Read the whole chapter and then pray about it.
That made no sense. He talked in circles to a bunch of kids. Tell him to look me up if he wants to have a real conversation.
I have a lot of opinions on this that no one asked for but: I grew up going to church, forced to and I never liked it. I had just enough religion to basically not really be fully saved. Baptized at 17 but I never really knew Christ til I was 30. I was fully repentant and saved and changed full of belief. So idk, I still think church is boring. I consider myself part of one I give to, tried the small groups. Going through my experience and talking with people there and my knowledge of the Bible now that I am of the faith. I’m not so sure of it all. Lots of gimmicks and no teaching greater than surface level Bible verses and worst of all: the quick sinners prayer at the end. Oh how many times I said that growing up and walked out and kept going on my sinful way.
If you think tattoos are a sin, then don't get a tattoo. Don't judge other people for having tattoos though. Each person must be convinced ìn their own mind.
you dont need a church to have god. I can testify this shit to my death . God is the one who opens the door but everyone thinks it's all about Jesus and the church. people can hate my views I don't care only God can judge me
In all your arguments over this issue, your freedoms or your rights related to it, and the like, please consider this: If you are a Christian and desire to, or actually get the opportunity of witnessing to either an orthodox Jew or a serious, non-nominal Muslim, your chances of even having them really seriously consider anything you say as being legit, of being the truth, will be substantially diminished (if not totally vanquished) if they see tattoos. Many will avoid talking with you any more than they have to (if they must, such as while they're on the clock working somewhere). How do I know? I had a Jewish friend in high school and a Muslim roommate in college. ... That aside, if you have an urge to get a tat or tats, consider just getting a HENNA tat INSTREAD that can be easily removed. Just show your pastor or mom before you wash it off (and possibly enter in a rant.) hahaha.
Modern churchs are more into money than the real god
the body is a temple for the holy spirit that you should not desecrate. like someone grafitti'd your house. the sin can be forgiven, but you should think about why you would not put respect to God first rather than putting the ways of the world first. like why love but disobey your parents and do something that does not please them rather than honor them
Too much abuse and feminism in the church, I just seek Christ alone at this point but still pray that he brings me to a body of those who genuinely seek Him.
There are times when we are commanded to have a congregation. None of the Christians keep those dates. If the definition of Sin is breaking God's law, and attending church on a Sunday is NOT commanded, then how could anyone consider this a Sin and then ignore what was commanded and call it not Sin for failing to keep those days?
I have tattoos & I can assure you as a Christian we should NOT be marking the temple of the Holy Spirit!!! God gets no glory in tattoos, he gets glory in what HE does in your life, not what you do in your life.
We get to see first hand when God brings a delusion, not unlike with Nebuchadnezzar! Now if Christians would get rid of this delusion, that Jesus changed the Holy days of God! Can someone please explain to me why Christians encourage one another to resist the blessings of God found in Isaiah 56 & 58! Isaiah 56 tells us about the blessings to those that keep God's sabbath(s)! First you'll be remembered by God! Also you'll have a name better than a son or daughter. He tells the foreigners and eunuchs that even THEY will be blessed for keeping them! Now the sons & daughters are faithful Israel! The foreigners are the ( Christians) & they will be given a name better than faithful Israel, ""IF"" they take delight in Gods sabbaths (Isaiah 58:13)! The blessings are there for anyone who wishes to follow Gods instructions! Why would anyone who claims to love God not want to please Him? Would not want His blessings? Yet many say no to God's blessings! This just boggles the mind!!
How does an individual Christian, not attached to a local church/discipleship group, help to make other disciples and faithfully disciple them (without becoming a cult) per the great commandment?
I don’t trust him anymore. Our bodies are temples. We are not to defile our bodies just as we wouldn’t defile a temple. Tattoos, piercings, cutting, these are all marking and defiling our body. My ears are pierced since childhood and I got a tattoo when I was a rebellious teen. I totally regret it and have asked for forgiveness and will never do anything like that to my body again. If I knew what I know now, I would have never done it. I don’t like the looks of tattoos. I think they look dirty and messy and definitely ungodly. We are made in Gods image. I think he’s so wrong. Being covered in graffiti is not of God. Our bodies are temples. Would you graffiti Gods temple?
I wouldn't be so arrogant as to say that the traditions and rituals of the Catholic Church are dead just because I don't understand them. The Catholic Church is Christ and she will go through the same martyrdom as we do, but the devil will still lose. Today, unfortunately, it has become fashionable for some people to make up their own beliefs and pass them off as great knowledge. Faith without deeds is dead and deeds without faith are worth less than they seem. And by the way, Christ himself founded the Catholic Church. If you don't believe it, look it up "Matthew 16,18-19 And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." So, from what I hear here, Jesus was wrong and didn't actually know what he was doing? Let's be clear: the Son of God, who knows the past, present and future and for whom there are no secrets, certainly knew what he was saying and how he meant it. The Bible also says that we must be careful not to be led astray by false prophets. For my part, I keep as close as possible to the divine word and always advise you to read what is actually written and form your own opinion about it. Shall God be with you.
