2016 Subaru STi Drive By w/ Nameless Turboback Exhaust
A quick drive by video with the new exhaust, Nameless Turboback (catted downpipe, small resignator in midpipe, and muffler delete axelback). Not the best quality as I feel my phone did not pick a lot of the amazing sounds that can be heard. Hope to make a better drive by video in the future. Enjoy!

Here's a very short video I took of a few free revs and then with the launch control set. It's the Nameless Turboback Exhaust (catted downpipe, small resignator in midpipe, and muffler delete axelback) with OEM headers. Enjoy!
2016 Subaru STi Namless Turboback Exhaust Cold Start
Переглядів 9997 років тому
Just a quick cold start video of the Namless Turboback I have installed (catted downpipe, small resignator in midpipe, and muffler delete axelback). Along with the turboback only other "performance" mods I have are Cobb accessport V3 and IAG street series air oil separator.

2016 STi base model, all stock except for the catback. 4" tips staggered muffler delete. *semi-warm start with a few revs at about 1:05 3 new videos posted with the same catback in this video but have recently installed the Nameless Downpipe as well to pair with it. Check them out on my page and enjoy!
Yoo u still got the car?
What wastegate and spring size? 44m tial?
Launch control hard on the engine?
It can be hard on the turbo, same with anti lag.
A beauty!
*Rumble rumble rumble* 😍😍😍
Did you ever find this to loud is it comparable to the loudness of the tomei with a catted down pipe ? How is the drone as well with the set up ?
Stephn Gibson I never found it too loud personally, I enjoyed it a lot! Can’t compare to a tomei w/catted downpipe because unfortunately nobody in my are had that setup. The drone wasn’t too crazy. I wouldn’t notice when I had my music turned up between 7-12 on the volume anyways.
Giani Dossman im in between this turbo back with muffler delete or 4in mufflers or a tomei thank you for responding tho very much appreciate it.
Stephn Gibson if it helps any I did get lots of compliments on the exhaust sound. I do like the sound of tomei too but I just really wanted the quad tip look so that’s why I went with nameless.
Adjust the wastegate pulse through a Cobb AP Protune to get rid of the flutter. It's probably killing spool up.
I had it protuned via Cobb ap at a reputable shop in TX. From my understanding though is the flutter was due to the wastegate opening and closing due to maintaining proper boost pressure based on what my rpms were. Only happened when WOT.
You should post another video of your exhaust sometime, I'm still trying to decide if I want to go Invidia Catless DP or full Nameless TBE but this video is too short to sway me one way or the other.
Unfortunately I traded the car in a couple months ago. But there are a couple other videos on my page.
Damn looks clean as hell
whats that k nocking? 00:13
menswearhous it’s not knocking. It’s just the exhaust creating different sounds and pulses due to the tgv’s opening and closing while it was warming up.
Mods please?

Giani Dossman thanks man, first of all it looks sick, and the sound is just on point, gj man
Louimar Arboleda thanks!
@@gianidossman1691 I know this is an old video, but any chance you know if it's a good idea to get an external wastegate on a stock turbo? I have an 08 WRX and I'm swapping from a TD04 to a VF52 (Stock on the 09) and tuning the boost to 19 pounds. I heard you need a big turbo to run these.
Suit One that was on my stock turbo. I absolutely recommend it because it allows for better boost control when paired with an electronic boost control solenoid. Most tuners will recommend it when turning the boost up no matter what turbo you use.
Lol sound very good
Phu Hang thanks
What tail lights were those? and did they come smoked like that?
s3rendip1ty Subispeed V1 taillights. And yea the lens already came smoked. I had the running lights on so they were red. When the lights are off it’s a white C light with smoked lens and black reflector.
@@gianidossman1691 thanks man, they still holding up?
s3rendip1ty not sure cuz I sold them and got another set because they came out with more color options that I wanted lol. But while I had them they were great.
Looks insane man
Cara thanks!
Beautiful
Martin_STI thanks!
I wanna know your exact setup turbo back.... there are a few diff options on the nameless website.
FiivePointO I haven’t looked at their website in a while. But I have their high flow catted down pipe, their regular midpipe (which already came with small resignator on it) and 4in tips muffler deletes for the axelback.
@@gianidossman1691 ok thank you I currently own a 2014 mustang gt but am wanting to trade her in and grab a sti and yours my friend sounds just beautiful I love it.
FiivePointO thanks!
thats some good shifting
Initial Greg thanks
Howdy man. What did you do fitament wise to get them tucked up in the opening like that. Mine are a bit saggy
mike cross I bought the upgraded exhaust hanger bushings from nameless when I bought the exhaust as well. With those and a little bit of elbow grease should get them to be snug.
Yo where did u buy this setup and how much was it all together, just for thr exhaust?
Ian Young namelessperformance.com is where I ordered everything from for the exhaust. Don’t remember the cost though.
It’s $640 midpipe $640 downpipe and $330 for axel back. If you do a downpipe though you need to change the tune and an access port is about $650.
