I know this video is old but, i want to do this to my 2nd gen. Did you cut everything except the outer tray frame? Then just install a plate with holes for the gauges?
Hi dude, yes a lot of things are cut inside, and after yes install the plate. But be careful at all wires ;)

Hi mate. First gen I don't know, it is the previous gen, I don't know the interior, but if it is a mistake and that you want talk about the 2nd gen (like mine), for do this, it is a lot of work, a lot of things to cut, but possible ;) You must unmount all the cigarette lighter part, and cut, cut, cut lol. I take a steel plate for fitting the 2 gauges inside, with a carbon vinyl.
what tool did you use to cut? also how to you fasten the plate to the ashtray?
Im trying to do this in my first gen GS how tough was it to do?
