Restaurant supply stores will get you them cheaply, but it's much better to buy three of the 6-hour style "camping" version Sterno cans (it has "camping" in the title, and they seem to be very sturdily made) then use all those cans up and once they are empty pull off the metal top and throw it away, while saving the fiberglass wick for future projects. Then fill the interior with perlite from the gardening section of your local hardware store, then pour alcohol over the perlite in your Sterno can, then cut a small disc out of either carbon felt or ceramic wool and make a large hole in the center of that disc and then stuff the disc into the open hole of your Sterno can on top of the perlite. Then light it.
I work night shift cleaning pots at a restaurant and cater business in Texas and they have lots of em heat in a can things so I fill my pockets when no one is lookin. And in the big black out I was using them to heat my trailer and I wanna tell you all they saved my hide! I went through about 450 of them so my private stock is pretty much gone now but I will build that up real fast soon as they end my lay off. So git yourselves a job in a place and stock yourself up and no worry bout the next power out age.
