My Obsession with Love Lies Bleeding
Dude I just watched this one a few nights ago, too! Somehow it skipped past me when it came out.
Right?! It’s such a hidden gem!! The music in the movie is INCREDIBLE. 🤘🧡
Saw the Brutalist twice now. This story is filled with meaning, depth, and symbolism; a sure stand out from other films I saw last year. It can mean many things but also perhaps a timely reflection of America’s relationship with immigrants and the American Dream. I think if people without bias will view it this way, I think they will have less beef with the plot or the second part. People may be dismayed about the epilogue and I agree it could’ve been better more artistically interpreted I suppose but for many years to come people all over the world hopefully will be grateful and find solace in the “It’s the Destination that is important” takeaway message. Aside from the Statue of Liberty shot upside down, I think the use of a jazz rendition of You are my Destiny on the lead up to the rape scene was so bad ass. Knowing that the word destiny repeatedly appears throughout many pivotal moments in American history. Ending that climatic moment “That’s what you are..” is such a big slap imo.
I really want to watch it again, specifically to pay attention to more details that you mentioned, such as musical cues. Great thoughts here- thanks for sharing! 🧡🤘
Absolutely loved the film.
It was fantastic! I can’t wait to watch it again.
An absolutely beautiful masterpiece.
can't they find another plot of land to build the house?
No one likes a long commute to work, which makes their proximity to genocide even more unsettling. This family wouldn’t seem nearly as evil if they weren’t as close to the violence perpetrated and profited upon.
Is it true each & every one of these actors' houses in Malibu burned down?
I don’t know! I hope not. I would Google it to find out! 😢
i remember watching it and really loving it, but how it sits in my memory over time is what makes it so special. the scene that i most remember now is the grocery store scene and i think that speaks to how special the narrative and characters are, what other horror movie would have that be the scene someone remembers first?
Bringo! Many of my favorite scenes don’t involve the zombies. Masterful stuff!!
so hyped for 28 years later. love this series! keep the awesome reviews coming!!!
Thanks for the kind words homie! 🧡
Masterpiece. Next.
Check, please! Thank you, next! 🧡🧡
it was grim, it was gritty, it was wolfish, it was icky it was bloody, it was muddy, mere mortals, silly puddy it was mice, it was rats, it was cats in women's hats it was corsets, it was lace, it was women in their place It was children, it was mothers, it was stupid mother- Flutters of gulls cawed overhead the cemetery at the cliff's end. And an overcast and presage of a storm on the end line of the sea. With waves rushing ahead of it, as if in fear... What could be out there that could so upset the sea so? A death rattle? A tattletale of woe?
👏 now that’s what I’m talking about
Couldn't have said it better than you THANK YOU spot on!!!
No, thank YOU!! Have a great night 🧡
After my second watching it was incredible. Everything was very clear and each individual scene was superb. I’ll be seeing it again and it will probably go into my canon of favorite movies ever. The theater experience is incredible. Again, this was not my opinion after the first viewing but after the second I was amazed. Word
@@madlynx1818 haha hell yeah! 🧡🧡
@@curtisreviews5880if they made this movie without the Dracula franchise attached to it it could be called “the haunted girl”. Haunted by the demon of masturbation. I mean, honestly, we’re all adults here, that’s what Ellen was talking about….
@@curtisreviews5880……and now it’s my favorite movie ever, lol
Stop looking at me like that
🤣👀👀
It was a beautiful and great movie. The moustache, however, made me think of Dr Robotnik
My brother’s gf said the same thing! Coming out the same week as Sonic 3 didn’t help that comparison 🤣
An overrated noisy, obnoxius, unbearable, disgusting, erratic and really boring and really really long piece of trash
Too me this movie had flaws, and I wasn't a fan of the mustache. That looked goofy.
Sounds more like you went in with a negative mindset. And the moustache is what actual Romanian noblemen had (Vlad The Impaler), and Dracula has a moustache in the novel? Go stick with Marvel movies and stuff that's less challenging 🙄🙄 your comment is what's goofy.
@EmlynBoyle actually I went in with a positive mindset, I didn't know what the new design would be because they hid it from marketing.
