2004 - 2007 Toyota Sienna fractured defective left front door check pocket popping noise repair due to weld failures
👏👏👏
This method should work for the 05 tundra DC I guess .
Would you do it this way if you had a lift?
Perfect way to pull the frame with low clearance ceiling. Do you know if 1 gen tacoma tool set up is the same?
You guys are my heros…. That’s an insane project
Thank you Master . 🫡 👌 🙏 for sharing your great knowledge 🙌
I watched this video several times as I did my Tacoma frame swap. Thank you very much sir. You are a scholar an a gentlemen..
He really is smart. I reside near him.
Can you get me his contact info?🫢 I'm about to do a new frame replacement for my 2000 Tundra, it would be nice to have a person to be able to connect with if I have any issues/questions. Thanks for your consideration
Toyota really fked up here. This isn't like replacing an engine. Hats off to you guys
Bravo!!
I am disassembling my Tundra and following this process but slightly modified. What a project!
I can send a pic but it will not let me share here
My 2004 door thingie just broke and i noticed it doesnt have the 2 hole area to put new hinge on . Anyone know what to do ?
Where do you find a good used frame but bad body that isn’t wrecked or rusted out.
So you are saying that you better have a big tool box full of tools to get this job done.
Exelente video, thank you
🙏👌🙌🤝👍Thank you for sharing your great knowledge .🍀🌾✟✟✟
Stellar! Just what I was looking for all over UA-cam to have a specific plan to do this to my ‘04 Sequoia. It’s on now! Thank you OP.
I have the same issue with my 05 Sienna
Far too much work for an old Sienna. Drill and rivet where the spot welds are broken is MUCH easier. Metal filler is a very good substitute for a crack in the pocket. This is how I repaired mine without removal. If it had 30,000 miles on it, then I would do it this way. Mine has 150k. Both my auto rear door cables are broken too. I just removed the cables for manual operation. Horrible design just like this. The longer I own this, the more disappointed I become.
Excelente explication
I swapped the frame on my 2000 tundra using this method. Including changing the necessary items from the old frame to the new frame, redoing control arms, coil springs, rear shocks, rack and pinion, tie rods, and front differential, I completed the job at just under 120 hours. But that is EVERYTHING. 2000 Tundra Limited 4x4 Access cab
How much did it cost you? Thinking about doing this on my 2000
@@jwil07 I found a good frame at a salvage yard for $450. I went way over the top. I invested $2,000 roughly but I redid EVERYTHING. It’s worth it to me.
@Shadetree Tech woukd it be possible to convert it to 2nd gen fromt supsension?
@@GammaFields if the gear ratio is the same, then it could likely be modified to fit on a first gen frame. Are you trying to make it 4x4 or 2x4? I ask because that is a major factor in space as well as the actual frame itself
Great job , thank you !!!!
i have the same pickup truck and need the same frame replacement done how much do you charge to do this? i have the parts and am located in nyc
Anyone else closed their eyes and pictured it was Brad Pitt fixing his Sienna? Lol sounds just like him! 😂
Can you do my Tacoma frame
The engine and trans are mounted to the frame.. while they didnt move it far, they still removed it.
the had some kind of engine crane holding it up
They made it look easy...
Did you call the flare nut wrench a tubing wrench? Must be an old man thing.
Any chance you do this for other people, and if so where and how much?
Wow nice job!
could this be done using an engine support bar instead of suspending the engine from above? Or would it tip forward once the cab is placed on the jackstands?
I would think the fenders would not have the strength to hold the weight of the engine/transmission and you might drop the engine.
@@lelenbates3367 Yeah i bailed on that idea and used a 4x4 and two car lift size jack stands and a chain to support the engine and another 4x4 and regular jack stands to support the tranny. The rest of the process outlined in this video is excellent and I can vouch for it. I was able to swap my frame in my driveway
Complete waste of time and overthought. Just pop rivet it (door in place)
The original frame still looks good to me lol
Don't mess with the frame. Take it to Toyota and the recall will replace it for free.
Toyota wont replace the frame for everyone. Especially now the recall time limit ended.
I think instead of doing this I would just carefully dismantle the entire truck an sell off all of those good parts and send the frame to the local metal recyclers.
Dont forget to bleed the brakes, a 4 wheel alignment, and be sure to tighten all suspension bushing components with the vehicle in the ride height position. It's also good insurance to replace the steel brake lines with everything exposed. Stainless steel pre-bent line kits are cheap.
Ok They will go back in time 5 years to do that.
I think Steady Eddie was advising people that are thinking of doing this.
I wish u guys are close to my area.😔
Thanks for posting. Have this exact problem on my 2005 Sienna with 190k miles. Looks like way too much work and will just live with the noise.
I know now what not to attempt by myself. Well done, gentlemen.
very impressive
Next week....they change the oil.
That frame was in good condition. Or was I hallucinating?
I have a 2006 Tundra and that Frame looks better then mine. Hummmm
Warranty work probably this year had a lot of recalls and it may have been a program. By Toyota in order to avoid lawsuits
All I can say is wow, to take a project like this you have to have huge balls, can't imagine where to even start, so many things to do. Great job, well done.
And friends
0:20 crotch adjustment is a crucial step before frame replacement
Looks like a pain in the butt.
Thank you for this vid, I basically took the same approach you with my 02 Sequoia. I had the the luxury of using a friends lift. I braced the engine and trans in the body and dropped the frame with the gas tank rear and front diffs.
Who needs new subframe bushings?!? Thank you for showing me exactly what not to do. What a hack!
Can i put a 4x4 99 Tacoma frame on a 2wd frame
The 4X4 and the 2wd Prerunner are the same frame. Of course it has to be Xtra Cab or 4dr if your 4wd is. The Prerunner is a six lug 2wd. It is the only 2wd drive that can interchange with the 4wd. If your 2wd is 5 lug, it is a no go.
Wow.
This is literally the only video I could find that addresses this subject/technique. Pulling out the frame from under my Tacoma by myself took the better part of a day due to all the rusted fasteners. Hopefully putting the new to me frame in goes without a hitch. THANK YOU for making this video.
Thanks for the comment, I always try to do it the easy way.
Hi any update? Success ? Thanks
How much would you charge to swap mine ..this is a great video
@@user-ur1io4ji2q It should take a good shop about a day if the only thing that needs replacing is the frame. Figure in bolts and new parts if you do go that route.
I think this is fine and dandy.
