Overnight Boat Camping at Prince William Sound
Hey man! I’m fishing Homer and Seward the first week of August. I’d love some info on the SPJ jigs to bring? Thank you!
Sorry been busy .. I normally used a long jig at 250 to 300g good for fast current they are fun if you drift go by flat island by the trench that drops down from 90 to 120 your are will be sore from reeling up fish biggest fish I caught there is less than 50lb but you never know .. good luck fish on
@@Simplyfishing_Alaska reading this as I sit on the plane for Anchorage! Thank you sir
What jig was this? Looking to bring my slow pitch set up for halibut too! Congrats on a beautiful fish🎉
Can’t remember bought this in B&J sporting goods in Anchorage
Alot of trauma over 150 lb halibut. Put your big boy pants on and get it over the transom…
Love to see you on big boy pants bringing a halibut that size over the transom.. obviously you don’t know what you’re talking about lol
Nice catch and watching from here in Alaska I’m in Fairbainks right now been in Alaska for thirty two years now 😊
Thanks for watching
When I'm on the 7 seas it feels so heavenly!
On God!!!❤
What’s your Rod and reel setup?
Ocea jigger 2000hg with temple reef Levitate max 500g line varivas pe3 top 80lb mono
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Do you think if a shark would've been biting at its tail...you'd of got him outta that water no matter what it took?
I fish for more than 10 years all over Alaska , Seward, Whittier and Homer , never saw a shark . I heard in Whittier there’s a lot of salmon sharks but never encountered one
Awesome fishing adventure! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
Sweet! Catch a big one. Love going to Homer
Same here!
Wow. Are the big ones as tasty as the 20 pounders?
They are about the same but we prefer the 30’s to 80 lb Halibut
Promo_SM 💃
You got any recommendations for some more budget friendly slow pitch jug rods? I’m only 14 so I don’t have a big budget but I wanna get one for next year out of Whittier and Seward
Try Amazon they have goofish slow pitch rod something to start with .. check B & J off Northernlights they also started carrying some Penn spj rod
Hey, thanks for all of the great videos. I am going to be up the the latter half of July next year. I have done a lot of bottom fishing from rental skiffs all up and down the coast, but never in Seward. Do you think that the rental boats are worth it, or should I spend the extra money for a charter?
Hard to say. get with Millers landing they have some skiff that you can rent don’t know how much and how far they let you out from the bay .. there’s a UA-cam video from deermeatfordinner check it out but looks like he went towards the Chiswell which is about 30 nm with their rental skiff
Bai unsa man nga time mangan hah mi dinha nga di kaayo bugnaw ba? Taga texas gud mi 😂
June or July lol average temperature naa sa 60’s to 70’s
Just message mi Bai Unsa inyo plano I’m available sa weekend ra I can try to accommodate you guys .. if gusto mag Salmon sa river best time 3rd week sa July towards end pero dependi sa run
Ayay bai manganha ko alaska unya luto sad kag ingon ana bantay rah unya kay mag dala jud kug kan-on.
😂 O ba basta ikaw .. ingon misis kusog ra kono ko magluto basta magfishing lol
You should release those big hogz. They are the females that keep the system going and they taste terrible compared to the 50 lb er’s. I fish PWS a lot and never keep them. Good exciting video tho and thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the tip
Never saw that biggest "shooter" fish boated/sized/weighed??? I fished PWS out of Whitter in mid 1970's.
Pila may limit ana bai sa yelloweye? Manganha ko kug Alaska tingali bai pedi ba ko uban diha nimo fishing? Lol😂
Pwedi basta ikaw lol .. 1 per person ra gyud lol di kabawi sa gas
Woah that is a monstrous looking fish! 😂
Thanks Bai
Watching from Texas here.. Fishawn!

Nice video very detailed on what to look for.
Glad it was helpful!
Nothing like fresh Calamari

Awesome fish trip! Thanks for sharing from Minnesota!
Thanks for watching!
Nice reel master. Anong reel yang silver?
Puro Ocea jigger 2000 yong black f custom
@@Simplyfishing_Alaska nice 👍 Ganda ng f custom
Thanks ..if you need a new reel and line mas barato sila check it out Bai DiGiTAka plus free shipping took only 4 days thru FeDEx
With this size halibut it's a good idea to let it completely expire while it's still in the water and only then bring it onboard. They can break your legs with their tails or damage the boat, don't ask me how I know :)
Yes that what I normally do
Danngg beyond legit!! I wish I had my own boat Pws has the calmest waters would be out there every day just relaxing fishing haha
You can do it!
Monster Halibut!!
Biggest catch of the day!
Enjoy and be safe
Kalami ana.
❤05❤👍👍👍👍🌸🌷🌺🌹🌸Beautiful video 🌷 Have a great day🌹 Thank you for sharing +🎁🙏
Thanks
Black bombers!
Where exactly is this? if you don’t mind me and my dad are going out Wensday and are wanting to get black bass and lings also did you need extra fuel? we have the same boat you do
Out in chiswell Island about 6 nm from Pony cove just find any rock wall it’s filled with black and Lingcod 60’ deep but you don’t have to go that far just around the corner of pony at 100 plus deep is filled with bass also and big by chicken passage if your familiar .
No you don’t need extra fuel it’s 90 gallon tank most likely you use around 30 plus gallons depending how fast your going .
@@Simplyfishing_Alaska thanks!
@@Simplyfishing_Alaskathanks we just got done we limited out on rockfish and lingcod!
Awesome ❤
Driving boat down from A-town tomorrow suppose to be calm nice and sunny!
We’re fishing at Prince William Sound yesterday. On friends boat we just got back all chicken no big in’s
Nice one! Been catching chickens all year!
Chicken is good ,, wife prefer’s the chicken specially from homer , we launch at homer and fish off Anchor point, that fish was shared with friends, neighbors and relatives nothing was wasted including the heads
Looks like a nice day tried to make it out there 2,3,4th of July and there was 8 ft swells.
This was after the 4th of July weekend , I usually stay away from Seward on big holiday , we stayed home that weekend plus that weekend wasn’t a great weather all over
I am wanting to rent a boat in Seward next year. I know there are limitations on how far you can go in the rental boats. Can you get into good numbers of rockfish inside, or do you need to go out further? I have a ton of rockfishing experience. I am sure I can get them if the fish are accessible.
I closest place that I fish is in front of Thumb Cove you can pick up black bass around ledge from 60’ to 120’ then as you drift towards deeper 200’ or more get some yellow eye rockfish and quilback .. watch out afternoon wind sometimes Resurection bay can get really windy..
Consistent rockfish will be in Rugged Island fox island if weather permits fish in front of Mary’s bay at 250’ ledge you’ll pick up some chicken halibut
If you’re not bleeding them, why keep them? They will taste too fishy with all that blood in their meat!
We bleed them it wasn’t on video ..thanks
All the way from Georgia here. Seward, Alaska is the modern-day Garden of Eden in my opinion. Thanks for posting a real and raw fishing video. Keep it up!!
Thanks
It's amazing to me you didn't break that rod on the deck of the boat. Install and use rod holders it will save you money and fishing trips.
Thanks for the tips!
These slow pitch rod they are not supposed to on rod holder , they are not built for fighting fish , check out some videos on slow pitch Jigging you’ll be amazed
after the catch bud @@Simplyfishing_Alaska
