The plan is to share some videos to help out intermediate guitarists - I'm not a pro or an expert in any way, but hopefully good enough ;)
Vox VT40X amp and VFS5 footswitch
A short demo of the different modes available on the Vox VFS5 footswitch, and how to use them to improve the range of presets available on Vox vtx amplifierswhen playing live.

How can I bypass the pedal completely and go to clean sound
You can turn off all effects by long pressing the top left button on the amp. Otherwise you could have one of your 8 presets set to no effects and just an amp model, if you need to switch to this tone using the pedal
If you save a sound you like to a channel, are you able to raise or lower the sound while playing live on the amp without loosing the memory of the stored program?
Yes, all the dials still work so can adjust anything live without changing the preset. If you want to save your edits you just long press the preset.
Pretty cool demo of the pedal features. Seems a little confusing. Especially without any lights on the pedal itself. I had no idea it could be used in a stomp box mode so that's helpful! At $120 USD, it's hella expensive for what it is. Even at $80, I'm wondering if I should take the plunge. How do you feel about its value?
Depends if you feel happy with the range of effects. I loved it for a while but then found 8 presets wasn't enough for the band I was playing in, so ended up using a Zoom multifx. I prefer the effects of the amp though so have kept hold of it
@@neef68 good value if discounted and certainly cheaper than 8 pedals Just wish you could tell which channel you have selected
So is "bank" on/off switch is to ch 1-4 and ch 5-8? ch1,ch2,ch3,ch4,etc switches are on/off only for effects? Can ch1-ch4 or ch5-ch8 be used at the same time? One ch = one effect? Can the settings of the pedal be saved on the computer, the amplifier, or both? Thank you if you answer the questions.
The video answers your first 2 questions. A ch is a preset, so can include 3 effects, but what I'm showing here is that with the footswitch you can change to a different mode where the ch buttons can let you turn on/off the 3 individual effects within a preset. OR you can leave it in 'normal mode' and have each ch button on footswitch switch between your 8 presets. Presets can be saved on both computer and amplifier - only 8 on the amp but as many as you want on the computer. Hope that helps.
Thanks! Just bought a vt20x. Nice sock
It's a slipper mate, but thanks 😂
So could i have say...a delay on ch1...a distortion on ch2 and say a reverb on ch3?? Then switch each one on and off via the footswitch. Im a newbie at pedals but really like the amp and want to be able to switch between a few simple effects..much like having individual pedals
Yes, that's the idea although you're limited in the order they come in - eg the first one has to be either compression/overdrive/distortion, and the last one can only be reverbs. But for a newbie it's perfect - all the effects are very good.
is there alternative footswitch for vt40+?
No idea sorry
Some nice little 'Sultans' there...
can I use them to control amplitube 5 or neural dsp?
I don't know but I don't think so
Cant hear any thing talk louder brp
Okay so I'm fairly late, but can I save all 3 pedals to one channel ?
You can save 3 effects to one preset - is that what you mean?
@@good-enoughguitar9603 sort of. So you know you can have 3 effect pedals. Can I have all 3 of my chosen pedals saved to one channel. For example, if I wanted a distorted delay with some reverb, would I be able to save that to one of the channels on the foot switch?
@@luka86499 Yes, that would be one of your 8 presets
@@good-enoughguitar9603 amazing, thank you !
@@luka86499 yes
Im confused can u pls tell me how to bank a guitar channel/effect onto the pedal
To save a preset on the amp you just long press one of the 4 CH buttons until it flashes. Whatever you've saved on the amp is assigned to the pedal buttons automatically. This is the first part of the video. The alternative way of using it is like a pedal board just for the 3 effects of the currently chosen channel/preset on the amp. (that's the second half of the video). Does that make sense?
@@good-enoughguitar9603 yh i already found it but thank you also i liked ur vid :D
Wow, I've had my VT40X for about a year and had no idea the pedal did that. Thank you so much! Being a truck driver I'm away from home a lot so I don't get to play it much. I really need to learn how to use that amp. I absolutely love the sounds.
Glad it was helpful mate
After two or so years I found out there is fuzz in the amp as well 🤣
I have the older VT40+ model but never bought the footswitch... just ordered one finally so was curious how it worked. Great video! cheers!
Glad it was helpful :)