Our bodies are temples and we are to treat them as such. Would you put graffiti on a temple?
like all things, if it doesnt serve to honor God in some way then it likely isnt worth doing. I have a tattoo and plan to have more. Mine will be to honor God.
USING THE SCRIPTURES ONLY TO FIND THE TRUE CHURCH OF JESUS Revelation 12:17 “And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.” King James Version (KJV) The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy ⬇️ Revelation 19:10 “And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do itnot: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” King James Version (KJV) So we are looking for a church that keep's the royal law all Ten Commandments including the 4th commandment the seventh day sabbath of the Lord Jesus and this church also specializes in biblical prophecy The dragon 🐉 satan is furious only with those that keep the true commandments of Jesus and have full understanding of prophecy John 14:21 “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” King James Version (KJV) Revelation 12 clearly teaches that God has a remnant church in the time of the end. Verses 1-6 of that chapter picture a woman who gives birth to a royal Man-child and a great red dragon that tries to destroy them both. The woman is a symbol of God’s faithful people (see Isaiah 54:5, 6; 2 Corinthians 11:2); the dragon is Satan (see Revelation 12:9); the Man- child is Christ (see Psalm 2:9); and the 1,260 prophetic days refer to the period of papal supremacy from the sixth century to the end of the eighteenth century (538-1798).GP 40.2 Revelation 12:7-12 comprises an interlude explaining where Satan came from. In verse 13, John returns to the story begun in the first six verses of that chapter:GP 40.3 Now when the dragon saw that he had been cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child. But the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished for a time and times and half a time, from the presence of the serpent. So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. But the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the flood which the dragon had spewed out of his mouth.GP 40.4 And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ (verses 13-17).GP 40.5 Verses 13-15 describe in symbolic terms the persecution of the Christian church, first by the Roman Empire and later by the apostate Roman Church. In verse 16, the earth-personified, and representing the newly discovered continent of America-helps the church by providing a safe haven, symbolically swallowing up the persecuting armies (see Revelation 17:15). In the seventeenth century, sending armies across the Atlantic was a difficult undertaking.GP 41.1 Revelation 12:17 places us in a time after the 1,260-day period-in other words, in the nineteenth century. Satan, seeing that he was unable to destroy God’s faithful people, is angry with the remnant of the woman’s seed-the remnant church.GP 41.2 Revelation 22:14 “Blessed are they that DO his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may ENTER in through the gates into the city.” King James Version (KJV) At the very end of the Bible, we catch a final glimpse of the people of God--and we see that they enter beyond the gates of the Holy City because, through the enabling strength of Christ, they kept the Ten Commandments. Yet this verse need come as no surprise; for, throughout all the pages of Scripture which preceded this final one, God is calling His people to that obedience. The faithful will enter the city of God because, by the enabling grace of Christ, they were overcomers. They were living clean lives. They were like God. They obeyed Gods commandments. Gods redeeming work enables those willing to submit to become mirrors of His character. This is what it means to be clothed in white robes. Their characters have been washed in His blood. Here is a passage which is the closest to combining both versions of Revelation 22:14. John 14:15 “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” King James Version (KJV) 1 John 5:3 “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.” King James Version (KJV) John begins this verse by defining the believer's love for God in terms of obedience. Obedience to God's commands is a necessary expression of love. Just as a child will obey his or her parents to show love, believers will obey the heavenly Father to show love toward Him. Obedience is not in any sense a way to receive salvation, rather it is the expected result of being a child of God. Faith in Christ makes obedience to the commandment of love possible. Some of John's readers may have been concerned about a list of expectations impossible to obey. However, John had already defined the fundamental commandments of Christianity as loving God and loving one another (1 John 4:21). Christ's commands are not a burden, but a blessing for those who know God. Jesus said, "For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light" (Matthew 11:30). Jesus indicated that it was the teachers of legalism and hypocrisy who made the burden of the commandments hard to bear (Luke 11:46).
Great, thank you!
It boils down to obedience, Yeshua said if you love me you will obay my commands. All sins are ultimately rebellion towards God. And some so much so that it is repulsive even to man and nature! We may not understand why yet, but His commands are for our good! Just be sure they are His(Yeshuas) commands!!! That said, who ever comes to the Lord in repentance He will not turn away no matter what life style or body art!!! He would that non should perish!!!
The Lord doesn't say that church is the body of christ you need to read again he says pickup your cross and follow me and when the Lord created the jews he created a nation of priests the Lord went to church to confront the Jewish leaders he died so you can have life more abundantly and the life the Lord gives is eternal so you're growing old it's on you for if you read the word then you know that you're a sinner and I pray for us all to be like the lord God and not like us anymore cuz when I went to church the Lord showed that most of the Christians are perfect judging this and that but not themselves no wonder the Lord says abomination is speaking in the Lord's house so I pray for you and I thank the lord for opening my eyes to see
Don’t Catholics believe in adding works as part of their gospel? Isn’t that denying that Christ is enough for salvation?
