For a young girl back in the 80’s she is well spoken in English I’m not sure if she have assistance for the letter or not because most Vietnamese are Buddhist they don’t ever use “god bless you” phase. Her being that slick for her age I think she either sharp enough to entrapped the white guy into a kid but he tricked her at the end but ditching all together. she still have very sharp mind for her age and I see that other videos of her daughter in the US visit her and they got all kind of shocks including they probably got took advantage of. The daughter did have a disappointment tone at the end that they only meet two months and still treat her as stranger and not close as mom. I know all Vietnamese over there will milk anyone from oversea especially from the US. They will literally ask u to pay everything for their entire family and relatives for life and there are a lot of tricks and game and lies to milk every pennies. And back then and still is now m, Vietnamese will judge and look down on women with mixed race kid especially no dad.

Khong and Vu are the heroes in this story gave their all to help to find her daughter! Hats off!

The reality is these American soldiers weren't in love with these viet women, American soldiers were playing for sex only. These viet women fell in love with u.s soldiers.

This story is unfortunate, but it is significant for reuniting the daughter and mother. I came to the US with my half-Vietnamese and American sister. When I was in the Philippines, we gave the US embassy my half-sister's father's dog tag; the US embassy was able to locate my half-sister's father in America. He is still alive but won't accept my sister as a daughter because he has a good family in America. He even wrote a letter to us and said, "Thank you" for caring for my daughter, but I guess because of his second wife and family. He rejected my sister, and she cried a lot. Unlike this story, she found her mother, and I am very happy for them. I understand the mother's story; I hope the daughter will forgive her. I grew up in Vietnam, and the majority of mixed kids would be punished either by the Vietnamese government or become the children of the dust.

US soldiers abroad have impregnated hundreds of thousands of girls and blew them off as if they never existed and never accepted responsibility. Our military gives itself a black eye for its horrible behavior.
