Possibly Jesus was allowing thise 2 men to vent their despair & anxiety to Him. Then He began teaching them by opening the Scriptures to them. This is a favorite passage for me.

What Jesus are you talking about? The one doing signs in every chapter or the one rebuking those seeking signs? "The only sign is Jonah:" a believer murdered by other believers because he was outnumbered. The Jew is hung from a tree for all time, defeated. What Jesus Christ are you talking about? The one saying "a house divided, cannot stand" or the one saying, "Think not I come with peace, but sword?" Jesus Christ is a Roman lampoon, cartoon. ua-cam.com/video/xyhv69EFuoM/v-deo.html Proof the Roman Government invented Jesus' story - in 12 minutes.

Believers continuously avoid the issue; believers commit the crime of indoctrinating children with a fantasyland vocabulary. Even Jesus Christ said faith was worthless, since you can't move mountains by voice command, expecting movement. Yours is a fantasyland, with fantasyland, prophecy, & resurrection. You don't get respect outside your camp of fellow believers. You can't handle any condemnation of your views, so you eliminate the comments you don't like.

You ignore the fact, not all of us can pretend prophesy & God exist. That is why Jesus Christ says, "Think not I come with peace, but sword". It is amusing to hear the profound arrogance of someone knowing of God, as if He were known outside of fiction. The believer & the literate are separated by the vocabulary of fiction: Blasphemy, God, faith, prayer, prophet, scripture etc. Matthew 17:20 He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” I like asking believers how they can possibly think their faith is respectable, given Jesus said faith is worthless, since you can't expect obedience when ordering mountains to move? Freud wrote, "The antidote to Christianity is literacy". "Now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall". What is The Catholic faith? Organized crime, indoctrinating children with a fantasyland vocabulary? When men are free of religious notions they write, "The antidote to Christianity is literacy." "My sheep hear My voice" is the mindset of slavery. Once free of it, there are no suggestions we all travel better by having one foot in a stranger's fantasyland or Garden of Eden. A mind free of religious text is not tortured by pretending Divinity made Mormons so Christians would know how Jews feel, having pasted their books on to them both. Those looking for the sign of a resurrection, are a vile, "Wicked Generation" seeking signs, led by "wolves in sheep's clothing". "The only sign is that of Jonah"; a believer murdered by other believers. Chained to the slavery of faith, they write: "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is everyone that hangeth on a tree:" Galatians 3:13 One must be insanely arrogant to suggest knowing something of a God. It is by boldness, Moses became the world's worst navigator, by having one foot in some fantasyland. There is a fine line between fishing & standing on the shore, looking like an idiot. Fail to get the Jews to buy it for 2000 years & they should know who their Messiah is. Jesus is a fake, to immortalize the war against the Jews. Jesus Christ is crucified for all time in literature & the subjects of Rome are illiterate. Freud wrote, "The antidote to Christianity is literacy" & the joke is in the scriptures. "Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:" Galatians 3:13 An improvement on your God & faith; would outlaw indoctrination & abuse of the vocabulary of fiction on children. I don't have to convince myself that God exists. He has revealed Himself in scripture. You can choose to ignore that revelation. That is your right. It is amusing that you get so upset at something that you profess isn't true or real. I am not trying to convince you or others. I am just sharing what I believe to be true. Thanks for taking the time to express your opinion.

There is abundant empirical scientific evidence that there was never a global flood, and consequently no ark. The flood story is FILLED with hyperbole that would have been recognized by its ancient audience as a figurative description of an event in order to produce an effect and make a theological point, and NOT an example of ancient journalism or accurate science. Regarding that natural rock formation in Turkey often misidentified as a boat, any professional geologist would recognize that as a doubly plunging syncline and nothing more.

The Noah flood story, is simply a recycling of the much older Epic of Gilgamesh originating in the much more influential and older culture, the Sumerians. There is literally NO scientific evidence corroborating either story as anything more than a myth, possibly influenced by strictly localized conditions.

Additionally, a major warning sign of pseudo-archaeology includes discoveries pitched directly to the media. The pseudo-archaeologist knows his or her claim will not stand up to scrutiny by actual archaeologists, nor will their dubious "data" ever be able to pass the rigorous peer review required to achieve publication in an independent science journal, so it gets pitched directly to the media in one form or another.

Christians are often told they must read the Flood story as literal history, giving them a detailed straightforward description of the Flood. Ken Ham and his ilk insist on this and accuse anyone who disagrees with them of having betrayed the Bible. According to Ham et al., If you don’t believe that there was a global flood with waters that covered the highest mountains and that Noah and his family survived in a 510 foot wooden boat with pairs of all the animals of the world on board, then you don’t really think that the Bible is true. To support his view, Ham marshals “scientific evidence” that no research geologist, even Christians, would support, since that evidence has been long discredited. The irony is that Ken Ham has not only misrepresented the science but misreads the Bible. The flood story is FILLED with hyperbole that would have been recognized by its ancient audience as a figurative description of an event in order to produce an effect and make a theological point, and NOT an example of ancient journalism or accurate science.

Thanks for your comments. From what I can see the authors of the Bible including Jesus and Peter believed in the historic flood. Isaiah, Ezekiel, David and Ezra all accepted the Biblical version of the flood. All - all ancient writers agreed. We read comments from the book of Enoch, Jubilees, the Genesis Apocryphon, Flavius Josephus who all seem to believe in the historic Jesus. The claim that the text in Genesis being filled with hyperboles just isn't supported by any of the ancient writers. I do agree that many in the Creation camp tend to be a bit arrogant but so do the secular experts. Personally, I consider all who believe that God created this world and believe in His son Jesus Christ to be brothers no matter where they fall in the creation debate. Thanks again for listening. God bless !
