it's capabilities. Well thanks again so much Kenny B you advise is really appreciated. Take care my friend.
The sriyan troops are over worked
True, the need a break, lol
Great work
Thank you so much 😀
Just a hint, if you don't tell Petrovics to close his sight after you turn away, you may damage the gyros in the sight
Thanks so much for the hint. Makes sense because some times I'm unable to fire at all, so that's probably what's been happening. Thanks again
Fantastic work with the editor!
Thanks. Much appreciated.
Man, you really know how to use the mission editor. I am lightyears away from missions as complex as yours. You did a fantastic job. Almost too real!

Thank you so much appreciated. Yes it absolutely is. Can't wait for the AH-64 coming out soon. That's going to be epic
I recently got the basic warbird Virpil pedal , its made helo's a lot easier , I used to use the slider on the side of the warthog throttle : / Me being odd though , i have them configured reverse , so left foot forward to turn right , it just makes more sense to me that way . The pedals are heavy construction and really sensitive , my chair has wheels and im always pushing myself away lol , so now I gota get a fixed chair , I was looking at the GT Omega ART cockpit ... more money lol where will it end ? I may as well save for a real chopper :D
I checked out the VPC WarBRD Rudder Pedals and the price is more in my budget range compared to the Ace. It seems the main difference are the foot pedals themselves and the legs aren't as wide from what I can see. Does it tilt over when in use? The GT Omega ART cockpit would be awesome for flight sims not to mention I could use it for racing cars also. LOL you are right. I cracked up when you said may as well save for a real chopper! Might as well cuz this gear is all so expensive.
@@5starstudiomedia .. neh it doesnt tilt even under full load , i end up pushing my chair backwards before the pedals would tilt or slip
Nice nice, so I will definitely consider them when I've got the funds. Thx
I think the Hind is much more difficoult to land than the Huey, especially when you´re doing a non-rolling landing. You´re doing quite good i´d say. My approach is to establish a stable hoover and work my way from there - using Thrustmaster Warthog with F18 Stick and Thrustmaster Pendular Rudder. The Hind is fun to fly but a Pain in the butt to land non rolling. Your vid´s are fun to watch. Please keep ém coming.
You are absolutely right. The Huey is wayyyy easier to land than the Hind. Rolling landing no problem but hover landing is a challenge. That's some serious gear & heard the Thrustmaster Pendular Rudder is like using the real thing. Thanks so much Hans, means alot. Take care and all the best.
@@5starstudiomedia Concerning the rudder pedals - i will never ever go back to any other. That´s how good they are!
I can’t even take off with hind, once I lift the collective, it starts to yaw and roll uncontrollably, even if I trim it adequately, I feel I’m just not the guy for helo
Yes I can imagine, as it's so frustrating using amateur gear. I like the form factor of the Thrustmaster TPR Pedals. It seems like that kinda of design would work better than the standard pedals
I used to have the same issue taking off. There are a few things you can do to make it much easier. Go to the Options page at the top left when you first start DCS. Under the 'Special' tab locate the MI-24 in the left column & click on it. Make sure the 'Rudder Trimmer' is selected & Trimmer Mode 'Central Position Trimmer Mode' as it helps with joystick or rudder pedals. Then click 'OK' to save Now start a mission with the Hind and turn on the Controls Indicator by pressing RCTRL+ENTER while in the cockpit. It will show the joystick positioning on the top left and the autopilot channel positions at the top right. H K T B = YAW l ROLL l PITCH l ALTITUDE Next you want to make sure the autopilot channels are enabled i.e. yaw, roll, pitch & altitude Press the backspace key to remove the chair and joystick for better view. From the centre look to the bottom left or bottom left of the joystick you will see the autopilot channels. Click each button to turn them all on. The YAW or heading, roll, pitch & altitude. The autopilot will help you immensely both with take off and landing. I would recommend binding the autopilot channels to your joystick/HOTTAS From cockpit press ESC and choose 'ADJUST CONTROLS' CONTROLS OPTIONS Type Autopilot into the search and you will see a list and then you can bind them to your joystick/hotas as you see fit. I also have a MI-24 Quick Tips Google docs I can share if you are interested. Let me know. Hope this helps, let me know how it goes.
Nice video
Thanks

I've always liked the Russian 12.7mm yak-b gun
Yea, it's used by so many of their aircraft
dont forget the two black switches left to the weapon indicator. you get a floating reticle that shows you the true spot of impact of your bullets. if you have to get that close to the target for a good hit, something goes wrong.
Thanks so much for pointing that out. At least now I stand a better chance at survival as I can now engage them much further out