Giani Dossman dang that sounds hella loud lol.. I just got my invidia downpipe 2014 sti Finaly paid off and time to do some lil mods .. I'm gna be running a Invidia catless downpipe stock mid pipe and I have the same cat back u have ,v3 accesport I think Il be happy with that ..
When you first installed your catback, were you running rich or lean? If so, what did you do? Thanks!
JDMidweSTi no I didn't have any issues. A catback by itself doesn't really affect airflow enough from performance standpoint. So you don't need a tune just for a catback.
?????????????
Hey bro where did u buy your exhaust and is it worth buying
Cris Landeros Nameless Performance is where I ordered it online from and I definitely think it was worth it!
WoW
Hey man, can you drop me the link for this exhaust? Love the sound
The Boyx2 shop.namelessperformance.com/2015-wrx-sti-catback/
Giani Dossman 4" Quad Staggered double wall, and then the muffler delete. Are those the options you went with?
Yea those are the exact options I went with. I also upgraded my exhaust hanger bushings too while I was at it.
Giani Dossman oh okay gotcha, did you add a downpipe to this catback, or was it the nameless turboback you added the downpipe to? Trying to figure out how this exhaust would sound with a downpipe!
This video is just the Nameless Catback and the stock downpipe. I have a few other videos though that are with the Nameless downpipe added as well. Check them out and let me know what you think.
where can I find it?
Danny Smith are you asking where can you find the exhaust?
does the turboback give any good HP gains? or do you need a downpipe too, also is this video with the muffler delete?
Josh Gerbasi the downpipe is a part of the turboback. Downpipe+midpipe+axelback=turboback. As for hp and torque gains, adding the down pipe with just the Cobb OTS tune nets you some hp gain but what you mostly notice is the torque gains in the mid-range. Which in opinion is still definitely worth it. My exhaust setup is a high flow catted divorced downpipe, small resignator in the midpipe, and muffler deletes on the axelback. It's a full Nameless Performance exhaust.
that back end is perfect. I want to see the rest of the car.
Rekkless Thanks! I have plenty of pics on my Instagram @ giani_d but the only thing missing is I put new wheels and tires on a couple days ago. it really brings the car together now imo.
Does the mid pipe have a resonator
HoeLeeFuQQ yes it does but I think it's slightly smaller than OEM if I remember correctly but not 100% sure lol.
Giani Dossman thanks for the reply👍🏼 I'll keep this in mid. How many tickets / neighbors have you gotten pissed off ? 😂
HoeLeeFuQQ none so far surprisingly! my car is even louder now too since I installed their downpipe haha.
Giani Dossman awesome👍🏼
Hello I have a axle back 4inch muffler delete but no mid pipe will it make a difference? Thanks I'm new to the subi world.
Michel Marquez what kind of difference are you looking for? power gains or sound?
Giani Dossman think he means sound
How did you get your fog lights to be on without your drls?
The2basic My foglights are aftermarket that have a halo ring drl function, but once I turn my low beam headlights on the halo ring turns off and they act like regular fog lights. Also my DRL's are still on it's just a little harder to notice cuz my headlights are tinted. but my foglight wires tapped into my Subispeed DRL harness so that's why my lighting is the way it is.
Oh your headlights are on haha. I preordered the new switchback S4 bezels which are suppose to arrive this month end, I think they are similar to yours. Love the halo rings...your whole exterior setup looks real nice...good job!!
The2basic oh nice! yea they came out with the switchback bezels 2 days after I got mine, I was pissed lol. But thanks man, i appreciate it! I hope to add some nice wheels and Subispeed headlights this summer to the exterior!
I was thinking about getting a namless cat back with a 4 inch muffler delete. I'm just not to sure if i need to get a tune for that or not, also do i need to buy nameless exhaust hangers or could i rock the ones i have on with the stock exhaust. I would love to hear some feedback asap, im really anxious to do an exhaust upgrade. I'd apreciate all the advice i could get, Thanks so much.
Chris Budapest No tune is needed for only doing a catback exhaust. Also upgraded exhaust hangers just help with stiffening the exhaust so it doesn't bounce around under hard acceleration. The upgraded hangers can also help with positioning the tips so they don't sag like they would from used OEM ones. If you have any other questions just let me know!
Giani Dossman thanks brotha i will be ordering a nameless catback with 4 inch muffler deletes by the end of the month , if i purchase an an accessport with the cobb intake should i do the pre loaded stage 2 93 octane map or should i get it protuned?
by the way im gonna wait a while before getting an accessport and cold air intake
if you go the intake route, be sure to use stage 1+ not stage 2. also with that be sure to read Cobb's notes for their maps on their website as I believe their stage 1+ is only for using their intake and nobody else's. stage 2 is if you do turboback exhaust with no intake (downpipe and catback). with stage 2 it says you can use any downpipe similar to theirs so long as it isn't catless I believe. but definitely double check me by just reading their notes. as for using OTS maps vs a protune, a protune will always be better but their OTS maps are definitely good. I'm currently running their stage 2 OTS map with the Nameless Turboback system.
