this was my favorite version of the song my only gripe and it's not even that bad it's Luna's voice. you can tell how much better Celestia's is and Luna's voice is good but can tell it wasnt made for the song and added after the fact. it's sad because it's a perfect Luna.

Wonderful idea, well executed, but I find that the 'production value' difference between the two songs creates a sort of dissonance between them. (Also personally the delivery of Luna's soliloquy should probably be a bit more 'angry', but I suppose I'm just being overly critical at this point.)

The brony fandom has had a surprising number of accomplishments in the short time it has existed, a large chunk of them in the area of original music. But in my opinion, this and I Am Octavia are the only ones on this tier. Whatever you think of the music in each of these pieces, the strength of this fandom shows through in the number of hands each of these projects passed. This work has it's roots in ponyphonic's "The Moon Rises." Encouragement, covers, new projects, new artists taking the same tune but putting Luna's, then Nightmare Moon's perspective on it. Finally the editor to bring it all together. And if you think that was an impressive journey, I Am Octavia began as a simple written parody on deviant art and grew to be a full fan animation. For me, however, the power and emotions stirred by this song is what I always think of when I think of this fandom. Somewhere between "I love you, I miss you/All these miles away" and the end, I never fail to start crying. From ponyphonic to MaskedVidiot, and everyone who tried their hoof at this in between: thank you. It hasn't gotten the same attention as some other works, perhaps, but in the eyes of at least one brony, together you've made the definitive work of this fandom. Not just for the content of the song or for it's quality, but also by the means it was achieved. Stay brony my friends.
