Nourishing Hope, formerly known as Lakeview Pantry, is a dynamic social services organization providing food, mental wellness counseling and other social services, such as job and housing assistance, to our Chicago neighbors in need. Founded in 1970, we strive to serve the needs of the whole person - with respect and dignity, always.

Volunteering at Nourishing Hope makes me feel so young. The staff always thanks me but in fact I want to say “THANK YOU” for making the pantry a home away from home for me. I live each week to be present for my shift. Working with my fellow volunteers keeps me alive emotionally. I am so blessed to be appreciated by the staff. The staff has enriched my believing in myself when they trust me to get the job done. Thank You.

Cappleman has been a curse on the homeless in Uptown. Why is he commenting on a pantry in Lakeview? I was going to contribute until I saw him on this site when is he is not from the Lakeview community. Obviously trying to earn sorely needed points.
