I use my iPad as a satnav and found this is the best way to mount it to the dashboard. The suction mounts are too weak. I figured if I screw it to the storage compartment lid I can always replace the lid if I want to sell the van. I did drill 2 holes in the wrong place, but ignore that! I sometimes have it in the middle of the dashboard if I am using it to play music, or closer to the steering ...