Even though the mustache is period accurate and I liked the choice, it’s not for everyone! Thanks for the comment and subscribe to the channel if you want to see more! 🧡✌️
The Dracula character is based loosely around a real historical person called Vlad The Impaler.. If your uneducated, your not going to understand this. Maybe go back to watching cartoons or super hero film's?
@Vision-dd8flWhat about who know who Vlad was and what he looked like...and still do not like what Orlok looks like in this film. If what movies you watch and like is a measure of intelligence to you... you got a real big problem.
Erm he's literally based on an 1800's Romanian nobleman
if you mean vlad......then go back 400 more years )
Great review! I was on the fence about seeing it. But after this I'm intrigued for sure.
Thank you!! Definitely worth seeing in theaters. Let me know what you think man! 🧡
Your videos should have more views!!! Keep it up
Thanks lol! Tell your friends to like and subscribe. 🧡
The hand creeping over the city was my favorite part of the movie, glad you mentioned it. Hearing you talk about it at length, I think the big difference is that I wasn't really into Lily Rose-Depp's performance, and maybe that kept the whole movie from unlocking for me. Like nothing felt that sexual or sexy to me, but I could tell that it was supposed to. And yeah, making him a big hulking figure wasn't for me. This and Challengers were the 2 big movies from 2024 that I wasn't able to connect with.
That creeping hand moment felt very Tim Burton, I loved it! Andrew felt similar about LRD, I thought she would be universally liked but seems a bit polarized. I think this’ll be a classic adaptation years down the line.
"You don't belong with the living," Orlok tells her in German at the beginning of the film. This brief introduction reveals the entire conclusion: she has made a pact with Orlok, sealing her fate to be with him forever. "I've never been so happy," she declares. From the very start, she has been like the living dead, merely waiting for Orlok to fulfill their union. What a beautiful poetic film, with Orlok looking like the decayed Vlad, the Impaler.
So true!! This is why I need to rewatch it. Eggers lays so many succulent threads all throughout- makes that payoff even better! Thanks for the comment, subscribe to the channel for more! 🧡✌️
I've seen the movie; I'll place it at the very top of vampire movies (I've seen all the great classic interpretations of "Dracula,” including the original 1922 "Nosferatu,” and read Bram Stoker’s 1897 "Dracula") the one narrative complication flaw I find is that if this vampire is a living corpse, then what about its evil fetid stench - I work as a nurse and in hospital, a diseased human body becomes quickly foul-smelling if not kept washed-at least a scene with the vampire attending to his body to make it less malodorous - esp during the final scene with its extreme intimacy - one wouldn't be able to endure it the lovely maiden retching, trying not to vomit - this is not "silly" nitpicking; I hope you can provide your opinion on this narrative oversight by the Director/writer
That’s funny you picked out that one detail. My impression is that given the overwhelming power and persuasion of Nosferatu, the smell is the least of their concerns. I’m not sure whether this was an oversight or not by the director- ultimately Robert Eggers would have that answer! Thanks for the comment, subscribe to the channel for more! 🧡✌️
I recall the picketing of the religious nuts, outside the theater where I saw it with my family, as a kid. Fond memory.
@@randycunningham7318 if only those picketers knew how tame this was in comparison to movies we get now. 🎄🎄
It's pronounced "Luh-nay-uh" Quigley
Put some respect on the name!
Im sick of Glen and glenda ngl. I really want them to get dark again. Season 3 was a nice balance of comedy while Chucky still being more brutal then ever. A christmas movie with chucky would be cool but i really want them to steer away from too much comedy and unnecessary social commentary(season 2) and keep that really good modern horror comedy balance, that, or go back to the ultra dark vibes or curse and cult. Also, y they gotta cancel shit, season 4 could be so good 😔
I agree, dark vibes and brutality seem like a fun direction. I think Don may surprise us with the next entry, season 3 had some brutal moments and the fate of Devon, Jake and Lexi was pretty dark too
@curtisreviews5880 yeah, chucky is the best slasher series in my opinion. He's got one of the highest body counts out of the horror franchises and is extremely well rounded as series
Horror merry Christmas 🎄
And a horrific merry Christmas to you too 🎄
I loved this film! Ultimately about life as a human being. Jesse Eisenberg and Kieran Culkin are both equally good. Two halves that make a whole. Their characters need each other as do we the film watchers. To only have one of these characters in the film without the other would not have worked. Really masterful writing and directing by Eisenberg. And the scene filmed in the concentration camp and subsequent bus ride was so touching, where Culkin's character has the most human of reaction. Loved this film!
