TAP Item s9 in 8:14 (world record)
not that good of a run really (sub 8 should be decently achievable), but this mode has been pretty neglected so I think it's WR. decent item cancelling, and managed to avoid activating any of the really horrible ones (the very worst items for time attack are mirror and laser. they aren't very damaging to the stack, but they have extremely slow animations)

Improved my own WR by a few tenths of a second, but it went from 4:37 to 4:36 so it basically counts as a whole second. My last wr was only by a few frames, so it's nice to get a more substantial improvement. I still think as low as 4:34 is doable with my current skills though, and 4:29 is hypothetically possible eventually! (maybe) (no promises) achieved live at twitch.tv/switchpalacecorner/

cleared them all in one try, but had to redo one of them because my capture card disconnected during it. that's why there's a cut, and one of them doesn't have an achievement pop up

SKIP TO 6:05 FOR THE INTERESTING PART This is probably the worst mode in the entire TGM series. MasterM has never been done before not because it's particularly difficult but because it's incredibly boring. Kinda neat, a few mistakes but not too bad. I didn't try to optimize my times or anything here, just figured I'd play through this stuff in case they shut down xbox 360 live gold (an active japanese xbox live gold subscription is required to access the roads, and playing the roads unlocks the offline modes) sorry about the flickering at the top, it comes and goes

WR by 3 frames. level stops could be a little better and I could've cleared lower, but overall I'm really happy with this run. not sure if it'll stay WR for long but I don't mind either way, getting to hold wr at all is enough

i wonder how often you can get to the m-roll out of 50 or 100 games. i'm trying to go for gm myself and i don't know whether i'm getting bad rng or if i'm missing something fundementally
@@daleottembrajt1961 if I slow down and just aim for the time requirement instead of PB, probably around 95%. you can get unlucky in a way that loses time, but a run being truly outright killed by rng is close to impossible
@@switchpalacecorner i wonder if i should get tap on mame then so i could send in some clips for review, granted i have lost quite a few games past 500 on pace for m-roll due to one miss drop and proceed to top out in under 30 seconds or i don't meet the requirements for that section. this game is brutal on the mind sometimes

"I'M COMING FOR YOUR HEAD." -A Thwomp. Shouldn't he be trying to get a body instead? I really wish somebody would defeat the Thwomp first in Level 100. If you do that, different music plays for Mouser while he gains the ability to stun you when he lands on the ground, and the Bullet Bill cannons actually shoot out bullets. ^^

no, if you use any of the codes (big, 20g, item, etc) you can never get the M roll and the max is s9

@@nisekoishi sorry but it's just one image for each item. To make it more complicated they'd need to add more items to the game

I'm a relatively new player and have never watched a full item run, especially not at this speed. Some very tense moments! Really impressive how you evaded some nasty items. Item mode is such so unpredictable, but also very fun. Congrats 👏

this is the highest possible rank. Big mode can only be played while logged out, which means no exam system and no gm

another 2 is very underplayed, the best run I can find is ZAB's 1:59 but that's like 10 seconds slower than the best runs in the online leaderboard for another (which is just a slower mode, so clearly another2 has a lot of room for improvement)
