Wow what a roof! It looks impossible from the ground. It looks impossible approaching it. It's only when your navigating it, when it seems doable. it's still not a gimme. Pulling off the last ledge is the hardest move.
A really good adventure on busy weekends. You can look down on the belayer on High Exposure, because your moves are way cooler than theirs!

My first clean 5.10. this was also essentially an onsite. i did look up gear beta for the first crux. The first crux is a nice "bouldery" overhang. i cruised it. the second crux is a bit more cryptic. i kind of hucked my hand to a good hold after looking at it for 10 minutes. the climbing in between the cruxes is some nice 5.8 corner climbing. the route protects well with micros and offset nuts.

As the name suggests; it's a great route. A pin protects a low crux. that's followed by some great, somewhat thin face climbing. the route ends with a fun roof. don't be scared by the low crux. I've seen people bail on the route. l feel an attentive belay can keep you from decking if you fall.
Higher Stannard (5.9)

Wow this was a fantastic climb! A cool low crux guards some thoughtful, technical face climbing. That's followed by a nice juggy overhang. The gear is a little thin. but it's there when you need it. Get a good spot for the low crux.

Great climb with a bit of everything. Spicy face climbing, followed by corner crack climb, followed by some juggy overhangs! I feel like this is a good climb to dial in as it's so close to the entrance and the grade scares a lot of people off it!
Bonnie's Roof 1st Pitch (5.9)

One of the most aesthetically pleasing landmarks in the Gunk's.there's a lot of climbing to be had in this route. Corner climbing, roof traverses, overhangs, great protection and awesome exposure make up an amazing long pitch. I did the direct variation for the second pitch, which I highly recommend!. That video will be up soon.

My first (5.9). I kind of want to see if I could break into the grade comfortably. I felt this would be a good route for that. I've never done this one, so it was a proper onsight. It's a pretty sustained route with lots of stemming and lay backs. There aren't any great places to get a good rest in. After the last crux i was really pumped, so i made a few mistakes in gear placements. at the end...

Wow, this was a great route. I wanted to put a lead on Son of Easy O this day, but there were 3 parties on Easy Overhang and a 4th struggling to dig a cam out on the route I was waiting on (Gunks on a weekend). This one had me a little nervous, because it's very sustained and I'm not super confident with finger jams. Nonetheless this is a great climb although short and there are lots of worthwhile top rope route to set up on this face.

Linked both pitches together. it makes the climb more sustained and adds an extra crux to the Strickly line. I feel this makes for a more worth whiled climb. Give it a go and let me know.
High Exposure(5.6)

Perhaps one of the most famous climbs in the Gunks. The 1st ptch is a breezy romp up a corner out to a nose with a view that looks like something out of a movie. The second pitch is the "money" with a committing and exhilarating pull out into an exposed shear cliff face. I got on it for a sunset , and it was quite the adventure. Watch after the climb for bonus shenanigans during the rappel.

Some great moderate face climbing followed by a tasty overhang. A proper Gunks classic that's usually occupied on busy days.Can you find the frog's head?

Fun romp on a popular route in the Gunks.even though it 's a 5.3; there are some great moves to be had here. easily one of the best of the grade in the Gunks. Putting a solo on Betty is sort of a rite of passage here.

Classic 3 dimensional climbing from the Near trapps in the Gunks. My soul almost left my body when I was confronted with by hornet! Otherwise a great moderate pitch with some great hard variation to test your grit on.

sick man, I don't know how to lead yet (just learned how to beley) and so it's interesting to see the techniques you are using and the decisions you make when where to place cams and how long the extension should go. I want to do trad at some point but I'm in Florida so not going to happen for a while lol