Question: how are you finding trying to get a clean replay or track to watch back for the hind? I cannot get a replay that plays correctly for this aircraft, very frustrating as I want to make loads of cool vids with it and I don't want it to be all 'cockpit'
DCS replay feature is the same for all the aircraft not just the MI-24. Note that it isn't a 'standard' replay feature that only records what you see. The replay track feature is an actual re-simulation of your gameplay in which you can enter the game at any point. The replay track file only records inputs, the rest is independently re-simulated. So as time goes on, the imprecision of the replay increases. Best thing to do is during the mission setup is place your objectives as close to you as possible so it doesn't take so long to get to it and by that time the replay is 'off' track. Just get the action started ASAP as the longer the mission the more inaccurate the replay track will be.
@@5starstudiomedia thank you, yeah I know about the recalculations during watching the track back and how all the aircraft encounter this issue but I can get clean playbacks with lots of the aircraft. My point is I haven't had one clean playback with the hind, it seems impossible. And I'm trying to work out if it's the same for everyone ir if it's down to my machine being sub par. Thanks for your response though, very helpful for those that don't know 👍
@@flyboymadman Oh ok so you are aware of it. I haven't tried to record and replay most of the other aircraft actually so not too sure. Good point. I wonder if it is due to our individual system specs. My GPU is definitely sub par GPU: RX580 CPU: AMD Ryzen 5800x RAM: 32GB OS: Windows 10 64 bit running on M.2 NVME Gen3 DCS running on standard mechanical HD I will try recording and replaying some other aircraft sometime next week and let you know what happens.
@@5starstudiomedia here's an example of what I've been doing with my vids. Hopefully you'll see why I'm needing smooth track playbacks with all the angles I use. As you'll see in it, I have no problems getting playback with the huey. I mean even just taxiing the hind fails when watching the track back. I'll try and make a video about it, demonstrating how off it is. At the same time I'm not seeing anyone else succeeding in their videos, they're all cockpit views. But yeah, I've got a challenge for you, start up the hind, fly it low and slow round an airfield and land it, see if you can get a full replay that correctly tracks your flight. An interesting note; watching the track back seems to get better the more you load up the same flight. Every time the track fails (let's say 20% into the flighy) I load up the flight again and do a new flight, select 'watch track' and this time it gets to 30%-40% in before it fails. Anyway, I'd love to know how you get on if you try it.

Bullet hole in the fuel tank ?
Yea during the dog fight think I shot his internal fuel tank and he went down in flames
I find the 30's are very accurate , same for the pods , just point and squeeze . My main problem with the Hind , I cant understand the russian bitching betty . Something about a rotor , and then I crash .
Yes I totally its super accurate compared to the pods. lol that bitching betty drives me crazy & I have no idea what she is talking bout! Once she starts bitching, Crash, exactly
Bitching betty (from what I deduced) on the Hind has to do with either a lack of altitude or a low energy state that would cause you to fall out of the sky
@@snakeoo7ca thanks so much for letting me know
@@5starstudiomedia Unless you're flying super low with gear retracted Betty isn't going to complain. I'm betting you're letting your RPMs fall out of parameters. Worst comes to worse put the cockpit in English to get the translation.
@@Tamburello_1994 yes may definitely be the rpm as I have the throttle mapped to my hottas and sometimes I hit and change it by accident. Thanks so much for your input
How did you get the filters from the Mi-8 onto the hind ?
Hi there, sorry not sure what filters you are referring to?
Oh do you mean the IR Suppressors on each side of the engines. If so you would have to add it to the MI-24 in the area where you setup the load out. Let me know if that's what you are referring to and I can give you specific details
@@5starstudiomedia .. That's exactly it . How do you select them ? I found a check box for the exhaust IR suppressors but it doesn't add anything to the model , perhaps its because I don't have beta installed ?
@@orsonincharge4879 Yes that's it for sure, you do need the beta version
@@5starstudiomedia ok man , i'll wait for next update . I enjoy your vids , you really throw that big bird around ;D
Do you have the same issues against Sa-9 ?
Oh man haven't tried against the SA-9 yet. Will have to try it out
@@5starstudiomedia yes, I don't have any problem dealing with it if it is in a quite open aera. I wonder if the Avenger have a better range. And basicaly, if I can't use missiles at range, I'll look at the terrain and find a way to come close to the enemy. Then canon or rockets will do the job. Only possible if no AAA are in the zone
@@jowenjv4463 Yes I find the range of the ATGM 9M120 not that great, says 5km max but find I have to be significantly closer and to make matters worst have to hold it on target during the entire flight. So your strategy is pretty on point. Thanks so much for the advice, all the best
Just some tips from what I might do different: Ingress LOW, very very low hiding in the ground clutter. Bump before the target meaning pop up and get an angle down for the shot (check CASMO vids for the technique). Launch and do NOT jink or wobble and hope he doesn't fire (here's the hard part since you have to wait for your impact). Immediately break hard (about 90 degrees wors well) and extend at low level whether you hit the target or not!!!! Do NOT try a second shot on a dangerous target. If you are going to try a second run make sure you extend for 45 secs or so to come back in far enough away to repeat the initial attack parameters (low, pop up, shoot, run). Good luck!
Hey thanks so much for your advice. Will definitely try like you said especially 'break hard 90 degrees'... after firing and impact (hopefully). Thanks again much appreciated. All the best.
@@5starstudiomedia You're welcome. 90 degrees isn't hard and fast. I often only do 45 - 75 or so because I'm trying to keep from flying directly away from incoming AA fire. The Hind is deadly but it's also really easy to get shot down if you try for that second shot and get too close or worse, you end up overflying a target that is shooting back. I have all the helis in DCS but the Hind has definitely taken over as my favorite to fly. (Though I still also reserve the Huey as my *favorite*, LOL).
@@hakulus3037 Thanks so much for replying. I was so intent on getting the kill I forgot about the 90 degree which would have saved me some headaches lol and as you said also ended up overflying them on couple occasions. Tried a bunch of times and finally succeeded and uploaded the new video. I don't yet have the Gazelle and the MI-8 which I have to get. DCS is an incredible developer, been with them from the get go and their SIMS are incredible. The MI-24 is my favorite now also even though I found it very challenging to fly to say the least. Yes the Huey is another favorite and can't wait for the Bell AH-1 Cobra to come out, including the Vietnam terrain! It will be heavenly.
