I just bought 2 one-tenth ounce eagles from SD Bullion. High premiums, but more affordable.

I thought this was going to be about a sovereign currency, not another gold/silver presentation. So would the best currency besides the USA dollar be the Japanese Yen, British Pound, European Euro, or something else. (Nope, I would not even consider Bitcoin). FWIW: Premiums on gold and silver in coin sizes are astronomical right now in my area (Southern California).

You recommended to "trade $10,000 of my gold for platinum". In hindsight, this was a dud recommendation. This is the last time I'm listening to you.

Palladium is $2400 right now. If you bought it for $600 a few years ago, it definitely paid off. I have a strong feeling that platinum is gonna do the same.

A lot of people don't understand that cars use platinum for those catalytic converters. But in truth, since 1990 as our government gave away our technology - all across the world platinum and rhodium became a very valuable substance that would measure temperature. So it is understandable that to keep the economy going -- is to down-turn the price of platinum. And this point the u.s. is becoming a third world country We are Becoming dependent upon steell and Specialty Metals in the global community. So it makes perfect sense that Platinum will become prominent om amongst other things.

Here's the deal. The United States has an Ace card. It's called Platinum. They retain the rights to produce currency in the form of platinum "coin" rather than paper. Watch what happens to platinum the next 10 weeks - basically the u.s. is going to supercede the Federal Reserve with Platinum paired up with Bank of America and their 41 cryptocurrencies patents using ethereum. Don is right about dealer promotions and how parts of the dealer community seems to push products at a premium. Your best advice is to see what coins repeatedly sell for in auctions, even proof Eagles. Auctions are very big right now, and if nothing else provide a great deal of price information for the consumer. So before jumping headlong into a particular subset of the coin market, even if it's bullion, check prices all over. Never take one person's word for what something is worth. One of the more surprising developments (at least for me) is that rare coins not done well since 2011. In fact it's been straight downhill. The very very high end seems to be holding up reasonable well, if not a bit better in places. But the 'middle class' type of coins are not doing well. I buy almost everything at auction and have been amazed at the bargains available since 2016. Yet, they really haven't moved from so-called bargain levels despite a nice move in gold. It raises the question of why.... I don't know, it might be a demographic thing where our young men/women are simply not interested in non-stock or ETF investments. Or it could be an economic thing where ppl don't have the wherewithal to buy anything but the essentials in life. Coins are also a lot of work, requiring research. It's not cut out for everyone. There's also a patriotic element to investing in rare U.S. coins since they represent our history. And clearly, people aren't as interested in history like they used to be. Or perhaps it's a combination of several factors. But I fear the trend is more permanent than people realize. Certainly a subject worth discussing.

Hey by chance did you luck out and get one of the 2019-S Enhanced Reverse Proof Silver Eagles yesterday at the U.S. Mint auction. I tried.. what a fiasco.. did not get one but the way the web site acted was very very concerning for future auctions I would think. The web site after bagging a coin and going to check out the site would continually refresh..over and over and over when ever you tried to finish putting in credit card info and other info for your purchase. Then at least in my experience.. when I finally got all info put in. (20 minutes) I would click to confirm and the web site shows error.. want to continue ..yes.. so you try again and same response.. then eventually after another refresh yes back to that.. the web site shows ..not available.. bummer.. but how can they show you having the coin in your cart or bag.. and then say it is unavailable ...if it was not available how did I get it into my bag.. very good deal at $65.95 a coin.. already going for around $650 on E-Bay...

Hey there Nick, well I got one of the 2019-W Paladiums...on Sept. 12th, the first day I got it in the mail from the mint I immediately turned around and sent it in to NGC to get graded. Well I just got it back today it came back "Early Releases Reverse PF 69" was pulling for a 70 but some days you get the bear and some days the bear gets you. Well when I purchased the coin on the 12th the cost was $1987.95 and as of today October 9th the price at the mint is now $2087.99 a $100 increase and it is still not sold out. But another oddity in the coin world.. I subscribe to a web site called Worthpoint.com. There you can put in anything in the search and it will come up with latest auction results. So I put in 2019-W Pallladium Silver Eagle, comes up with 4 results. So on September 2nd a PF 70 sold on E-bay for I think it was like $3200 and $3100. My Twilight zone moment is how can that coin be sold on E-bay on Sept. 2nd when the mint did not offer it for sale till the 12th, plus it has NGC certification.. I am somewhat new to the coin world.. so this one had me stumped..thanks good video.. and if the price is right I might consider selling mine.. peace,

Hi Nick! It's the day! September 12, 2019 at 12 noon the 2019-W reverse proof Palladium eagle comes out, in fact in just a few hours. I got the 2018 with only 15,000, I am hoping to get the 2019 reverse proof! Sorry, but if I get one I am keeping it myself. I am a coin collector, not a seller! Very seldom do I sell coins! If I could get two maybe then I'd sell one to you! But there is only one available per household. I know you will get sellers! There seems to be more sellers than collectors! What happened to the good old days? Good luck!

Short tip videos like this, once or twice a week are the best sales tool you can use on me. Even some histories of coins, sometimes, would be interesting. Stamps too but, I don't think you feel there is much interest in them.
