What a beautiful aircraft. That shot of the four fighters flying in formation should bring tears to any veteran's eyes.

I like the rear rack. Great idea for keeping rear turn signals intact. I just picked up a DR200 that mostly stood around and the guy told they break off easy because his crew would bump them or knock it over in his shop.

Thinking about getting one after I get my first bike (A CRF250L)

I bought one last year and really like the bike, it's very capable off-road and the 250+ mile range is outstanding. Suzuki worked out all the bugs on this bike a decade ago and it's about as bullet proof as you can get. I think they're the best deal going for a quality dependable bike.

A P51 pilot said in an interview when ask about P47's "I never flew one but I'll tell you this, I was flying a patrol one day and I saw a flight of P47's about to attack a train, so I dropped down lower to watch and two P47's attacked the locomotive at the same time and flipped it over on it's side, let me tell you something, two P51's couldn't do that".

My father flew combat missions in that war from November 1944 until V-E Day. He would not talk about it until he was in his 70's. When he decided to say something about that time the three things he said were: "We knew we had a job to do and we were going to do it." "It was not like the movies where everyone was a buddy. Your buddy might not be back the next day." And, when his group had a reunion near his home town I offered to drive him to it. He said, "why do I want to celebrate the time when people were trying to kill me and I was trying to kill them?" It is with great respect I honor those who brought this aircraft back. My father will not be with me in this life, but his dedication to his country and its founding principles are embodied in the restoration of Dottie Mae. My hope is that he rests in peace and this aircraft lives on holding the torch of liberty.
