With this particular bag I’d say for an event yes for a “regular” guy, it’s a concert, dinner, evening event appropriate. I think it’s a wow piece for a straight man to wear. I would not say that for everyday just casually walking down the street. If you want a multicolor everyday piece I’d say go for the pochette. It’s smaller and yet striking and depending on what you wear it with a thoughtful person would just think you’re fashionable.

You can't fix it but i'd take it to the Louis V store in NYC and ask them about the process to fix it. They will need to replace the handle honestly it's no way for you to fix it yourself.

Yes first class is great and I’ve flown first class a few times but I never found it worth the money personally but more power to you frequent first class flyers 🫡

Some people, like myself, try to keep our more expensive items in pristine condition when possible. It’s not about whether they can continually buy new luggage. It’s simply if you worked hard to pay for something, you want to treat it well.

I totally agree with the worrying. It’s not just worrying about it getting banged up but also fear of it getting stolen. Honestly even if I could afford to buy new suitcases all the time, that’s nutty! Frankly the whole scenario is always worrying if you fly regular class. Even if one pays to board early, you may have to check it. There is so much stress around flying these days with this worry on top of it. Having said all that…I bought my first carry on LV in 2000 and I still use it. I bought this same suitcase you have here (55) and sent it back. It just felt extravagant for the fears well discussed here!

So when i've flown business class or higher then I didn't have any issues. But I also fly for company trips(they nor I am going to pay to upgrade) and if the trip is a busy route those first boarding seats are taken quickly. But the trip I just came off from San Fran last week. I was in boarding group 2 and had to check my now regular rolling luggage. The plane was pretty small. After they do the preboarding/fam w small kids/military/that airlines club members/handicapped and all that I ended up having to check. They had room on the plane but they still made us check it. It's not even sometimes that they don't have the room they just want us on and off the plane quicker so they throw our stuff in checked.

almost all of mine is bought preloved now. at the time i got this piece there were no used one anywhere I looked and I had been looking for about 2 years

i think anything you can't keep near you may be best not to buy if the primary purpose will be flying

I haven't used it in awhile but i use a baby wipe or a toothbrush to get in the grooves. It only needs minimal cleaning usually.
