Mate, why did you move the camera each time the other station replied? We could not see his signal into your station...🤔
The simple reason is to try and capture his audio better. As there was auroral flutter it was hard to hear him clearly. By putting my phone close to the speaker, I thought I could capture his audio more clearly.

Hi, and thanks for your comment. I use an Australian made Hexbeam at 10m above the ground. Made by a company called "All About DX." The we address is ( allaboutdx.com ). I don't have a big backyard, so the Hexbeam works perfectly. A single feed coax that gives me 5 HF bands, resonant on every band. I go to work early in the morning, so I miss the Long Path USA / VK Path, and I find it difficult to work Short Path USA in my late evenings as I go to bed early. I hope that one day we can catch up on HF. Best 73 Dave VK5MRD

Does that rig have upwards modulation say 50w peak?
Not sure to be honest. That was the first time I have tried AM on this radio. You may have to google or look at some of the ham forums perhaps
On AM, it produces a 25w AM carrier
@@daver5863 the theory behind that is 25w carrier is 100 w peak but alc keeps most rigs way down on am. I’m getting 50w peak from a 590 which is 50% modulation. 10m AM is a blast. 73
You still have endfed? What you think about its performance?
Yes, I still have the endfed. It is low, though, at only 6m above the ground. I use it for 40m and 80m and it is my backup antenna for 20m,15m and 10m. I use a hexbeam for those bands. I am happy, and it does seem to work well. I am using LMR400 coax to the endfed and also my hex 73
And CN3A was using 2x5Y @ 33/21m + 1kW
