Most of the fragrances I love are definitely ones I disliked at first. But there are some loves at first sniff that I'm still very much crazy about.

​@@turnoffx it doesn't smell too mature to me at all. It is quite strong and edgy I'd say. You WILL smell like church, but with a weird aldehydic twist :D If you've ever listened to the band Batushka, this is how it smells to me. If you want to, I'll do a video on it within a couple of weeks.

Great question! There are multiple reasons why we may have different results: 1 Skin differences 2 I may have sprayed some on my clothes which makes it last longer 3 We may have different levels of sensitivity for different raw materials. I.e. I'm hypersensitive to powdery musks.

​@@Jesus-Christ-Is-Our-King Depends on what you want to be honest. I'm a fan of Aaron Terence Hughe's fragrances. Oud or Tabac are really good for a more masculine scent. Red Tobacco by Mancera is an obvious recommendation too. Intense Pepper by Montale is also really good if you want spicy. If you're into something more edgy - Rien Intense Incense is insane imho. And if you want a total cheapie - I would check out Oud Touch by Franck Olivier.

Definitely! Just with this one it was especially the case for me. Couldn't understand the scent for the longest time until it finally dawned on me :D

Great point, Jane! It does feel like this could be the case, since not that many fragrances are just straight up bad. I do think that "Ok" will bring some competition here as well (as boring as it may sound 😅). The very fact that I own a scent already presupposes that I like it to some degree. Obviously with the exception of those that I irresponsibly blind bought 😂 I will be reviewing some scents that I'd definitely rank other than "really good". And it will take less than 128+ videos to do that too for sure. I probably will revise the criteria as well and make it a bit more strict, since it does seem like there's a clear bias in my categorizing.

Oh definitely! Peppermint in my experience is usually a top to middle note. Also it can easily overpower the fragrance when I use peppermint EO.

Yeah, the basil isn't super prominent, but you can notice it if you know what to search for

Of course! I just wanted to let you know 😋 Blind sniffs are always fun but I’d love to see you take on the spray off challenge, especially with your analytical approach to things! So you take 8 colognes, and from those pick any 2. You spray them both into the air and see which is stronger. The winner goes on to the next round. Keep going till you find the strongest! Obviously it’s not too serious but it’s great to play along.

I know, right? But it's most likely them just plastering on their brand on the fragrances. Maybe some curation as well, but can't imagine this being a super involved process for them.

Rammstein has been working with perfumer Alexandre Illan since 2017. A. Illan: “Well, it's not Arianna Grande, and when they came to me, they told me they didn't want sugar notes. They don't want to be a celebrity fragrance line. They want their fragrances to be a continuation of their DNA. The license is closely tied to the band; everything has to have a green light from them.”
