No Talking, just riding my Honda XR600R into the Sunset
What should have been an easy 1 hour ride became twice as long when my bike stalled right in front of a 3 foot drop on a steep gnarly hill. It was getting dark and I couldn't get her started. So I braved the drop without engine power.

The BEST Dirt Riding I have ever done on my Honda XR600
Переглядів 798День тому
I rode with a group I have never ridden with before. I was kinda nervous to be the new slow guy on his old school Honda XR600 so I pushed hard to keep up with the group. But then it dawned on me, what used to be my limit is now my new baseline. My riding has improved dramatically.

Another fun adventure ride on my old faithful XRV750 Africa Twin. Met with a friend Ed, on his Yamaha Tenere, and did a route with great views of the setting sun. It got dark but we pressed on and ended up having the time of our lives.

The 3rd and final day of the adventure was full of action from dawn to dusk. While 2 of the group headed back home early, the remaining 3 headed for the higher ground in the mountains.

I rode with 4 friends to Northern Cyprus where we spent 3 days riding really awesome trails, camping 2 nights and having just a wonderful time. The many modifications to my Africa Twin have made her a truly capable adventure motorcycle. And my Tusk Rackless Luggage system worked really well.

Excellent video. Exactly what I enjoy, just raw footage. No bullshit cometary of why.. we all have been there. Just real legit riding and normal comments and sounds of that riding…. You’re very calm, and patient.. I speak like a pirate, alone or with company, so I would have had quite a few more cuss words.. (just sayin’). (Also not needed, just me).. happy riding bro.. Awesome scenery too.. 🤙🏻
Did this end up being a mechanical issue with the 600, or is this pretty par for the course with that bike.
@@dougdunedainownerofthedoom2205 rode her the next day for 6 hours and she started each and every time except when I dropped her. From what I've experienced with mine and read on forums, XR600s just don't like being dropped or dying on some sort of incline.
That’s kinda sketchy riding down that hill with no motor, if you got a buddy with you it’s ok
@@jonsmith9708 yup. Just didn't have much choice.
Men are to blame for giving those “fancy” lame girls attention
Between your 2 bikes which do you ride more?
Had the XR600R 10 years before getting the Africa last April. I've ridden the Africa by far more since then. Kinda enjoy the bigger bike more.
@ your Africa looks fun but If I can’t find one in decent condition near me I may go with the new ones or a Tenere 700. Thoughts?
@@Itsjake908 My actual dream bike is the Tenere and now they're bringing out the new 2025 rally edition. But this Africa Twin has so much character and I've made mine quite capable too. Choices choices choices. Are you in Europe?
@@BeanzBob nope I’m in the US
@Itsjake908 I should have guessed since you said you were struggling to find a good one. Hope you do
I love the XR's, but when i bought my off road bike, i went to a DR... SE, because of what you show on your video! Nice tracks and nice riding, though!! :)
I hear you. I'll keep her forever though 🥰. Awesome bike regardless.
how tall are you?
1.90m
Bob I think you need a new clutch disks …that’s why it isn’t start…Next time you find yourself in the same position, do a test, try lowering the crank slowly, not as fast as you did.
It's not that mate. The xr600 just gets funny if she dies lying down or similar circumstances
These are the times I'm glad I got electric start! It's a real workout kicking these bikes man. Nice riding!
I hear you. She actually is usually a straightforward kick start but some days she's just 81tchy 🤣
Good thing the downhill start mostly always works, it's a real life saver in some scenarios
How did the YSS suspension after a year? I want the same one for mine Africa. I also weigh 100 kg.
I could not be happier. It works very well for me. Remember to order it with the stiffer spring for heavier guys.
@@BeanzBob thank you very much for the answer!! I know it's a special shock absorber for drivers >100 kg. That's why I wanted to hear your impressions.
@@MarkoCajic-lo1jp well it's a shock for everyone but you can order it with a stiffer spring. If you do not specify this, then the normal spring that it will come with will be for <100kg humans.
The old man needs to sort out his luggage situation. Riding around with such a big backpack must be a pain and doesnt help with body position. Epic ride! Makes me jealous! Here in NL the most challenging stuff for my RD04 are sand and mud roads.
LOL the old man was riding and camping when I was still in diapers. Yes I've seen videos of the TET in Netherlands. You should come over to Cyprus.
Great video! Where is this location?
In Cyprus my friend. Have you ever been?
@@BeanzBob no, but it looks absolutely beautiful!
Great videos ! Appreciate the work setting up the shots then having to go back for the camera - I wouldn't have the patience. Love the @t too, had one for 11 years, indestructible machines. You make it look smallish 😂
Glad you enjoyed it! I hear the making it look smallish comment a lot haha.
Yh man ❤
I just can't stop being amazed at the landscape there. All that riding you've been doing and following the younger guys to push your limits is paying off, you kept up pretty dang good with them the entire time on video!
@@rukinaa Thank you Brother. Appreciate your words big time. And yes Cyprus is stunningly beautiful expecially now as winter sets in.
Yeah your confidence is definitely growing big time bro 😎 That ride was well worth getting up early for and the conditions we're perfect.....I loved how you were riding across the top of the mountains that's really awesome and you did really well to keep up with the guys so well done bro 🤛 keep it up.
@@AfricaTwinAdventuresSpain cheers brother. Absolutely fantastic experience. And the old xr600r did me proud.
Aslong as your doing what you love your winning
Man and machine!
Hardcore!
Bro I don't know how to reply on your short about wheelie's but a good tip is just keep practicing, the balance of the pivoting point is crucial so remember to keep your right toe over the rear break so when you feel you've reached the point of no return just apply a little pressure to the rear break 😎 another tip is find yourself a nice flat wide surface....The tomb of the king's road would be perfect for practice mate lmao 😂🤣 keep up the good spirit bro and don't let things get on top of you, especially women over 10 stone hahahaha just kidding 😅
@@AfricaTwinAdventuresSpain 🤣🤣 thanks for the tips brother. I'll definitely keep at it. Heading out on the bike again today.
@@BeanzBob great stuff it's a cracking day here today but my bike is still in the garage 😏 hey and also a few tips when riding on sand or sandy boggy ground as it's the same as riding in mud, keep your feet on the pegs, keep the momentum going and your body with bike balance is essential, it's almost like skating but on a bike, balance is the key bro 🤛 have a cracking ride out & stay safe
Brother! with your equipment, it seems possible for even ten people to go motorcycle riding together!😂
LOL 😂 some of it belongs to my boy
Try higher gears, I would wheelie an XR 600 in 3rd gear and switch to 4th while up it's got the torque
@@DaveDayve thanks bro. I'll try in 2nd on the next training day m
@BeanzBob all you need is front wheel up by 30CM. Throttle it to lift it higher. My 1991 model did it with ease once I got the hang of it.
@@DaveDayve I can't wait to get the hang of it lol.. But yeah this bike is probably a really good wheelie weapon being so torquey.

