    Really beautiful up there. I can't wait to hike in the barren plateaus like that I've wanted to for a while. Are there berries up there?

    Looks like a great place to explore with all those wide open views! If you can get your hands on some Trader Joe's banana chips, just add quick oats and sunflower seeds, cinnamon, maybe chocolate, and you've got a killer "dehydrated" breakfast at a fraction of the price of packaged ones! Plus it tastes good 😅

    Great to see you both out enjoying what Newfoundland has to offer. Hiked the loop back in 2005 as a day hike. The way back was brutal over steep elevation. It seemed a bit more primitive then, definitely no camping or outhouses or benches. Did another day hike along Long Pond Brook into Tablelands. It might be of interest to your viewers or at least your geology viewers!! Love your content.

    Great Video! It seems like it took you ~ 8 hours with breaks from Snug harbour to north rim. Did you need a compass/GPS at all for the north rim view point...I was thinking of attempting to do a day hike from the parking lot up to the view point and back. How long did it take from parking lot to snug harbour?

    • @jauntsontherock
      @jauntsontherock Рік тому

      Glad you enjoyed it! GPS was definitely helpful. To be honest, we wouldn’t suggest doing it in one day. Not only would it be quite the challenge (26 km and 1,000+ m of elevation gain), but the views along the way are stunning. I would do at least one night at Snug Harbour to be able to fully appreciate the scenery, but ultimately I guess it is technically possible to do in one day!

    Great little outing there for sure. I am assuming you modified the tent with a stove jack from Amazon or something like that. Is that a 4 person tent? What did you sleep on, just a sleeping bag on the floor? I'm from Central NL, where abouts is this trip at?

    • @jauntsontherock
      @jauntsontherock Рік тому

      I made a stove jack from some high temp silicone and fiberglass mat and I used a FE Active cot, and Thermarest sleeping pad. The location is between the communities of Springdale and Kings Point. Thanks for the questions.