So true- Jesse and Kieran worked so well together and their chemistry made the movie so special. Thanks for the comment! 🎄🧡
Cousins, not brothers!
Terrifier 3 has taken the crown

Such a fun film, and Linnea with her "Nice Rick"! : ) And yet one of the biggest picketers, Mickey Rooney is in the 5th film! : )
Linnea never disappoints. Yes, such a fun film! Thanks for the comment- subscribe to the channel for more! Merry Christmas 🪓
I just downloaded this movie from internet archive site...

Excellent review. I would suggest you change your sound. You sort of sound like you are talking in a room, not in a microphone.
Thanks for the kind words. As far as the room sound, I’m working on it! Venmo me $100 for a new mic 😆 thanks for the comment 😊✌️
In love with this movie
Can’t stop thinking about it 😍
Where can I watch it?
It’s mostly in theaters now but you should be able to rent it or stream it online soon!
100% agree. Nicely done.
Thank you for the comment! 🤝
I'm really glad i watched Anora. Initially, i didn't want to watch this movie because i thought it centered Russian oligarchs (because f*** those guys), but my partner explained: "No, no - they're the baddies."
I’m glad you watched Anora, too! Thank goodness the oligarchs weren’t the main characters 😂
Overall I enjoyed the movie. I liked the killer Johnny. Great kills. Simple story. Following the killer throughout the woods was relaxing to me. There was no score in the movie and that never bothered at all. I didn't like the other characters when they would show them. The dialogue was horrible. I hated the last 10 to 15 minutes of the movie. Good job on your review.
Thanks for the comment man! Glad you dug the movie. Relaxing is a good word to describe the overall experience.
@curtisreviews5880 You're welcome. I'm happy I enjoyed it too.
Second act ruined the movie. The themes and metaphors were very obvious and nothing new or challenging. Maybe most people don’t have conversations about religion and faith with their friends and family ? First half was very good, but not amazing. Acting, cinematography, and characters were on point. I went in with no expectations, just for a good time. Was surprised how much I like it.
Like you said, there’s more people than we probably know who never discuss religion or faith that could be shaken by this movie. I too went in low expectations and enjoyed myself- especially that Star Wars bit ;-) iykyk
This was a great review and exposition on _Heretic_ ! I really enjoyed your narration /style of writing - the way in which you went about weaving together your selection of themes, all while keeping the entirety of it beautifully concise - it dang near brought a tear to my eye. What a well-crafted video. Thanks for sharing. I hope to see more!
Wow 🤩 this comment made my day. Thank you so much for the kind words. More to come for sure! Working on a new script as we speak 😊
Great title, really caught my attention.
Giving us all the deep cut knowledge!!!
Thanks big dawg 🫡🎃
Child’s play 3 and bride of Chucky takes place the same year, 1998
I think we can see the possible script inaccuracy, but the movie itself did pick up 7 years after Child’s Play 3, just IRL and not within canon continuity. Good catch 😊✌️
I get to see this movie in theaters this Wednesday. I can’t wait to see my first Chucky movie in theaters
So jealous! You’ll have to report back and let met know how it was. Thanks for the comment and subscribe if you want! ✌️
This .movie is getting an incredible amount of free publicity
First, but yeah this is the peakest in the franchise. It’s my favourite :D.
Factsssss!!!! Peakest of the peak
David here I been a movie buff for over fifty years and I thought it was a good movie. Not a movie for everyone, 3 other people in the theater for a Sunday matinee in Sebring Florida a small town. It was interesting to see classic stars of television vs The stars of tomorrow. You could tell there was a few scenes that were very fictional. It was a little disappointing that they didn’t show more of the final show. But I know they ran out of time It kind of wanted me to see some of the early episodes, I remember some. 8 out of ten popcorn boxes from me.😊 Ps I keep wondering what the real people involved thought about the movie?
8 out of 10 🍿 boxes sounds right to me. Thanks for the great comment!😊
Scary.
good mobie
Agreed, solid mobie 🍿
I loved it
Period!!! It’s a good one. Check out Snack Shack for another great coming of age 2024 movie.
