The Aleph - Piano Sonata no. 2 - IV. Moderato (Animated Sheet Music | 2024)
Fourth movement of my second piano sonata entitled The Aleph.
Total duration: 35 - 40 minutes.
Movements: 9
Miscellaneous Notes:
The entire composition is built on only four simple arpeggio series, which are constructed out of simple triads. These small building blocks ultimately generate everything you hear.
The Aleph is inspired - as the title suggests - by a short story by Jorge Luis Borges.

This period symphony was inspired by the channels and work of Elam Rotem (@EarlyMusicSources) and Erik Aren Schroeder (@ErikArenSchroeder). I highly recommend Elam's video on period compositions, as well as Erik's own compositions written in an 18th-century style (including an opera buffa, no less). Links to their excellent channels are at the bottom of this description. Their work has made me ...

Sometimes i feel like your music don't say anything because of the lack of singable melody
I take it you’re not a big fan of minimalism! This is a short excerpt from the Aleph Sonata. You won’t find a single singable melody in the entire 40-minute composition because the piece is built around four small arpeggio series. You could think of it as a form of minimalist composition or an experiment in tonal serialism, but there are definitely no melodies.
Nice, where can i find the whole piece to be heard on youtube?
The full composition is complete, but I haven’t posted the other movements yet. I’ll do so in the coming weeks or months, as soon as I have some time to create the other videos.
Kinda modernistic
Thanks!
It would had been better if the quality of the digital instruments made it possible to enjoy the sound. Thats a real problem for many composers. But the video is very well made, it sure took a lot of work
I don’t see that as a real issue. It’s true that digital instruments won’t sound exactly like real ones - and that’s actually a good thing for musicians, who might otherwise be replaced by software. In the future I may eventually create another version using Cubase and the BBCSO sound library, but that will take quite a bit of time. The sound quality would be better compared to MuseScore, but of course, it still wouldn’t compare to a real orchestra.
I love this.
I'm glad you do!
Well done! This deserves so much more views. 👏👏
Thank you very much, I'm glad you liked it!
Very cool!

Excellent share !!
Thank you! Cheers!
Those are some truly beautiful backgrounds, it’s amazing that we don’t even have to leave the planet to see skies that brilliant. What need is there to explore the stars when God has condensed half a universes worth in beauty on our one world.
No views no more
Good amount of views but all concentrated on the older pieces. It's ok, it'll take time!
For the first time ever I have more collective views on a video than the rest of humanity; I am rather disappointed in the rest of humanity.
Ahah, I know! Let's not blame it on the rest of humanity just yet! It might just be a UA-cam glitch (more details on my reply to your other comment).
Good to see another song from you, do you intend to ever put these on others platforms?
Hi there Aaron, welcome back! The answer to your question is yes, not sure when though :) But you're totally right, I should look into it.
Good to know, I look forward on adding them to my Spotify playlists if and when they become available there.
Yes, Spotify is likely to be the next platform.
Yes,” said the Lord Digory, “Its inside is bigger than its outside.” “Yes,” said Queen Lucy. “In our world too, a stable once had something inside it that was bigger than our whole world.

Do you have a patreon?
Or any other medium of connection
Hi Aaron, no - only UA-cam for now. Maybe in the future!
Excellent name for a song involving Edmunds betrayal. Whether that was the songwriters choice or the chapter title C.S Lewis himself penned, it is worthy of commendation.
Do tell, is the art for your music AI generated or do you work with artists to create these images?
If it is done by human artists I would love to know who they are so I can check out more of their work
The images are entirely AI generated using Midjourney, which is pretty impressive and constantly improving.
Thank you sir for putting this on UA-cam
Thank you Aaron, appreciated!
That cello is pitch perfect
Or the violin, whichever it might be
Hi Aaron, it's a violin but I guess that in the sections where it's playing in the lower register it could be mistaken for a cello. Have a great day!
“Just letting you know that your title says into the unknown” While your description says”into the known” I personally like into the known better as a title to this piece but whichever one is the typo is up to you to correct. Thanks for writing this music
Hi Aaron, thanks for stopping by and for catching the typo! The correct title is "Into the Unknown," so I'm going to fix the error in the description. You almost convinced me to change it to "Into the Known," but the title is already baked into the video, so it's not possible. Perhaps it'll be the title of another composition in the future!
Happy to help! It’s always nice to get to see smaller creators that are invested in their work :) I look forward to listening to “into the known” whenever it gets written
I'll keep in mind that title :)
By the way, apologies for the lost comment on the latest video - I had to delete it and reupload it.

Hi Vikram, thank you so much for your kind words. Very much appreciated!
Waiting for upcoming melodies. Is there a way someone can license your music?
Thanks Vikram. Happy to chat about it. I've just added my email address to the channel. Feel free to reach out to me via email. Have a great day!
Listening to this for the first time since the actual performance April 27, now, today, on October 13, with the Hamas-Israel situation flaming, I am finding Churchill's words painfully apt. Thank you for putting this on UA-cam, as I have much wished to be able to hear the music again, having been moved deeply by it,
Thank you!
Hello stranger, thanks for stopping by. You're listening to my latest electronic piece, titled Two Voices. If you're a musician or an artist please drop a comment below - I'd love to check out your channel and find out more about work!
Im neither a musician nor an artist. I am however a poet and lyricist. So if you ever want to compose a piece with words as well as melody, consider this an open invitation. Elsewise, here is thanks for an excellent piece of music
Thank you for your kind words! At some point, I'd love to write something for voice again, so your open invitation is most welcome. Is your writing available online? If so, I'd love to check it out.
Not really, though, if you would like I can post a few dozen of my poems on a website of your choosing.
For poetry I really wouldn't be able to recommend a website. However, if you do post something feel free to send me a link, I'd love to check out your work!