Perfect view) And Africa Twin 750 1love ❤
The terrain there looks absolutely amazing for riding. That drone is pretty nifty even though it tried to clip you in the back of the helmet when going up the incline hahaha
The terrain is paradise for dirt riding. Big reason I moved here. Yes that little drone is amazing although its basic functionality does make it do funny stuff at times hahaha. In any case it really upgraded my channel.
Cool riding man!
Thanks mate.

I'm actively looking to buy xrv750 for myself. But the parts availability is a concern...
@@uncleryo3989 to be honest there are loads and loads of parts available from different sources. I get parts rather easily. Too many of the xrv were sold by Honda for this to be an issue
Great Bike!!!!!
Great video bro keep em coming 😎 how's the bike feeling now with your upgraded suspension? Much of a difference after setting it up for your weight.....
Absolutely fantastic feeling. I love it. Yes it's still a rather basic setup given it's just progressive springs plus a decent entry level YSS shock but it's a night and day upgrade on the 26 year old suspension and it's my install and tuning so pretty proud of it. Planning some more cool vids soon. Thanks for supporting the channel from it's early days. 👍
@@BeanzBob nice one bro 🤛 it's good to hear your loving it and I must say your looking pretty comfortable on your rides so yeah well done on the suspension upgrade...I can't wait to get back out on mine but I've got loads to do on the bike plus moving junk from one garage to another, fixing the roof, painting walls and making an entrance door so much to do before I can even get going with my Chanel 😉
