Airline's 2nd drop - hope this angle helps you - pulled my man over it with ease!
Переглядів 13411 місяців тому
He looked at it for 5 minutes, did a half dozen speed runs in and then BOOM full send. If you haven't done it yet, hopefully these angles help. For me, this is my 2nd trip hitting it and I was still nervous and scared, but a little less so I suppose. Gets a tiny bit easier I guess to just send off of it. My problem is always worrying about speed. You come around that flat corner and need to get...
Airline's 2nd drop 1st attempt - felt like the scariest thing I've done ever haha
Переглядів 10411 місяців тому
This thing is a beast. For those in the area (Charlotte, NC), here's my thoughts: - bigger and scarier than cedar valley drop - lands super smooth if you hit it right - slightly caseable - smaller but scarier than drop the hammer in bentonville - way smoother than the redbull drop at windrock

hey man hope you’re doing great! I’m on my 20th day post surgery and it feels like the plate is scratching my skin sometimes and it’s like my clav is getting pressed or something especially when I sleep. Did you also feel that way in the first month?
Supposedly heading out there Feb 21-23 if you wana meet up?
Did you rent or purchase that DH bike?
Dude. I didn’t realize you were still riding bikes! 😂😂😂
Hahahah slowly but surely man!!!
Looks fun. I’m going to head out there on December 14-15 (weather permitting). Any chance of meeting up? 🤞
Oh man how fun!! I am not sure, but there's always a chance. I'll reach out on the Thursday prior if so. If not, have fun!!!
No way! We got Scott on a DH rig?!?
I had to do it man! Just had to do it. Live once. I had to see what all the hype is about...was fun on day 1, now I just have to get it back out for some more fun.
bro! sick skydive! Ever try hang gliding at Lookout mtn? Highly recommend. also very cool of you to lend Singletrack Sampler a battery for his shifter, right on.
Ah you've done that? Do you happen to have a vid of it? I'll check out your channel and dig through if so...that sounds amazing and like something I"d love to try. I bet it's scary!!! Oh and yeah cool to meet him and help him out in the parking lot. Too funny.
@@ScottsMTB no videos of hang gliding up yet! Though I have several. I plan on making a video with a few clips in the next couple weeks if I can stop mtb'ing so much. Not too scary in stable wind but the pucker factor definitely increases with gusts!

You are a braver man than me!!!😮
Nah i was nervous - you got it easy!!!
Pretty cool
Skydiving excitement - high - nerves - high Mountain biking excitement - high - nerves - high Hahaha
Pshh…lyin ass rim…that’s some bullshit. You can tell just by looking at it that lying comes easily to it. 😒
I seen a comment of using a guitar tuner on each spoke good idea but would have to ping it at same point to produce the sound of each spoke to tune the off spokes to correct.
Wow that's creative! That's very cool. Humans never cease to amaze me.
Sounds like you need an e-bike.
Ahhhhh that is indeed the dream. It would make sure work of that place. I would love that.
Great song!!
YES!!! 100% agree!!
Seems like I see a lot of gold😊😊
Hahahahaha
I know this voice!
Yes!! It's the guy going to Whistler next year with you!!
Snapped a spoke 😭
Ughhhhhh!!! Hate that!
Chalk is smart
Yeah it works. It's not bike shop quality, but it works!
I live half way between Purser and Sherman and I ride at both all the time. Purser is super fun
100% totally agree!!
How about the dropper housing?
im so dumb, this video reminded me that i can just remove the lever from the bars and then just pull out the dropper from the frame, lol. Thanks!
I think I was having the same epiphany as you when doing this. In fact, I think I screwed it up first time around hahahah!
This only shows where it MIGHT be untrue - it COULD BE where the wheel IS true. Really, you need to do this both sides!
That's a good point.
I’m so glad to see you riding again. Love you brother 💙
Thanks Sam!!! Great to be back - you know all about injuries on the bike!!!
Can you adjust it with the tire and tube on and pumped up or must it all be removed?
Ah I did it with everything in it and it worked. It definitely wasn't bike shop quality repair, but it definitely worked. I got another 6 months out of it and did some big jumps and drops. Eventually I needed to get a proper bike shop tune, but it was good enough for a while!
Did you wear the sling every day until your two week follow up? I’ve not been wearing mine 24/7
Ah sorry I missed this. I'm also sorry you are going through this too. ooof!! I wore it the whole time and maybe shouldn't have. I don't think I was given the proper instruction. From what I've read later, I thnik your approach is best. Give it some time out of the sling. If I had to do it over again, I thiink I would.
Epic runs!! Amazing footage. I think I'm ready to try MTB just need to find a good helmet.
😊😊😊😊 I'm your man
Heck yeah man!
Felt good to be back!!!
He’s back!
🎉🎉🎉
Dude. Post. More. Often!
