    I wonder how loud the wind noise when speaking to ATC will be. Don’t really have one to test it out unfortunately.

    David Clarke doesn’t get much love unlike Bose and Lightspeed which I don’t understand why

    Good day! Thank you for your review, it helped me to make the final decision of which light-weight active headset to purchase. I received it a few days ago, and have not yet been able to check it in the aircraft, however, I already have some things to mention. 1. Super comfortable, the clamping force is next to none compared to others, even Telex 750 has more pressure than DC Pro X2. 2. Excellent build quality, plastic parts don't feel cheap and crappy. It has, however, one pretty annoying design flaw that I have already noticed. It tends to slowly slide off of my head when looking down, or sliding off fast when I tilt the head down quickly. In my aircraft, the FMC is located quite low on the pedestal, as well as the radio freqs. has to be entered into the FMC so I need to tilt down quite often and I already see this as an annoying problem. The problem is even more pronounced if I adjust the microphone little bit further away from my lips. I have tried to adjust the headband but it doesn't make much of a difference. What I think the problem is, is that the headband cushion has almost no friction against my head, it's a bit too smooth. If you have any possibility to reach out to David Clark, please let them know this. My suggestion is to make a cushion with more friction, I'd definitely buy that! If you have any feedback from them, please please let me know! Cheers Martins

    Great review. My Bose A20's are 11yrs old and about on, what feels like, their last legs. I had an FO that had the Pro X2's and he let me try them on at cruise. I was initially pleasantly surprised at how comfy and quiet they were. I think I will be purchasing them in the coming week. Thanks for the great review!

    Thanks for this video. My A20’s right channel died last week. Sent them in. The Aero Club I fly at has a One-X in stock. I think I’m gonna go ahead and buy those. I have headsets with way more time than my A20’s for other things that cost a fraction of the cost and have never broken. That was a disappointment.

      @@Flying_Jorts I’m seriously considering the DC one x. On the review he said the wind noise increases whenever talking to ATC. How bad is it? I don’t have one to try.

    • @Flying_Jorts

      @@LordBagdanoff The ANR on the Bose works slightly better. Probably due to the clamping force. Didn’t notice wind noise when keyed up I only fly piston airplanes. But the DC’s are way more comfortable.

      @@Flying_Jorts Sounds great. Are you able to record your radio transmission via blue tooth on the DC one X? Cause I know the A30 and Delta Zulu has that feature.

    Hey Captain! Thank you for doing these videos, i ve been looking to get some a20s or a30s for the a320, which one would you recommend me? Some pros of the a30 are the tech support the will have. But i have seen many reviews stating that the a 20s are better than the 30s

    Thanks for the great reviews. I just ordered these this week and am using them for the first time in the 757/767. One thing I noticed was that when I turn my head head to the sides I hear a loud rumbling kinda sound. Im guessing its the neck muscle that might be breaking the seal which like you said can cause some issues on the Bose as well. Have you heard of this happening and would the A30 be worth a try? Thanks for the help

    • @MatthewHelms-qm5jl
      @MatthewHelms-qm5jl 2 місяці тому

      I had that experience when a few of my first officers use the Bose. I did not have that experience with the David Clark. It seems that a good seal is kind of a must when using these newer ANR headsets. I would give it a try both manufacturers have great return policies and maybe the Bose will fit your head better.

    • @team3363
      @team3363 2 місяці тому

      @@MatthewHelms-qm5jl Yes I agree that the seal is a must have. My FO has the DC and I tried his today, seems like his pads are much softer and the headset overall more quiet. I wonder if the seals just need time to break in a little and soften up. I will try the A30 just as a comparison and then see how they fit. Thanks again

    Thank you for the detailed video. With glasses how bad was the leak? Used an PNR headset for my PPL and now working towards IR and commercial. I am trying to decide whether I should go with a PNR H10-13.4 or go with this.

    • @MatthewHelms-qm5jl
      @MatthewHelms-qm5jl 2 місяці тому

      I would most definitely go with the David Clark ANR headset. It is never too early to protect your hearing and this does a great job with that. How it works with glasses depends on the frame type and size something like a thin metal frame will work very nicely.

    Thank you very much for this thorough review Captain, I have the DC pro x2 also flying the 737 and find them really susceptible to air conditioning noise getting picked up by the microphone(s) especially with intercom on, wondering if the A30s don’t have that issue, I used to have the Bose proflight 2 and the sound quality and noise canceling were pristine, unfortunately having the earbuds on for more than 1 flight a day was uncomfortable not mentioning that they usually pop out if any sweat, normal skin oil after a long day etc… once again appreciate your time and effort doing these videos..

    • @MatthewHelms-qm5jl
      @MatthewHelms-qm5jl 5 місяців тому

      Bose might be a little quieter but they both pick up the surrounding noise from the other persons microphone. Only way to diminish is to turn hot mic off or turn down the volume on the intercom.