Love it. I'm going for a catless DP with mine, do you know how much louder it'll be compared to catted? Black looks sooooo good on these cars, some days I wish I had gotten it instead of blue
Skyler Gabriele Do you plan on having a similar setup as mine? Cuz if you go catless with no resignator or no mufflers it will be significantly louder lol. But I know some people absolutely love it but for me I like where mine is at. and yes I do love the black as well except for that every imperfection shows when I clean it up lol.
Same as yours just catless, I'm keeping the resonator because I think it sounds better, much deeper compared to without a resonator. Unless I got rid of the muffler delete for a 4" and resonator delete.. thats another choice.
I had a 2017 WRX catless downpipe, nameless catback muffler delete. Shit is crazy loud, resonator really doesn't do anything for volume but changes the sound so a deeper tone rather than raspy. I went back to muffler deletes and it's so tame and boring and quiet now. But the jump from the deletes to the catbackj delete with catless J pipe was way louder, like perhaps 3x?
awesome bro!!!
Carlos Suarez thanks!
Giani Dossman sounds freaking mean bro!
Carlos Suarez I agree it does! My launch control sounds so amazing!
3 new videos posted with the same catback in this video but have recently installed the Nameless Downpipe as well to pair with it. Check them out and enjoy!
can you post a drive by
Francis Lavarro yea I plan making a video later today after I wash my car. however it's gonna sounds different cuz I added the Nameless downpipe to my setup about a month ago lol.
link to this setup? really thinking about getting the one.
jorge valdez see link below for the catback. I ordered the muffler delete with 4" quad staggered double wall option. also added 5 bushings to replace OEM ones as well. I'll be posting another video soon as I have recently added their high flow catted downpipe. just need some free time to actually take the video. shop.namelessperformance.com/2015-wrx-sti-catback/
I just bought this set up for my 2017 WRX STI tonight. I can say that this set up sounds flawless and the best thing is that Subaru cannot void the warranty due to it being a catback exhaust. I am looking forward for the product's arrival. I also bought 5 hanger bushings to make it solid. How are you liking it?
Carlos Suarez This was my first big purchase for the car. I did the catback and also got the hangers. And I loved it! I actually just installed Nameless's catted downpipe about 2 weeks ago and I've fallen in love all over again. I'm currently running Nameless turboback with an Air Oil Separator and Cobb's Stage 2 ots map. I'm looking to buy a few more parts and then get an etune since I don't live close to any protuners. But needless to say I think you'll be completely satisfied with Nameless and you'll think it's how the car should have sounded driving off the lot.
Giani Dossman That is awesome, I would love to see and hear these other mods! I have a question for you actually. What is Nameless' lead time for the cat-back exhaust if one orders directly from them?
Carlos Suarez yea I'll be making a video very soon with whole turboback installed. and I just had a friend order his catback (same exact setup) and I wanna say it's 2-4 weeks. I know they have a live chat on their website during normal business hours and I use to just ask them for updates on my downpipe lol.
Giani Dossman I'll be looking forward for the video! oh ok yeah, when it comes to following up for my mods I have a disorder lol. I just called them and they said it will be 3 weeks. I also called subaru about the whole warranty thing just to be sure but they need to get back to me. What are your thoughts? Will the catback impact the warranty? I've done research all over the internet and they all say it won't but I wish subaru can provide something in writing that I'm good to go haha
Carlos Suarez yea I spoke with my dealership before I bought the catback originally and they told me it was fine and that I would not have any warranty issues. The reason it doesn't is because a catback does not impact air flow enough to cause anything wrong. however if you ever do a downpipe or intake then you'll need to tune your STi which is when the dealership can start to deny certain power train warranties if they can prove said aftermarket part caused the problem. but catback are definitely ok and do not require a tune. also remember a dealership can never "void" your warranty completely they can only deny claims if your aftermarket part caused the problem.
About to jump on this set up. Ordering directly from nameless. Is there any drone?
No not really cruising around town cuz there's still a small resignator in the mid pipe. There is small drone in the higher rpm range. For instance if I'm on the highway around 3500 rpm which is about 75-80mph I believe. But to me it's almost more like a rumble when cruising that fast. But it can definitely be drowned out by turning up the radio to 10-12 lol. I personally love it!
+Giani Dossman The order is in! Thanks for the fast reply. Now all I need to figure out is my wheels.
+AndreeBZ Nice, I don't think you'll be disappointed! I'm currently deciding between 2 sets right now for wheels lol.
+Giani Dossman I'm not sure if I'm going with 19x10 advan rg3 or 18x9.5 weedsports. What are you working with?
+AndreeBZ WEDSSPORT SA-10R RLC 18X9.5 +38 R FACE or Rays Gramlights 57 Valkyrie are the 2 that I have been thinking about for a long time. Just haven't put the cash up for it yet lol.
Thanks, seriously considering this setup
No problem man!
Setup specs; size, staggered, single or double walled?
4" staggered double wall muffler deletes. Fitment and sound I think are amazing!