Gotta get back to it man!!!
He’s back!
You know it man! Ha!!
@@ScottsMTBhe’s back home you mean! 💙
saved me so much time n money, thank you so much dude
Same here man. It is not perfect, but kinda works in a pinch!
Thank you for such easy explanation. I don’t know why so many people have to complicate. The video was exactly what I needed straight to the point.
Same here man. It is not like the pros will wanna do this, but for weekend warriors like me it works fine.
I used a marker
Yup, I like it!!
hows it doing now?
Man kinda stronger than before but also i can feel metal in my arm hahaha
I went to airline a month ago and these trails were closed. I would love to ride spruce goose. I did not know it had drops like this on it
Ah yeah it's a bummer because it's always closed due to weather.
What’s all the trails named
They have a nice trail map there too, lots of new stuff they are building. I think my playlist for Berm Park has them all except for one at the very top.
That’s what I’ve learned from my grandad over 30 years ago 😀
Love it!!!
Lovely to hear Alice In Chains unplugged in the background as Laine Stailey graces us with his dulcet tones 😊
100000% agree!!
Is this a new video, or old?
Oh 2 weeks old Sam!! Boom, I made it back, slowly but surely!!!
If only "all how to" videos were this short and to the point life would be much easier and my device battery life would last a bit longer. Thanks.
This comment here ^^ because I totally agree. I know it is not perfect, but I sure do wish for weekend warriors like me, that most were short. Love it.
you were boosting those! nice
Yoooo thanks amigo!!!
is this bike/chain guide specific ?
They all vary a little bit but they're pretty much standard, just the green sizes. From what I've seen. I've done a few of them and they're all slightly but is all pretty similar.
@@ScottsMTB i just dont want to take my cranks off because i dont think i have the proper tools and also i dont want to take it to the bikeshop because i know they will charge me the same amount of money that the chainguide cost itself
@@KrissTheRider that sounds exactly like me! Ha! Until I bought the tools…but yeah same here!!!
@@ScottsMTB well i have the tools back home but in summer i will be in Sweden and i dont have specific tools
@@KrissTheRider wow Sweden
Looks sweet! Looking forward to checking this place out when I come up to Charlotte next month
Ah you'll enjoy it now with the bigger airline improvements too!! Spruce is great still.
@@ScottsMTB I just recently got back on the bike and on the beginner side of getting in the air. Getting more and more comfortable as the days progress. How is riding for intermediate? Not ready for huge jumps, drops or gaps just yet
@@aaronrabun1773 oh that's great. When you come here there's a green trail off the back that actually has some really good table tops. And the blue line spruce goose is intermediate but also tabletops. So both are fantastic!
@@ScottsMTB Sweet! Looking forward to making it out. I’ve been off the bike for close to 2 years due to some reasons but right at the end of my riding, I was getting out of XC and more into just having fun. There weren’t many places to advance my skills locally but since then SORBA CSRA (Augusta) has built a nice free ride area, a few jump lines and I found a few longish downhill sections in Forks Area Trail System so I’ve been able to try and progress. In that time I’ve watched Berm Park and Jarrod’s Place open as well so good spots are becoming more accessible 🙏🏼 Spruce Goose looks like a good next step for me before I try and hit up a Park
@@aaronrabun1773 amen to all of that totally identify with it...
Is there road access at the top of ridgeline ?
I think there may be. I think there's like a park or a parking lot up at the top that people ride in order to not have to ride the trail up. I haven't tried it myself but I think there is.
Listening to alice in chains as well . 🙌🏽👍🏻
U have great taste!!! 💥
150mm plenty brotha take good lines and you'll be able to ride it all! That bike is very very capable
Dude appreciate it Tyler!! If does seem like from time to time we are all over biked. Glad to hear you say it's enough.
@@ScottsMTB absolutely buddy
Hokies
Hahaha yeah baby! Hokies rule!!!
I'm scared to even get close to it. 🤣
Nope. You got this I promise. I just rode off it like a sack of bricks. If I can, you can.
when you gotta contact the FAA before sending a drop, thats gon be a no for me dawg.
😂
Nah you both have this lickety split man!! Hahahaha FAA!!! Hahahaha!! Seriously dropped off it like a sack of bricks. If I can do it, you got it easy.
Great video! I always struggle to get straight to Ridgeline, hopefully you helped me, not confused me, haha! I'd say 2 disadvantages to Narrow lens are, less of a sense of speed, and your bars are out of the shot most of the time, so you don't get the sense of the bike leaning and turning. See you on Ridgeline, what's your bike?
100% agree for sure! You are right on. And yeah, I struggle to find it myself. 2 times I've been and same result. Now I'm just gonna watch this video over again before I go next. Riding a 160/150 stumpjumper evo.
👍👍👍
Awesome!
Yo thanks Shane!!
