There's so much misinformation floating around about the Astrodome's current state and future potential. For this Houston gem to truly come back to life, certain egos need to step back and realize it's okay for someone else's plan to be part of the show. The Dome's future is bigger than any one person's vision.

Seeing better zoomed video of this you get to see how eerily the beam from the landing light is climbing up the tower as the helicopter approaches. Nobody saw what was coming and being such a devastating crash, they likely didn’t feel anything 😢

WAS IT THE SAME PILOT THAT FLEW THE PREVIOUS FOUR TOURS AROUND THE CITY? IF NOT..MY THINKING IS IF THIS WAS A NEW PILOT ON THEIR FIRST RUN. BY IT BEING DARK..HE OR SHE PROBABLY DID NOT SEE THE SUPPORT CABLES RUNNING DOWN THE TOWER AT AN ANGLE AND FLEW RIGHT INTO THE CABLES AND NOT THE TOWER. I DO NOT BELIEVE THAT THOSE CABLES HAD LIGHTING....🙏

For the time being, I'd love to see the dome lighted for night games at NRG. It would make an outstanding ariel shot and show Houston being cool enough to have 2 epic domed stadiums. Sad to see those shots with an obvious dark spot there.

There was a single giant air raid siren on the top of the county courthouse downtown. It ran on gasoline. I believe it was a Chrysler. I don't believe the other sirens still went off in the '80s, but the one downtown went off and you could hear it for miles.
