@@youngfatgod got his ass today, yesterday I was in phase 3 and two hits off the bar was just so close to getting the last death blow and he killed me so I just ragequit. Today I returned and finally took his ass down. I reckon it took me about 15 tries and one and half hours in total. Genichiro is free, phase 1 ishiin is easy as any standard boss with attacks and phase 2 is the easiest due to the massive mikiri window seriously you don’t even need to time it just dodge forward. Phase 3 just had me in a headlock I couldn’t deflect his thunders and neither that weird spinning attack. i have to say sekiro is one of those games where you truly see how far you’ve come and ishiiin is the final exam the game throws at you and you really see how much you’ve improved

@@youngfatgod To elaborate the "sometimes it counts as guarding and not deflecting": Every time you press the guard/deflect button without successfully deflecting, it literally shrinks the window for deflecting. Normally, upon pressing and holding the deflect button, you get 12 frames@60fps (or 0.2sec) of deflect. If you spam the deflect/guard button, it will lower the duration to 6 frames (0.1s), then to 4 frames (0.066...s), then to 2 frames (0.033...s), then to 0 deflect frames. Getting a perfect deflect or waiting a full 0.5 seconds resets the deflect window. When you spam deflect 3 or 4 times, you are cutting your deflect window by a factor of 3 or 6. You might think you suck, when in reality you are actually making the game 3 to 6 times harder by spamming deflect. The fact is, you are actually hitting quite a few deflects even with a diminished deflect window.
