A sword made out of 12 different metals sounds expensive and dangerous, but I think if you do that the results of the unique alloy would be unpredictable and maybe not even functional as a sword cause the properties of that metal could effect the durability, rust resistance, flexibility and other things that makes a blade sharp and practical for usage.
