Hold grab while you dive. Generally speaking, if you're grabbing while in the air, there's no drawback to holding grab. On the ground, you lose speed while holding grab, so it's more situational there.
Yeah, I don't know what the story is with the explosion timer. Maybe it's lag, or maybe it's intentionally random... Either way, it's another luck based system in a game where luck plays too much of a part for a trophy like Infallible.
Infallible is a challenging trophy, so it's best to go after it in situations where you can minimize the impact of luck. The best shows to try for this trophy IMO are short squad shows with team games such as Squad Celebration and Sweet Thieves. I got my Infallible a while back in Squad Celebration (all random teammates), so while having a dedicated squad to back you up definitely helps, it's not a requirement.

@@Mila6446 Thank you for the compliment! I wouldn't put myself up quite that high, lol, there are some excellent players out there besides me and I know I have room for improvement and consistency. I got Fall Guys when it came out, but barely played the first two seasons and wasn't trying to improve until season 3 and beyond. I'm glad you enjoy the rounds, you play well! I'm happy to accept the invites when I can, though sometimes I won't be available. I have a few other groups I also team up with, and sometimes I just want to solo queue and hopefully help some randoms out. It'd be nice if the devs would add cross-platform messaging one day. And yeah, the matchmaking queue earlier was real bad, don't know why it kept getting stuck.