Come out from the world and be seperate. This scripture is plain. Getting tattoos is not seperating yourselves from society. Its being just like them. God calls us to be holy. To go higher in him. To be set apart. Its sad that people wamt to justify things to fit their ideologies.
If you are not apart of a church and going every Sunday by choice. You’re not a Christian. You fundamentally are going against everything the apostles taught.
This headline asks if not going to church is a sin. If you have a personal relationship with God answer is no; Matthew 7:6
his answer is doubletalk: he says to find any denomination that is faithful to Jesus and Bible but the fact that these churches are committed and faithful first to their denomination prevents them from being faithful to Jesus and the Bible. I don't think he understands the problem.
The Bible says do not forsake the assembling of yourself together.. So if that happens in a home, church, wherever, its important to fellowship with christians on a regular basis
There IS a supernatural God. ABSOLUTELY AMEN 💯🙏
It's not a necessity to visit The Church, True Faith in Christ is what determines it all.
Faith in Christ is more important than visiting a Church, but visiting a Church strengthens Christ's Body.
In the Bible God sets up how the church will function and even church discipline ect all the rolls to be filled by men of God and how their personal lives should look as far as a man of one wife ect...Catholicism is not Christianity by any means so if a person is a catholic but doesnt follow what a catholic church does and puts their faith alone in christ and has repented of their sins then yes i guess u could say a catholic is saved however if a catholic follows the teachings of the catholic church then i dont see how that's possible bc they do everything God says not to do ...
1 Timothy 6:7-9 For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either. [8] If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content. [9] But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction.
Your body is your temple figure it out
This is just my way of thinking it has been shown that churches can be corrupt but not all are. I believe in him but i am still finding my way. At the end when it is time to stand in front of god everything will be shown.
I think cliffe misrepresented the question, I do not think the questioner was asking about a universal church but a local physical one....
if you're a "worship leader" you have to get one or you won't be hired.
I have around 3 thousand dollars in sins tattooed on my body 👁️
Not going to Church is not a sin. But not going to Church leaves you alone to fight off the temptations of the Devil by yourself. Going to the Wrong Church will not help you either tho. People need to read the Bible for themselves and find a Church that aligns with what you learn from the Bible.
Jesus had a tattoo that said king of kings
I will only go to a church build by god directly in front of my eyes. Not those fake human-made churches.
Church doesn't accept mentally depressed person like me. I'm not saying this with hatred, but that's just the way it is,or maybe I'm just not lucky enough. Sometimes Church can be just another social club for certain people only, it can be like a corporate too and value people based on their achievement in life. Sorry if I offend some of you,I don't have any intention to hurt anyone. I still see myself as a christian, but more like a lone wolf,at least for now.
Cliff forgot a big detail in Leviticus, "do not stain your skin *as the heathens do*," which made me wonder how they did it and why. They did so for their religious fervor.
I like Cliffe, smart guy and dull of God's spirit, but one simply cannot go to a church which teaches contradictions to the bible. Would you be comfortable or is it acceptable to go to a church which holds LGBTQ services, or openly says gay marriage is okay in the eyes of God, or abortions are fine in the eyes of God? Are you okay with that? I'm not, so I'd rather have a house church than go to a church void of God's spirit.
Scripture does not say the church is the body of christ. Yahweh does not dwell in manmade temples.
You Are The Church!!! If you can't read or write you should go to a building on Sundays an let someone read the Bible to you! Church was Never a building
Is it a sin to want to sleep with your own daughter like Trump does? When Ivanka Trump was 13-years old, he asked: “Is it wrong to be more sexually attracted to your own daughter than your wife?" On the Howard Stern Show, Trump was excited to share that Ivanka is “a piece of ass” and "she's got the best body."
Christianity is a false religion with a false Jesus: The Christian Jesus teaches, when a believer dies, they go to heaven, and the unbelievers are sent to hell to be in torment forever and ever, for all eternity. The Jesus of the bible has said no one is in heaven, John 3:12-13, and all the dead are still in their graves, waiting for the return of Christ, the first resurrection. What does Jesus say in your bibles?
Getting a tattoo is showing God you are not satisfied with your body as it is.
I didn’t get any tattoos until I became a Christian. All my tattoos have a verse on them.
That seems like a oxymoron
The truth is Christianity is the faith that Jesus is the Son of God and he died for your sins. Nowhere in that sentence is there a requirement to attend a church. I do go to Church however I'm on the belief that going to Church doesn't make you a Christian anymore than me standing next to a car holding a spanner makes me a mechanic. It's in the practice and how you live your life is the proof of your faith and beliefs. Now going to Church certainly has its benefits but is it compulsory to be a Christian? No, it's not.
