awesome video!! my personal experience with Buddy: really nice UI! i did have bank account connectivity issues pretty much immediately w/ my BOA debit card--it would miss transactions, which i'd then manually enter, only to have them duplicate weeks later (and it wasn't b/c the bank was still processing the transaction--i checked!). that being said, i think i've found that manually inputting most of transactions is better for me anyway as it makes me scrutinize how much i'm spending. i really like the daily spend breakdown as well as the ability to roll over surplus income into the next pay period! i'm really intrigued by Pocketguard--a plan for paying off student loan and CC debt is really what i'm looking for right now. i know you gave it a low ranking, but if that's my priority, would it move up any higher?

This is a Canadian United Hack for those of us who travel from Canada to the US alot. 1. You can buy United tickets on Air Canada. For example, a flight from YVR-HNL is being sold on United for $590 USD RT connecting in SFO one way you earn not that much PQP. You pay a little more I paid $635 USD RT with Air Canada Comfort operated by United Airlines. You still get the 4 PQF but instead of lets say 550 PQP you get 1280. How The ticket is an Air Canada ticket while United operates the flights. Air Canada Flex and Comfort fares earn 100% based on distance flown. 3200 ÷ 5 = 640.

Great video! You have done all the homework so I have a question. I like the automation of linking my bank and credit card but I want a simple app. I am considered a low income senior citizen...my only income is social security and I have no investments. I am just interested in making sure that I live within my income, which is difficult! I also know that I would not be dedicated to hands on all the time. I like having downloads that apply to categories that I have set up in budgets. I use Apple exclusively so is CoPilot too sophisticated for my limited income, no growth, station in life?

I'm a huge fan of Ramsey, but the free version of EveryDollar is extremely limited. Most people looking for a budgeting app are BECAUSE they want to get a hold of their finances, so spending that much money on an app isn't plausible for most. Those spending the money are either already rich or, are stupid and will stay poor because they're spending more than they can afford.... which goes against the Ramsey solutions. So the app is ironic.

What about Wealthica? Somehow it didn't make the cut? Anyone using that? It has a Budget feature and auto syncs with many banks including Canadian where Mint used to fail. I tested it out, I like it, but I am hitting some limitations that want to make me go back to Excel or find an alternative. I want to budget for one-off and monthly expenses more intuitively, maybe see multiple months graphed and have an easy eay to copy and paste values between the months on the dame page without loading each month page separately. Even csv import could help.

This was very interesting, but very vague. I would love to see a longer form video going more into depth with each or at the very least the top ones. I am studying and contemplating YNAB, which seems to have a cult following. It has a lot of feature, but for that price tag, I'd want to see even more. It's a little clunky.
