    Great video.. No fear of heights for you, to do due that AWESOME hike . As for viewing, Glacier Point views from there #1 Spectacular. You are right on the money with the entrance Gorgeous scenic vista points along the way from Tioga Road/Pass aka highway 120 via Lee Vining to Yosemite Valley. Beauty everywhere. Coming across a Rattle snake and being to get a video of it in Yosemite is a reminder, something fascinating may be around the corner in this beautiful park..

    If you ever get a chance I'm sure you'd love the South Island of New Zealand. It was crazy starting in a rain forest to go hike on Fox Glacier as was it seeing alpine scenery at only around 6,000 feet hiking the Routeburn Track, felt luxurious seeing the kind of scenery I'm used to needing to go to 12,000+ feet for in the US without struggling with altitude. Then the drive to Milford Sound on a rainy day is super impressive with all the waterfalls around, and I loved meeting these alpine parrots called keas in Arthur's Pass National Park. They're ridiculously tame since they have evolved in NZ without any natural predators. Some cool places to see penguins and whales too. Got snowed out of my first couple of picks (Kepler Track and a route I forget the name of now in Aoroki NP) but still loved every second there. If you have never checked out the Beartooths, they're awesome for Yosemite quality hiking near Yellowstone (just outside the NE entrance to the park). Aero Lakes and Skytop Lakes were a great 2 day backpack last time I went, though I chickened out of doing the hike up Granite Peak (highpoint of Montana) since I heard part of the couloir in the only non-technical route up the mountain was icy at the time from a couple of people who attempted it. Still amazing though.

    You have a favorite hike in Yosemite? Tough call for me between 1. Clouds Rest from Sunrise trailhead 2. Mount Dana from the south face of Gibbs at Mono Pass (so you can bag Gibbs too) 3. Mount Hoffmann from the May Lake trailhead My top 3 future to-dos are 1. Diving Board near Half Dome where Ansel Adams took the famous photo 2. Mount Conness (though that'll be a backpack. looks way too long for a dayhike) 3. Tenaya Canyon down to the waterslides and a little past that (but not past the part where you'd need ropes to descend farther)

      This is a video that I’m transporting from my previous channel that no longer fits into my hiking hold. So I am uploading my skiing and hiking videos here. This video was recorded in early May 2023. That time frame is typically the best time to go for waterfalls as the snowpack is melting. The 22/23 winter was very strong which lead to extremely strong waterfalls.

    On very steep runs, avoiding falls is imperative…learn to ski before endangering yourself and others…falls can easily injure skiers further down the trail!

    Nice list you got there. I would personally rank Vail higher, for the same reason you rank Mammoth so high: It has plenty of trails for everyone, no matter what type of skier/boarder you are. Plenty of beginner, intermediate, advanced runs, groomers, and bowls .

    • @TylersTravels-1991
      @TylersTravels-1991 7 місяців тому

      I’ve also only been to Vail once while I grew up with Mammoth. So it probably gets a little unfair advantage. Plus the one day I was there, the snow was okay. I bet on a great day it would skyrocket.

    Not a run for inexperienced and unfit skiers. The snow really doesn't look to bad, Big Sky's typical low tide coverage. Just people who had no business on that run!

    • @jamespowell2224
      @jamespowell2224 9 місяців тому

      The snow base is at 50% of an average season at around 80cm. d The runs are also peppered with rocks that you can't see making it impossible to link turns together without sharks ripping your skis out from underneath you. That combined with the GoPro effect can make an alright skier look bad and inexperienced.

    Given the conditions, plus, I assume, carrying your sister's equipment down to her, I think you did very well. It's good that she was able to arrest her slide and escape injury. I've done that run in better conditions and even then it is intimidating with the steepness and awesome exposed view!

    • @TylersTravels-1991
      @TylersTravels-1991 9 місяців тому

      Its an incredible view for sure. We actually called Ski Patrol to help my sister down since she was shaken up mentally and needed help getting down. She is a great skier though and just made one smaller error that caused this crash.
